My friend's mother is directly from South Korea. Watching this brought me back to hanging out at their house and their mother making us all Shin Ramyun in really unique recipes! So glad I found this video! Really want to try the green onion Ramyun!
The Shin Ramyun he first showed has become pretty easy to find in normal American supermarkets now. Check the regular ramen spots, and if they don't have it there they probably have a small "Asian/international" aisle or section somewhere else.
We have an HMart near us which in addition to being a grocery superstore, has a food court with several Korean restaurants, plus Thai, Chinese, Japanese etc. They also have a bakery with fantastic coffee and fresh made pastries. The challenge is to resist going there every day!!!
From my experience they usually don’t speak English and make it pretty obvious they don’t care about helping 😂 they looked completely lost when i mentioned msg and just looked at each other shaking their head until I left

I just made the milk one. It was pretty good ☺️. I remember eating the regular one before and finding it rather spicy. I do believe that I have a pretty good spice tolerance for a German, however the regular was rather hard and somewhat bothersome to eat. This was still quite spicy but way more enjoyable. 👍
I tried the recipe with the egg and cheese, my word it was delicious. A quick and easy meal for a evening if you can't be bothered to cook anything. Thank you Aaron, much love from Lancashire United Kingdom.

Ramyun with egg, cheese and green onion😋 I’ve been eating it like that since the 90’s....have tried other ways of course but I always come back to that recipe 🤷🏽♀️ it’s easy and delicious
Watching this takes me back to my time in S. Korea as a young man in the Army. Loved the people, history, resilience , food. Sadly, many of my fellow migook goonins didnt respect the place. Almost came back married, lol. BTW, I always put cheese in mine and people look at me weird, I picked up that habit over there. I think I'm still sweating soju, lol. Subbed!
1987-Pyeongtaek Camp Humphreys 249th MP Detachment/1988-Taegu Camp Henry 728th MP Battalion. Absolutely loved the food, the culture, the beautiful women. Went to the beach, the Olympics, Apsan Park, Cheju, Itaewon. Drank my share of Soju, always mixed with pineapple soda. I was never afraid to try anything from the street food vendors. My favorite food was always the mandu but I especially loved the homemade ramen with hard boiled egg the mama-sans would make in the huts next to our barracks. The last year I was there I had a great girlfriend who spoke perfect english and who showed me sights I would never have known about (and who wasn't a "working girl"). Probably the greatest experience I've ever had in my life.
The milk one is the first one I tried. I must say I was a bit sceptical, but My God! Absolutely loved it and so surprised by the flavours! I cooked it with a full fat milk and personally, I think the pepper flakes and green onions is a must. I'll be making this one again very soon :) Thank you 😊
I only had semi-skimmed in and it was still amazing. I went for sweet chilli and added some chilli powder, paprika, and a little cayenne. I used some quite sweet toppings: capsicum and sweetcorn as well as some grated cheddar, spring onions, and diced salami. It is officially the absolute best comfort food. I ended up making it two days in a row.
i know this is an old comment, but can i ask where you live? reason is, korea's milk is different than the milk that we have here in the US, and i wonder if this changes the taste. for those interested, korea uses UHT pasteurization methods (as well as many EU countries i think), while the US uses HTST pasteurization methods. the result is that they taste different. i find the US version is more refreshing but the korean version has a more sipable quality.
-_- I kinda wanna slap you for this. Boy, I thought ur gonna recommend something not spicy, turns out u just change the temperature XD XD XD (I can't eat spicy food :'))
I had this when I was in the states, Montana, not really that many of the Asian food to get, I literally emptied all the Ramyun Ramens out of a supermarket , they 're just way better than those burgers...... even now I'm back in my home country and I still want it so badly....... this video drives me crazy!!!! Korean food is really that great!
This video is a year old, but still saving lives. I tried a few of the recipes with other instant noodles, and it works like a charm. You are saviors to all broke college/uni students!
If you like Shin then you will love Shin Black. It’s the souped up version of shin. You could also try Namja (men’s), Yeul (Fever) or Teumsae (original shop name). They are all the same idea and taste very similar but actually have a bit more flavor than Shin. Namja by Paldo is more garlicky, Yeul is spicier and a little richer and Teumsae is 4x spicier than Shin. It’s about 10,000 scovilles. I love them all and keep a case of each in stock in my house. I usually buy them on Rakuten Japan because I live here. It they sell all of them on Amazon too. Also try Ottogi Cheese Ramen and Koko Men. Koko men is chicken Jalapeño. Namja has two different packages but they are both the same product. One says 男子 and the other says 남차. Both say man just one is packaged for Japan. I actually get the Korean one’ here in Japan anyway. Watch out for being over charged. I pay 80-110 cents for all except Shin Black. It cost about $1.50 usually.
Same for me when he said "You cant say you don't have this in your fridge"....literally ran out of ketchup hasn't brought some in a while and only has ketchup packets from take outs in drawer.... -_-;
made the milk one today, didn't use whole milk but it was still super rich and surprisingly good! I like the original soup but I like the milk version a lot more now lol
This is incredible. Love your presentation style. I've started putting double cream, a poached egg and some chicken stock powder in mine, along with homemade pickled vegetables and I think it's my favourite so far. Can't wait to try yours!
I only have soy and coconut. milk spoils too fast. Using some kind of milk and knowing which spices to combine it with is definitely a staple of asian cuisine.
I also have a recipe Put the seasoning and the veggies first until boiling THEN I put the noodles. After that, I put a spicy Korean fish cake mix it with a small knob of butter (very very small) and some chilli flakes. Tastes AMAZING.
I am white (so, so white) and I still love spicy food on hot days. My friend's Mexican husband teases me about it *all the time* (I'm not quite able to handle Mexican or South Asian levels of heat yet, but I'm getting there!)
I personally hate ketchup, mayonnaise and mustard as well. I don’t like dressing either. You should’ve seen the face of my friends when I told them I use salt on salad 😂

