Wow i didn't expect Coco will play like this. This is the best game of Coco I've ever watch. Looks like the new coach has tot her well.
I don't think I have ever seen Coco play such a well constructed match. She is really starting to impress

Ummmm like impress where ?? If its fashion yah i can see that but dominant vs a consistent top player ??? I has not seen that yet

There were some very high level points in there. BB was hitting some nice shots and Coco was sending them all back. Compliments to both ladies.
Definitely the best match I’ve seen Coco play on hardcourt. Against a formidable opponent like Bencic at that. Brad is doing wonders for her and is a keeper for sure.
Some guy Pere Riba is coaching her, correct?

This is why I was so thrilled when former Coach Moyano left. I knew - or expected, I should say - that the next coach would lead her to greater heights. I hope this shall be so. Against Samsonova, it is going to be hard but if she can win emphatically, then Coco is succeeding in her "rebuilding" (as she says). The things I liked in this match are: (1). Coco showing positive energy 2. Coco redirecting balls 3. The coaching team communicating with her (in the past she didn't even want to look at the team - when Papa and Moyano were coaching her). 4. CELEBRATING gains/wins - in the past, she mourned her losses with way more energy than when celebrating her wins. Not today!! I liked her team was also celebrating 5. CALLING ON THE CROWD to cheer her when she scored big (more players should do this - it is "FREE ENERGY"

@@vickibaggs3042 Yeah she will need to really stay focused because I have seen her previously when she has shown impressive performance only to drop in the next match and sometime against a lower-ranked player. I hope against Samsonova she prevails and erases this dot in her history

Yeah I was shouting all the time I would watch Coco for her dad to go home and her former coach to be fired.
They had 4 years with her and her forehand and confidence in it got worse.
The hardest thing to do at such high competitive levels is to know when to get a new coach and when not to.
Clearly Coco getting one was long overdue. I think this cost her a slam or two. Hopefully the journey through it all has taught her patience and tenacity.
Before this tournament, her strategy was just to play the ball back. Hardly any initiative and usually passive such that her opponents didn't even need to move that much when she's hitting her forehand straight back to the hitting zone.
Now she's hitting the balls deep, changing angles and being measuredly proactive with her forehand.
And of course she's having so much fan.
I kind felt bad for her opponents last week.
Although not a fan of Coco, but honestly I want to say, for a long time, it feels like this is the best version of Coco Gauff we've ever seen 👍🏻 Well done Coco 👏🏻

this is the best i’ve seen coco play. that forehand wasn’t a real weakness, and her variety was really showing. she could win a grand slam this or next season.
Waiting for Canada or Cincinnati where she will play Sabalenka, Rybakina, or Iga!
Isn’t she 0-7 against Iga? One performance isn’t going to change much. I need to see more against better competition

Yes, but she has upped her game with Brad Gilbert as her swengali. Forehand is better and she is making better decisions on the court.
@@bradleyowusu9589saying “she could win a grand slam” doesn’t mean “she has to beat Iga.” Iga is not going to be in coco’s half every time and if vondrousova can win Wimbledon with only two previous wins on grass in her whole career, coco can win a slam. I agree she’s not going to be the favorite as long as Iga is around

Coco second round match against Elena Rybakina in 2022 Toronto was the best quality I've seen from her. She was building on something wonderful that time last year. She even beat Sabalanka in the next round. This match against Bencic is showing signs of great improvement again. Come on Coco lets win Washington, Canada and US Open.

The key has always been the forehand. When players recognize they can't pick on it, and she can hit consistent winners off of that wing, she'll win that GS. If the FH shows up at a grand slam, she'll win it.

Excellent from Coco but I'm not surprised after seeing her level against Swiatek in the French Open. She was *very* much improved from just 1 year previously, so I expected a tough one for Belinda and Coco will just keep getting better. First time I didn't like her outfit though, I like the bright colours she usually wears.

That was the blockbuster of this WTA tourney. In fact, I had estimated that it was going to be a far more formidable encounter between Gauff and Bencic. However, Coco has entirely subdued Belindad Bencic with her dominance and dictation on the pitch. Most likely, Bencic wasn't in her best day. Massive congrats to Coco Gauff for claiming such a marvellous glory!

Love Brad but whatever Brad has added it's too early to see the results. It has only been a week or two. This is Coco going beast mode.
Apparently he has changed her return positioning so yes it’s made a big difference already. She has more room to swing more aggressively with power.

Same Gauff hype for the last 5 years from her cronies. No one, and I mean NO ONE who has won grand slams, men or women's side hits a loopy forehand like that. LOL at people thinking Gilbert has made this huge difference in just one month. Same Gauff, same forehand, only thing different is daddy Gauff has stepped aside and she seems happier.
