Feride Dogan he comes off as much more enotionally mature now than now, and then add he didn’t have a great upbringing with dysfunctional parents so he didn’t get those healthy restrictions a functional family dynamic would have given him. He’s great for not just excusing his behavior on the fact he had a tough upbringing and he has come a long way but the talk of ”best father” is not a reality when speaking of him or pointing out his view on his gf’s ”flaws” such as her weight. It’s almost like people are so used to abscent fathers that those who stay can almost do no wrong sinoly for being present. But many fathers that do get praised often say not so nice things and do the bare minimum in terms of domestic responsibility like cooking, cleaning and being hands on with the kids in all areas. Making sure the kids get their needs met on their own accord and not just ”help” when told what needs to be done like taking the kids to get new shoes for them.

1:35 in the actual episode. The doctor keeps asking and insisting they look at the baby THE DOCTOR KNEW THEY were placing that baby for adoption. When I did my rounds in nursing school, our second year we spent 3 months in labor and delivery. And we were told everyday. Every clinical day at labor and delivery, our professor and advisors REPEATEDLY told us “don’t tell any woman giving birth to look at her baby. Some are giving them up. Don’t get involved in that”. I hated Cate’s doctor in this Episode. I witnessed ONE couple placing their baby for adoption. And I purposely didn’t get involved (I was only 20). I treated her perfectly and never even talked about the baby. She hugged me as she left and said “thank you for treating me like a human”. 💔Everyone needs love. She was so upset.
Thankyou for treating that patient with respect for her decision. You are awesome. There is more to the episode where they ended up holding her and taking pictures with her. Catelynns mom REFUSED to sign off on the adoption (because Cate was a minor her mom had to sign off on it) and the hospital basically forced Cate to take the Baby and do the transaction down the street.🙈

What an unbelievable human being Tyler is. He is the epitome of selfless. Listening to Catelynn when she's talking about her mental health, not judging, not trying to fix her, desperately trying to understand. So emotional to watch.
I don't understand how two kids who grew up in such turmoil were able to have such a stable relationship. Like holy hell. I had sort of a similar upbringing and I'm completely fked up and my relationships don't last.
They worked a lot and together, just look what both did for each other and for themselves, Tyler tried to be patient with Caty and always support her and Caty did her best for being healthier for her and for her family, she went to rehab, both tried to be a good husband and wife, and good parents, it's an effort of both.
They both understood what each was going through at home. I’ll bet they were the only person in each others lives they could rely on. At the same time they never blamed their parents they just rest the occasion becoming the grown-ups. I’m so happy that once postpartum yet and she saw the cracks from her childhood that they were both on board with therapy. PTSD from a shitty childhood is real. They have never said their childhood was shitty, it was.
I swear I love me some Tyler he was so emotional but masculine at the same time he knows what to say and how to be honest without hurting his wife, he supports her heart and head he’s a rare find and I’m so proud of the way he’s come into manhood and his babies are so cute
They’re so mature even when they were younger facing challenges most people will never go through. Even if they made immature decisions in the past they still managed to fix things. They’re strength & partnership is incredible & inspiring. God is truly with them all the way.

Having mental illness while married is difficult. I myself have severe depression and anxiety, and there were times where I wanted to end things. To the people saying she is manipulative, she is not. If you have not suffered mental illness, then you should have no say in what she is. I feel guilty having mental illness because it hinders me from doing things, so I understand where she's coming from. She feels guilty because she feels like she isn't good enough, she feels like she isn't beautiful, and she feels guilty because she feels like a burden to everyone, especially Tyler! She thinks Tyler deserves better, because of her mental illness, and I say this to my husband mutiple times. I'm just so lucky that my husband decided to educate himself and come with me to my doctor appointments to understand what I'm going through. He's doing his best, and that's all I can ask for. Some of these commenters are unbelievable, and I honestly feel sorry for those who have mental illness and are scared to talk to you because of the stigma you put upon them. People reach out because they want help, not to be judged and left by people.
I'm really sorry for what you're struggling through, but know that there are people who really care. I'm the same with my best friend. She had anger issues/ depression because of her family and her past, and since she opened up to me i was able to help relieve the burden. Of course it's not enough to cancel everything done before by others, but she always thanks me for supporting her and i'm always there saying "you're a perfectly normal, good person that needs help. But we all need help, one or another time. So what?" when she has minor breakdowns. She's one of the best people that i ever had the pleasure to meet and we're inseparable. She's now also a lot better than she was years before and i'm really proud of her. I wish you good luck, and thank your husband for being one of the amazing people that are so supportive and selfless. From how you write, i can say that you're also amazing. When she delivered Carly and the physician asked I'd they wanted to see her Tyler adamantly said no so quickly and with so much emotion it gutted me. To be so young and make this decision had always made them my two favorites.

