    Really like the way you do things. The right way! I was taught as a young kid that if it is good enough to do, then it should always be done the right way first as it will not only save you money but, a lot of grief in the future. Solar, however, has been challenging for me as I didn't have a good grasp on electrical diagrams or how everything else works. So, it is always a new learning experience. I put disconnect switches on my panel ground mounts and additional disconnect switches outside the PV entry to my Sol-Ark 12k as well as disconnect switches from my battery bank system. In addition to fuses I feel that you can't have too many ways to cut power off if any emergency arises. Keep up with your great videos!

      Thanks Craig. Yes I agree if it is worth doing its worth doing right. The Solark is a great inverter. I’m doing one at my house. Just make sure everything is good and tight/torqued. Sounds like you have lots of connections. If they are loose they can heat up. I have a thermal imaging flir phone attachment that I check stuff with some time

    Thank you for your videos . Can you share where you get your bypass box from and which model?

    Thank-you ! I have a 5KVA 230v Pure Sine Wave 48v & I have 15 Pcs 3.2v 280A for 48v in series it’s still 280A , I have the Moes Automatic Transfer Switch to a 100A Double Pole Breaker & I have a brand New Siemens BreakerBox and to charge the Batteries I have 3 Car Alternators 2 Gm 1 wire High Amp 100 ~ 120A and a Ford Masada 150A the alternator creates Ac Current , I have 3 - 12v Dc motors to spin the alternators but my issue is my PV input on inverter input has to be 48v to charge battery bank & to use the electrical “ Thank you “ I know less than some who knows anything ! But I’m trying to keep my family safe when the grid goes down like with this Ida storm !

    Aren't you always supposed to disconnect solar first?

    • @GainSolarPower
      @GainSolarPower  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes if there is a disconnect. Didn’t want to do it at the equipment for fear of a spark which would burn the terminal, possibly damage the equipment

    Good video! Can I get some grits with that solaar? :)

    Ouch, that's an accident waiting to happen. No disconnects on anything, I'm amazed that nothing got popped when it was originally installed.

      There is definitely some sub par work out there. I enjoy fixing the botched installs

    Say, since you have a disconnect in the solark why didn’t you put the doc disconnect at the panels instead of on the other side of the wall the inverter is on

    Do you happen to have used magnum inverters for sale. I would prefer a 48v split phase if possible.

    Your comment about the power grid sending power for miles is not the same as the solar panels. Solar panels are DC current .. not AC current which was developed for traveling long distances.

    Awesome video. Can you tell me if the solark has a zero export feature. I'm trying not to get involved in net metering. Thks

      @GainSolarPower  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes feel free to email me
      Jv@gainsolarpower.com
      They call it limited power to home in the manual but it is zero export
      They use CT’s to achieve this feature

    What insulated gloves do you prefer? Can't remember which video it was in but I tried catching the name on the gloves, saw something flex.

    Good vid. You said he oversized his feeders? I'm not a solar guy but 10awg is rated @ 35 amps(@75°C)so he's gotta use #8 to feed a 40 amp load right?

    • @GainSolarPower
      @GainSolarPower  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I knew someone would catch that. He oversized the feed to the magnum. It only needs 10/3. He could have used 10awg

    100kv / 200kv / 500kv is what runs on the power lines, don't quote me on the first two. It's a mega butt load though.

      We were just lifting the connections hot for dramatic effect, and because I didn’t wanna spark the equipment, but there was no load.
