This lesson is definitely more for beginners. I'll show you how to form a major and minor chord on ANY key on the piano, and how to train your ear so that you can hear the difference.
    Here are the timecodes:
    Form a chord - 0:25
Filling in the middle - 1:07
    Major chord formula - 1:46
    Minor chord formula - 1:56
    Training your ear - 2:05
Make your practice fun - 3:22

One way for sports people is to think of NFL Defenses. You have 3-4 Defense or 4-3 Defense. So A minor is a 3-4 defense(3 half steps, 4 half steps) , A Major is a 4-3 defense (4 half steps, 3 half steps). This is something I use to remember.

I have been a piano student for 2 months and my teacher hasn't taught me about chords yet. But since I'm hungry to learn new things about piano stuff all the time, I kinda love this video for showing me a million possibilities to play with chords. I hope my teacher doesn't think I'm betraying him. Hahaha Thank you so much! You're a sweetheart.

@@PianoteOfficial as part of my recovery, I attend a music therapy 'Strokestra' thats run by the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, and we had one of the lead pianists at our session today. I showed him your TH-cam videos, and he said your style of teaching is so easy to understand, and explains things a great deal better than 99% of piano teachers out in the world today. He said to follow your videos, and he expects me to be able to play 'Someone Like You' within a few weeks of following you and practising.. Now thats a challenge as I do have some difficulty with my left hand after the stroke!

Hi. Playing the piano is not my thing. Yesterday, I suddenly got myself being on the keyboard and I started to watch online on its basics. Studying piano basics is really hard, I almost cried in frustration yesterday. I know it takes a lot of practice and patience. I watched online piano tutorials since yesterday and of all the channels I visited and watched, this amazing channel helped me to understand this particular lesson so well. This lesson greatly helped me to identify the difference between the two. You're such a great teacher! Thank you so much! Gonna watch all your amazing tutorials!
