Keep on embarrassing yourself you loser. Coco Gauff won this tournament only because of umpires and organizers of this tournament were stupid beyond belief. This tournament clearly was fixed and scores of this tournament were manipulated by officials and organizers of this tournament to make Coco Gauff a winner of this tournament.

Once in a blue moon she hits a forehand with her left leg in front and leaning into the shot. Her normal tendency is to hit it off her right leg with her body moving upward (not good). I wonder if this is what she's trying to correct. Anyway -- great match for her. Sakkari only held twice.

This was a pleasant surprise. This match could have gone either way but, Coco pulled it off. You can definitely tell that her doubles play has helped her at the net. Sakkari is NOT an easy out and I couldn't be happier for Coco. She just had a coaching change and this is certainly a positive beginning for her. Congratulations!!

hands down coco's best tournament so far. after adding brad gilbert and switching coaches, her forehand, serve, service returns, and depth of shots have all improved tremendously. these qualities along with her athleticism and mentality might make her a real contender against the big 3 in montreal.

    • @gtan307

I would say she fared better with Sabalenka and Rybakina who both played flatter. With Iga, not only she lost every time but she lost too easy in their matchups. Iga’s game is way too much similar with Coco with a lot of spin, but the superior version and Iga’s forehand is a major weapon. In boxing, it’s like saying styles make fights.

What a week for Coco. Winning in DC without dropping a set and against some quality opponents as well. Still think that forehand sits up too much and can be exploited but Coco put it together this week and from a mental standpoint she was incredibly tough.

Yes, because she was heavily favored by dumb organizers and dumb officials. Coco Gauff isn't that good player to win any tournament that easy. @vojtasjedyny She went from 1st round lose to winning a 500. Stop trying to minimize her achievements, her growth, or her hard work. It's gross. I never said the 1000s are a different challenge, but this turn around was remarkable. Also... how is Belinda out of form? She just took Iga to 3... and even if all those people were "out if form" to lose an overage of 4 games per match across the entire tournament is impressive. Simmer down.

@@ivanhall6482 Bencic is out of form. she should have won against Iga. All Bencic does is self destruct and throw tantrums. Really not hard to beat her just takes a mentally stable person

Her forehand looks better but still clearly the weaker of the two wings. I don’t mind the slightly slower pace she has on the forehand wing, but a little more depth would do a lot more damage from that side. Her backhand is world class, but it simply can’t be her only weapon for her to be a serious threat to the likes of Swiatek, Sabalenka, and Rybakina

Coco won this by being more consistent. Return and serve game improved along with the forehand. Sakkari just inconsistent at times and feel sorry for her. Congrats to Coco but still a long way from challenging the top 3 but looking good

Gauff played better than I've seen her all year. Her team made a good decision bringing in Brad Gilbert as a consultant. OTOH, Sakkari totally self-destructed. This match could've been much more competitive.

Reading these comments makes you think Gilbert taught her how to play tennis. She already had a great team and foundation. And as far as I know, her new head coach is Pere Riba.
