Just like the other comments said, this was the best (BY FAR) review comparison I’ve seen. Been looking for this kind of video as I had placed and order for the farm stand. Then got to wondering about these other systems and if I made the right choice. Honest, easy to understand, informative. Thanks for the video!!
Excellent, was trying to decide between the Gardyn 3.08 and the Lettuce Grow, after watching your video I'm going with the Lettuce Grow, as much as I would prefer a wall unit, the large tank and durability of the Lettuce Grow and your honest comparison sealed the deal. Thank You so very much. What I liked about your video was there was no HYPE just an honest down to earth review of the 3 units.
Thank you so much for your compassionate and honest review. You have definitely saved us time and money. Your review, is fully explained in detail, making this one by far the best one, my strong opinion. You were funny too. 😂 I appreciate you. Thank you.😊
I was QA for Lettuce Grow. When I started with the company Lettuce Grow was my home on the line. I have made and put together thousands of them and then Q.A. I fell in love the second I saw them and so thank to have mine. They are the best and durable.
Excellent reviews! Thanks for real-world perspective, thoroughness, and hard truths, disclosing downsides hard to hear about. Tips about customizations are invaluable. THANKS!!
Thank you, Keith for this insightful review. This was a great way to learn all about these systems. Great idea using the Mylar tape! I loved all of your customizations, actually. Take care!
I noticed you are growing blue berries, what type of blue berries are they and are they hard to grow . I'm new to hydroponics and because of what you had to say I purchase the I harvest
Awesome and needed- thank you for sharing your experience with all 3 of these! I’m pretty much in agreement with your assessment as well. As a newbie with the lovely Lettuce Grow I was interested in your opinion of the light quality, as with the iHarvest that I enjoy so much. I am surprised that the lettuce varieties I’m growing are almost mature in size at 26 days, but have very mild coloring. I’m used to them being deep reds in some and rich speckles, as in my small units, but apparently the lights don’t have enough intensity, even with the proximity to the lights- another factor that I learned from my African Violet days- proximity/duration/intensity all need to be considered to set up a good light environment. I’d appreciate your thoughts on the Lettuce Grow lighting or what plants you recommend for their lights? Seeing a pepper growing successfully with them is quite a surprise! Your input is very helpful for those of us with a lot to learn! 🌻
Peppers grow good in the Lettuce Grow. I have two small bell pepper plants in the backside also. I also just removed two huge pepper plants that were producing because I wanted to change variety. The light color makes a big difference on your lettuce greens color. It seems more red/pink makes a big difference.
I agree with 100% of what you said about the Gardyn unit. I had the 2.0 & 3.0 and just sold them recently. Disappointed in many aspects. Looking to buy a Lettuce Grow now. Wondering if they will be coming out with a new version of the farm stand anytime soon? Their Nook is too small for me.
Yes, I bought 2 Home Tower Gardens and 2 Flex Tower Gardens off MarketPlace for great prices. I guess people don't appreciate indoor growing here in Texas where we can garden outdoors for so much of the year.
Great review. Are longer roots really a good thing for the plant or do shorter roots (and an otherwise healthy plant) mean that it’s getting the sufficient nutrients it needs with shorter roots?
With a large root system, the plant can absorb more nutrients and oxygen. You will never see a big massive plant with tiny roots. Look at my Poblano plant. It is 6 foot tall with massive roots.
I ordered that light for Becky’s strawberry tower today- studying it over made it the clear winner for the best choice for coverage. Thank you for saving me a lot of time trying to figure this out! 🍓
Just found you as I am getting ready to plant seedlings from my Bounty Elite into the iHarvest. Cleaned the iHarvest yesterday after only 3 months of kale, and it was so full of algae. I’d thought I’d covered the base of the plants enough to stop that, but you’re right, light just goes right through the plastic of the unit. While it’s empty I think I’ll run out and get some Mylar to cover it. Thanks so much for your videos- will be following you and watching everything you put up. Happy New Year 😊
Hi, Thanks for your video as it was very helpful. We just purchased and I harvest and were wondering where you got the T valve that hooks to the pump so you can drain the tank. We are wondering what type and the size to get? Thanks. Jeff
What I did was order an extra hose from Iharvest. Then, I took that hose to Lowes to find the parts I needed. I think it was 3/4in, but you are better off test fitting yourself.
Thanks for your reply. I went to Home Depot and found a valve, and a T connector. It was for a 1/2” inner diameter hose. Thanks for your TH-cam tip. It worked great! Now it’ll be easier to drain it when it comes. Time to clean it.! Thanks again. Jeff
Awesome review! You actually helped me decide on which unit to get. WHere can I get the tape you affixed to the iHarvest? Also, does that unit make a lot of noise? Thanks again for being so honest! =)
Have you had any experience with the Tower Garden by Juice Plus? I am debating between the Lettuce Grow Farmstand and the Tower Garden? I wonder if the lights on farmstand should be farther out from the plant. The bigger plants grow out beyond the lights?
I have not used it. It looks like a fantastic system for large plants. It looks to be good quality and made strong. Can you adjust the lights to be further away?
@@KeithRanly Yes, they hang from the top down on a flexible tube allowing to move it closer or farther away from plants. BUT I understand the lights are NOT full spectrum minimizing what you can grow. Do you find the Lettuce Grow lights adequate? You have it in a grow room so it benefits from all your other lighting. What if it was not in the grow room, would the lights on system be enough?
@@CAMDEC1217 Most people do not have the lettuce grow in a grow room like me. And I never see people having issues of not getting enough light. I am sure it does help my pepper plants being in the grow room. If you want to grow smaller plants Lettuce Grow just came out with a new system you may want to check out.
Thank you for sharing this. I’m playing around with three table top hydroponic units (AeroGarden knockoffs from Amazon) to see if I’ll be committed enough to continue with this and scale up. I like the Lettuce Gro of the three for my space. Have you thought about placing some inexpensive water leak sensors at the base of each just to monitor for leaks. I’m referring to the battery operated type that can either send out an audible alarm (100 dB) or in the case of the fancier ones also an SMS alert. I just bought some for my water heater pans and HVAC overflow pans. Thanks again for sharing your expertise.
From talking to others, you get a small amount. If you add a huge 400-watt light like I did, it is major algae. Unless you add the reflective tape. Then it is zero algae.
The honest facts given make this THE best review out there! Thank you for sharing the facts- much appreciated!

@BlaqueBuddafly1 How's it going with the Lettuce Grow? I'm thinking about choosing that one, too.

Just found your channel. Looking at possibly purchasing the iHarvest. Can you explain the cover you have over the bottom water tank? Purpose???
It prevents light from getting into the system. Light will cause algae and lots of plant issues.
Looking forward to your next video !
Awesome breakdown

I have not thought about that since it is in my basement. But that is a good idea. Attach a link to what you use.
Do you have a video for aerogarden system like the large farm
Sorry, I do not have one of those units.
Do you ever experience leaf burn on the LG? I do quite a bit but otherwise love the system.
Not unless the plant is touching the light.
How do you keep the plants from touching the Lettuce Grow lights? They all seem to hit them pretty quick.@@KeithRanly
@@lisaamante5384 Your only option is to harvest more often.
Great information -- thank you!
now you need to get a juice plus tower garden to complete the comparison... hydroponic designs has a tower too
Well, they would have to send me one for free. I already have 4 large units not in use. Those units do look nice.
Do u think strawberries will do good in the gardyn?
They tend to get root rot in the Gardyn due to lack of oxygen.
No B.S. reviews. Thank you.
Any thoughts with the Tower Garden?
I have not used one. But I think they would be great for big plants.
Thank you
