Wow , we moved away form St. Louis in 1972, seeing this it just breaks my heart. I would have never in a thousand years think Jamestown Mall would look like this. 😥
A lot of speculation goes into why malls are eventually abandoned…and from what I’ve seen, the ones that end up in the worst shape just look like they were in the middle of NOWHERE. like…why did they build these places so freaking far from everything? Every mall that I’ve gone too that’s still thriving (with a few exceptions) has been surrounded by other stores and restaurants to draw more people in…
What’s scarier that it hasn’t even been abandoned for ten years. There are malls abandoned longer that look much better than this. Jamestown was very unlucky when it came to natural decay and vandalism.
@@Polothemius I saw. While exploring there was a copper thieves so I avoided him. This mall probably should’ve never been built in the first place. As it was in the middle of no where and it was a bad location.
At last, I believe you were the first person on camera to explore the cafe level of the old Dillard’s. The really decayed store you entered and exited was Stix Baer & Fuller when the mall first opened. The 4th floor had a restaurant, but it looks like when Dillard’s got the building in 1985, they transformed it into more shopping space. The store closed in 2006 and sat rotting ever since. That’s why it is in such bad shape.
Unfortunately, the mall has been in no condition for restoration for years. at this point, the whole building would probably just fall apart if they even tried.
Omg!!! First, be careful! That place is jacked up for real!!! Im speechless. OMG!!!😮😮😮

It's sad to see it in this condition

At 16:45 you were inside the old Dillards
thank you for documenting this mall before demolition.
This mall in its current condition is truly apocalyptic, like a scary harbinger of things to come.

I agree with you 100 percent. It is shocking how quickly this mall deteriorated.
@@retroryan838 I absolutely agree with you. I was going to say that too. It hasn’t even been 10 years. WOW 😢
Very cool exploration❤❤❤😮
I remember when this mall was built. Spent a lot of time there as a teenager.
Thanks for this! Would you be able to do the same with Chesterfield Mall before it gets demolished in October?
@Malintent maybe I've already done it day 1 of closing 😉🤫
Love this video 👍 A great location for a horror movie
Looks like remnants of a long lost time guess is in a way. What are they putting there?
Used to go see movies, and hangout there as a teen. Pretty sad to see it go.
Interesting video. Thanks.
It gotten a lot worse than I was in there back in 2021. It’s finally coming down after 9 years of being abandoned
It's already demolished all that remains now is the 3 anchor buildings

I also think I was the last person to explore this mall before demolition
You entered and exited thru what was Dillard’s
What time were you there on sunday?
Wow, all these years it’s finally going away. Any news of what’s replacing it?
No Idea yet I wonder as well what's gonna replace it 🤔
Is there any way Jamestown can be rebuilt and restored vs demolished?
At this point they are demolishing it. They already started on the demo.

Retail is dying, the area is going downhill.
The movie theater was creepy.
NO WAY YOU DIDNT WEAR A MASK 😭
You can see black mold everywhere!