Anyone who watched this OG knows they watched Tyler saying “He’s going to be the best husband ever” well honey you sure did us right. This young man has made me cry for 10 years. I was a new mom with my second and 24 years old when this originally aired and I’ll never forget loving this couple the most. He’s such a special dude and she’s been a good girl. She’s struggled but man did God give her the right man to struggle with. I wish them both the best.
These two are the only reason I keep up with the show. They made a very adult decision at such a young age despite not having the support of their deadbeat parents to do what was best for their child. That would have broken most couples let alone a young couple. Instead it just made them stronger. They show the ups and downs of so many things, relationships, marriage, adoption, parenting etc and have handled every obstacle together. They are hands down the most real look at being a teen parent, giving up a baby, messed up families, surviving the odds, marriage, and relationships I think reality TV has ever seen.

My husband and I went through a lot of shit, anxiety, depression, suicidal thoughts and he was my rock and so supportive and made sure I was okay. And I did the same for him. I love him so much and am so thankful he is the father of our kids and is such a badass. 14 years down and forever to go
That Dr. Was throwing that poor baby around like crazy. I never realized how hard this had to be for them. They couldn't just hold her like most births and have that great feeling. They are truly strong and incredible at such a young age!
I remember watching their 16 and Pregnant episode when it aired the first time. The way Tyler protectively puts himself between the baby and Catelynn so she doesn't have to see her.... And saying "No, no, no" and reassuring her broke my heart then and breaks it even now. Those were real-life feelings these kids were experiencing and the way they handled that pain was a level of maturity they shouldn't of had to bring forth. You can see Catelynn try so hard to ice her heart over so she wouldn't lose it and Tyler became a man at that moment protecting the woman he loves from something so painful. I only watched a few episodes (frankly, I find the show kind of ridiculous). But I've always rooted for these two! In a world where love can be superficial and temporary, especially at that age, they are the REAL DEAL.
I've been with my husband since 14 I got pregnant at 15 and we got married at 18 were still together and I'm about to be 30 being a teen mom and married young doesnt always end in disaster were happy and blessed with the life we have anything's possible tyler reminds me alot of my husband when you have a great man take care of him and yourself so you both can live your best life together
Every time I see the clip where they are shielding each other from looking at the baby, gives me goosebumps. The fact they met so young had intense family problems and they used that as fuel to develop their bond and values is amazing.
I thought he wad going to leave her for sure when she hooked up with her ex in Florida. But then it got super serious when they went on couples therapy. I for sure thought they were dust when he wanted a "trial" separation. (But I think he just needed some mental health and a vacation from baby sitting to get the farm house ready to live in. )
They are one of those beloved couples that if they ever split up everyone around them would feel it too. They seem to really want to work on their relationship and be happy. That is so important. Always wishing and hoping the best for this family.

Sometimes the most unselfish thing we can do as parents is say, I can't give you the best life. It's not a reflection on you but on my failures. The fact they have stayed in the child's life regardless of how painful it must have been shows what amazing people these 2 are separately and as a whole. Just astonishing to watch them.
When Cate and Ty saw Carly grown up for the first time,I was trying not to cry .Kudos to Tyler for being there for Cate especially through the tough stuff .
They are definitely twin flames 🔥 they met young and grew up together. This relationship may seem toxic bc they are the mirror image of each other (come for kinda some background, lived closed and not to mention their parents.) I think that’s why they have lasted so long compared to the rest of the cast 🤷🏼♀️ they made it work.
The only couple that survived (and I say survived and not lasted because they had some hurdles to overcome) is the one that gave their kid up for adoption.
When she went back to treatment that really hit me. I’ve struggled with anxiety my whole life and the major cause was childhood trauma and it’s hard when you get older. It feels like everyone is always mad at you or that you don’t know why things don’t feel right. I’m so proud of her for going to treatment

Tyler is the best. And separating for a while can be a really great thing. I’ve been with my fiancé since high school and one of the best things we did was live separately for a semester in college. we stayed a couple but i moved to the other side of the state for a few months to do an internship. it actually helped us grow a lot because we had become so dependent on each other. probably saved our relationship tbh they’re an amazing couple. they have their issues for sure but at the end of the day they support each other and want the best for each other and try to communicate... that’s what makes a good relationship

Tyler’s vows made me ugly cry!!! Seriously!!! They’ve always have such a strong relationship-they’ve faced a lot of adversity today. It’s very admirable. Maci is my favorite OG mom but Catelynn and Tyler will always be my favorite couple. And I love that Carly was able to be at their wedding, she has great adoptive parents. When she’s older she’ll really appreciate their decision when she realizes that she’ll always have two sets parents that love her.

