man seeing u say some of the stuff u said here as a none lakers fan just confirms some of the stuff i was thinking abut reaves. no reason he should have had such low shot attempts off cuts and its something jj said he wants to change. Ham was notorious for using players wrong and forcing them to do stuff they were bad at. jaxson hayes post ups, and max christie as a pick and roll ball handler are just some of the top of my head but this was also one of them. i hope jj at least puts players in comfortable situations where they can play to their strengths
Reaves is good at everything, except defense which he’s average at, and ball handling, which he’s great at. If he’s gonna take another step, he needs to become great at shooting, finishing, and passing. Otherwise, he’ll be who he is, which is still a great player.
Austin is a solid starter. I would be extremely surprised if he ever makes an all star game. He's already been in the league 3 years, and he's 26yo. What we've seen is what we're gonna get
Lakers still need another guy to add consistent offense to their lineup. Can’t be counting on DLo and Rui disappointing us every time the lakers expect a good game from them to win a playoffs series.
He should be a much better playmaker by now. He's fallen too much in love with the dribble dribble pull up game. He should definitely leave the Lakers so he can handle the ball more.
I think the main issue is he doesn't fit well with Dlo. Both are below average defensively and need the ball a fair bit to be in rhythm since they both like to take pull-up jumpers and snake around in the midrange. Every time I watch the Lakers play it seems like one of them has a good game and the other one is either trash or invisible.
As a laker die hard, he’s not gonna be what people are hyping him up to be. He entered the league late and doesn’t have that X factor. Let’s be serious…the only reason he’s getting attention is because he’s a laker. Kyle kuzma, lonzo, BI, THT, they all left and so did most of their “fans”. The laker stigma. He’s gonna be a solid player for the rest of his career but that’s it, at most he will be a Lou/crawford type player at worst he’ll be a jameer Nelson type player which is still very solid but that’s it
I’m sorry but Austin reaves is overrated asf idk why nobody takes in to account he as fucking AD AND LEBRON AS ROLL MEN compared to say Steph who had LOONEY AND DRAYMOND last season.
He's not good. Glad the conversation has started early. LeGM will dismiss him unless he starts shooting 45% or more from the corners. Which is all Bron needs when he handles the ball. The dribble pull up of Reeves robs Bron of the assist and crowds the paint for AD. No one looks for the dump off when he drives. Improved passing makes this weakness a strenght.
every time i think of reaves i see the celtics absolutely seeking and destroying him last season, tatum and brown casually jogging through him, reaves recoiling off them like there was an explosion, hes a skilled player but physically is just way below nba average, not a guy whos going to stand up to much attention from his opponent, and hes 26, he is what he is, weird player for basketball people to get so obsessed with
One of the best bags in the league.
For sure
His nickname is hillbilly kobe for a reason 😂
Bag of bricks
He’s best trait is his work ethic, he’s gotten better every year this year shouldn’t be any different.
Ehhh U never know the nba is ultra competitive he’s not gonna be only one trying to get better

He needs to average 20 this season to shut the haters up and be a solid 1-3 option nightly

The problem isn’t his offense per se. It’s his defense, especially next to DLO’s. Bad defensive combination.

above average starter is really what he is
People hating on him like he's making 30+ mil a year. Dude's a bargain for 14+ mil a year
His make or breal sesson already passed he already got his money so now he juat gotta hoop no pressure

role player with an extra +8 pts in him every night if we need it . what more can u ask for
@@whodis5438 exactly that’s great for us but that’s all he’s gonna be lol
He’s hyped up because a laker? He’s a very very smart player with high IQ. He doesn’t try to do anything extra
Jameer Nelson was an all star
U a real life Oomo
irrelevant headline here: AR will be what the team needs...
Mid at best
He's the 4th option.

Well reaves actually destroyed the Celtics without Lebron and AD. Knocked down 7 threes and scored 32. Gotta say the whole story.
Austin Reaves is a bench player on any other team.
Only Kyrie and d wade can thrive as a guard playing with lebron no way is Austin gonna be a start while lebron still playing
