    What I took out of this. Here is a multi- millionaire, very , very successful musician, well known , yet he seems super, super excited on a Thursday night to talk about music with another person on his level with knowledge. He deep down is just a regular JOE, who loves music like the 55k who listens to PETES show daily. His childhood memories about The WHO / Tommy was tremendous. He was not a good co- host, he was AWESOME. Absolutely, loved this Episode. Tremendous job PETE! 👍💯

    I want to share a small personal story about pink floyd the wall, I was not much of a music listener at all, except for some random stuff you might come across on the tele. but when I was around 15 I had a math teacher in school who was also a guitar player in a small band and he was always harping on and on and on about pink floyd as if they were the second coming of Jesus himself. so one day out of sheer curiosity I was like I want to see for myself what the hell is this pink floyd. so I went to a record store and I said "give me pink floyd" and they were like "which album?" I was such a noob when it comes to music that I did not even know what an "album" was but I did not want to sound like an idiot or show that I did not know what I was talking about so I just said nonchalantly "any album is fine" lol, so he was like ok this is the the wall and this is a double album, when he said the word "double" it rung a bell in my head, hmm double I guess I am getting something more, ha ha, so I was like ye that will do. And I bought it, and the rest as they say is history! maybe someone would find my little account amusing or interesting, it is 100 percent true story word for word!

Harmony singing, songwriting, musicianship and diversity ..e.g. they changed dramatically to produce the 'Satuday Night Fever' sound, as yyou as a fan will know ... but I wonder if others do .. as folks do tend to listen to the 'hits' and make the poor assumption that that is what the artist 'sounds like' as Pete has covered on here before... :-)

    It's funny how much love "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road" gets. We played the entire album live at Reggie's in Chicago about 4 o 5 years ago? Sonus Umbra as the band for Brian Harris, who is a local guy that has Kieth Emerson chops, but wanted to be Elton. My favorites are the opening tracks and Grey seal. Gotta say that playing it is a lot less fun than listening to it. Especially "Jamaica Jerkoff" and some other sleepers, by which I mean I was bored, but not the audience. Some of those deep track tunes are really clever. I was surprised by the harmony in some of them.

Umma...all of our summers of years listening to that, oh my. I think the only albums, that were, for me, as moving: Montrose/Montrose; Santana's Abraxas; Stones, Exile; Wishbone Ash, Argus.

    • @ronforeman2556
      @ronforeman2556 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Stevie had an incredible run during the '70s, with one landmark album after another: "Talking Book" (1972) #3 Pop, #1 R&B; "Innervisions" (1973) #4 Pop, #1 R&B; "Fulfillingness' First Finale" (1974) #1 Pop, #1 R&B; "Songs In the Key of Life" (1976) #1 Pop, #1 R&B.