I do believe that I have a pretty good spice tolerance for a German, however the regular was rather hard and somewhat bothersome to eat. This was still quite spicy but way more enjoyable. 👍
I've ate spicy noodles and food all my life but I agree the regular shin ramyun noodle Were almost unbearably spicy good but hot 🌶️🌶️

I tried the recipe with the egg and cheese, my word it was delicious. A quick and easy meal for a evening if you can't be bothered to cook anything. Thank you Aaron, much love from Lancashire United Kingdom.
Where on earth, in lockdown, in Lancashire, did you come up with ramen?????!! (From deepest Hertfordshire, desperate for something with more kick than meat & two veg)
You guys are like the A team. The ultimate duo! I love your channel and have tried several of your recipes now. I hope you two break out and find success beyond TH-cam in a big way, you're just that good! I even ordered a Korean noodle pot to to go with some of these. Keep up the good work!
I like how Aaron shows us the compulsory aftermath : the dishwashing
I like how he called his wife "ramyun tester" 😂
I tried the milk and it was really good i actually like it better than the original one.
Okay! I'll do this!!!!
This the best Raman video on TH-cam. Everything is straight to the point and you even got a taste test after each recipie.
this is the quarantine content I need, I'm at that point where I don't even know what to cook or eat anymore and if there's anything I have too much of it's ramen
I love to mostly cook the noodles in a pan and poach an egg right in there with them, plus add cheese and another protein. Usually crab or slices of leftover steak, sometimes another soft boiled egg. There are sooo many ways to experiment, though!

I'll be making this one again very soon :)
Thank you 😊
I only had semi-skimmed in and it was still amazing.
It still tastes good without the add ons
i know this is an old comment, but can i ask where you live?
reason is, korea's milk is different than the milk that we have here in the US, and i wonder if this changes the taste.
for those interested, korea uses UHT pasteurization methods (as well as many EU countries i think), while the US uses HTST pasteurization methods. the result is that they taste different. i find the US version is more refreshing but the korean version has a more sipable quality.
This guide isnt about Ramen, right? it's about green onions.

W Gavin I agree. I lived in Korea for 2 years and I miss the food the most
Ramyun burger!
This video is a year old, but still saving lives. I tried a few of the recipes with other instant noodles, and it works like a charm. You are saviors to all broke college/uni students!
It’s upsetting that there’s no asian supermarkets near my house. Nowhere to get shin ramyun and I’ve run out🥺
Ethan Chan Oh..no.. 😭😭 I'm so sorry..😡I hope you to find the way to get some. 💚💚💚
Amazon has it... even Shin Ramen Black.
If you are in the US they usually have it at the .99 cents only stores. Also Costco sells it in bulk.
@@AbsFabbs Yup. Walmart will also have it. Online and in stores.

LOL "im not responsable for that" when he said if you use skim milk
I only have soy and coconut. milk spoils too fast. Using some kind of milk and knowing which spices to combine it with is definitely a staple of asian cuisine.
I also have a recipe
Put the seasoning and the veggies first until boiling THEN I put the noodles.
After that, I put a spicy Korean fish cake mix it with a small knob of butter (very very small) and some chilli flakes. Tastes AMAZING.