I don't understand how two kids who grew up in such turmoil were able to have such a stable relationship. Like holy hell. I had sort of a similar upbringing and I'm completely fked up and my relationships don't last.

They worked a lot and together, just look what both did for each other and for themselves, Tyler tried to be patient with Caty and always support her and Caty did her best for being healthier for her and for her family, she went to rehab, both tried to be a good husband and wife, and good parents, it's an effort of both.
They both understood what each was going through at home. I’ll bet they were the only person in each others lives they could rely on. At the same time they never blamed their parents they just rest the occasion becoming the grown-ups. I’m so happy that once postpartum yet and she saw the cracks from her childhood that they were both on board with therapy. PTSD from a shitty childhood is real. They have never said their childhood was shitty, it was.

Having mental illness while married is difficult. I myself have severe depression and anxiety, and there were times where I wanted to end things. To the people saying she is manipulative, she is not. If you have not suffered mental illness, then you should have no say in what she is. I feel guilty having mental illness because it hinders me from doing things, so I understand where she's coming from. She feels guilty because she feels like she isn't good enough, she feels like she isn't beautiful, and she feels guilty because she feels like a burden to everyone, especially Tyler! She thinks Tyler deserves better, because of her mental illness, and I say this to my husband mutiple times. I'm just so lucky that my husband decided to educate himself and come with me to my doctor appointments to understand what I'm going through. He's doing his best, and that's all I can ask for.
Some of these commenters are unbelievable, and I honestly feel sorry for those who have mental illness and are scared to talk to you because of the stigma you put upon them. People reach out because they want help, not to be judged and left by people.

She had anger issues/ depression because of her family and her past, and since she opened up to me i was able to help relieve the burden. Of course it's not enough to cancel everything done before by others, but she always thanks me for supporting her and i'm always there saying "you're a perfectly normal, good person that needs help. But we all need help, one or another time. So what?" when she has minor breakdowns.
She's one of the best people that i ever had the pleasure to meet and we're inseparable.
She's now also a lot better than she was years before and i'm really proud of her.
I wish you good luck, and thank your husband for being one of the amazing people that are so supportive and selfless. From how you write, i can say that you're also amazing.

These two are the only reason I keep up with the show. They made a very adult decision at such a young age despite not having the support of their deadbeat parents to do what was best for their child. That would have broken most couples let alone a young couple. Instead it just made them stronger. They show the ups and downs of so many things, relationships, marriage, adoption, parenting etc and have handled every obstacle together. They are hands down the most real look at being a teen parent, giving up a baby, messed up families, surviving the odds, marriage, and relationships I think reality TV has ever seen.
I've always thought his wedding vows to her were the most beautiful and sincere that I've ever heard on reality TV ever. Such a thoughtful young man. 💜💛

That Dr. Was throwing that poor baby around like crazy. I never realized how hard this had to be for them. They couldn't just hold her like most births and have that great feeling. They are truly strong and incredible at such a young age!
The best couple in the shows franchises - I stopped watching long ago bout I’m so glad they stayed together and have gone in to have this life.
I remember watching their 16 and Pregnant episode when it aired the first time. The way Tyler protectively puts himself between the baby and Catelynn so she doesn't have to see her.... And saying "No, no, no" and reassuring her broke my heart then and breaks it even now. Those were real-life feelings these kids were experiencing and the way they handled that pain was a level of maturity they shouldn't of had to bring forth. You can see Catelynn try so hard to ice her heart over so she wouldn't lose it and Tyler became a man at that moment protecting the woman he loves from something so painful. I only watched a few episodes (frankly, I find the show kind of ridiculous). But I've always rooted for these two! In a world where love can be superficial and temporary, especially at that age, they are the REAL DEAL.

I’ve been with my fiancé since high school and one of the best things we did was live separately for a semester in college. we stayed a couple but i moved to the other side of the state for a few months to do an internship. it actually helped us grow a lot because we had become so dependent on each other. probably saved our relationship tbh

Tyler’s vows made me ugly cry!!! Seriously!!! They’ve always have such a strong relationship-they’ve faced a lot of adversity today. It’s very admirable. Maci is my favorite OG mom but Catelynn and Tyler will always be my favorite couple. And I love that Carly was able to be at their wedding, she has great adoptive parents. When she’s older she’ll really appreciate their decision when she realizes that she’ll always have two sets parents that love her.
This was a cute thing to watch. I am glad they are still going strong and can't imagine trying to be happy for your kids when anxiety and depression is something hard to cope with.
