I was in the middle of my big 17's depression, missing the person that i loved the most, as high as one can be, Alone in a room, of a city that i didn't know well Yeah, you gotta be a really good artist to be called Burial...
I gave this album a listen after watching the "All My Homies Hate Skrillex" video...at first I knew that there was something personal about this album that immediately stood out, but nothing else really jumped out at me...until I listened to it for the 2nd time....and the 3rd time...then 4th time. End-to-end. All of a sudden I could feel the cold rainy London concrete landscape, all behind my drivers seat, while going for my nightly drives. Beautiful.
Yeah, 13 years ago now. Seems weird to think that it was all the way back in '06 to '08 I was commuting into London and on the Underground and getting into this and dubstep, and I felt so lonely. Even though it was the sound of London, nobody I knew were interested in it or would give it the time of day.
These tracks have been part of my life since they got released . Still remember how, as a young uni student, I used to listen to them whilst wondering around Toruń during night time. Great times and great memories. Today I received my copy of Untrue on vinyl. Thanks for all the fantastic moments!
19 years old, after a club night closed too early, walked along Richmond VIrginia streets with this in my headphones, rolling absolute face with the homies, glad to be experiencing that level of existence. it's been 15 years.
It's truly a testament to Burial's forward-thinking timeless musical genius that not only does this still sound fresh and current, but I hear echoes of his influence scattered among today's musical landscape.
I'm emotionally attached to two things. Skins UK, anytime i hear the intro to the show, because of how long i watch the show for it gives me butterflies in my stomach. The next this is Untrue by Burial. I've been listening to this album on and off for atleast 10 years. I know, I was late to the party but i'm so happy I showed up anyway.
Coming back after 7 years, and still it makes me sleepless. Remembering when the tune hit the decks on BBC Radio 1 together with Burial & Four Tet - Moth + the Fatboy Slim Tunes. Great Times.
Heard this for the first time today.... and it stopped me in my tracks. There's something so jarring and visceral about encountering genius in the wild. Making synths cry like this.... truly awesome.

I’m sure I never heard of this song before. But for some reason it takes me back to the days of my childhood. Things weren’t perfect. But I knew when I’m at home everything was going to be okay. This song reminds me of that secure feeling.
Nobody does it like Burial but Sorrow, Vacant, Volor Flex, Vesky, Davwuh, Sibewest, Nocow, Atu, Bucky, Niels Binias and many more make great Future Garage too. Sadly the genre is losing it's edge now though, it's lost it's ghosty/murky/dark edge and gotten softer and melancholic.

I don't think she did. She followed that by explaining she's a "metal rat" and this is... not metal. I think she was referring to one of the handful of metal sons called "Archangel". (They're all awful, but let's face it - she might be super talented, but her relationship shows she's got seriously dodgy taste.)
