Shoutout to Genius for featuring a producer for a change
Chris Smith Fr
SHOULD'VE HAD DR. DRE
TERRELL TURNER foh dre boring. "id rather rape a zay track than a dre track." atlanta producers are unstoppable.
Isaac V they're pretty damn stoppable when you put them up against the best producer in hip hop history.
Craig White genius is just expand their line or work from just rap to everything. I like it better
It's crazy how these big producers create these hits with like 2 or 3 sounds and I be sitting around trying to make my shit complex
Zordon of the ghetto And how would you know if you haven't heard any of my shit before???
Zordon of the ghetto How is that bashing?... I never said that it sucked I just said that it was simple and he basically says it himself and what I was saying was you don't have to make your beats so complex to make a banger or hit no hate at all and I have some beats uploaded on my page
Zordon of the ghetto You got it wrong. Dumb ass nigga
Kevin O. Exactly bro like I never said that the beat suck I find it amazing that he made a simple beat that is now the number 1 song out if anything I'm trying to learn from him and do the same we all should be but still remain original don't just copy him
Doc Kaos815 aka Kapone815 broooo I feel you on that...like I be over thinking it,but at the same time I want it to be like a masterpiece
producers be really underrated
Nyxel fr
Nyxel not for artists
Metro Boomin is the only producer who gets mad love lol. Every other producer nobody cares about, they need more credit for real
Jens9807 cause he the best with that trap shit and he so young
Dj mustard puts his signature on every track
You know a song gonna slap when you hear "Mike Will made-It" before the beat drops
Yeah.... not all of them
"We Can't Stop" is one of the worst cross-over pop songs of last decade. Change my mind.
@@bison301 Most. Mike Will has some hard beats.
@@QJ89 funny you say that because Mike Will has re-used Miley's Mike Will thing in this song and others from Rae Sremmurd. I am not arguing your opinion. Just wanted to point this out since you mentioned Miley's song with him.
1:45 cant believe hes holding down the wrong note
Right!!! He had it correct at first
😂😂😂
😭😭
The thing that makes the beat good is when it flows with "that girl is a real crowd pleaser," it just sounds good.
Steven The beat is good in general
its the perfect line
Syncopation, my friend.
one of his best beats he ever made
PSTRILLA no bruh that beat was easy as fuck. He took an arp and some nexus big bells or some shit
Gilgamesh South easy or not, the key is to work smarter not harder especially if u got a system that works, if it ain't broke why fix it
***** Yeah okay that's true but I still do not think that it's his best beat ever
Gilgamesh South we agree to disagree which is fine with me but in this instance I feel like this was a more creative beat he ever put together in a few years
FOR SURE! This and Buy The world in my opinion!!
Mike Will doesn't get as many props as he should. His sound doesn't get tired.
Raul V everybody is still riding the Metro wave but realistically Mike will has been the best out for the last couple years but Metro is my boy tho he's mad talented
Bruh is probably getting 100-250k per beat, I'm pretty sure he's doin OK
Jaamie B I'm not talking money wise. I'm saying, I don't see him getting as much acknowledgement as other producers.
Raul V I see your point, I feel like only Metro and Zay get more shine than Mike Will really in the trap production game. But honestly I'd prefer to live it like Mike, making bank for every beat but still being low-key enough to be able to go outside or go to a club without getting swamped
Raul V I liked his record will schoolboy q
Swae Lee makes creating hits seem so effortless.
bruh high school kids do this level shit on the regular. for real i'm not even a hater like that but it's scary how easy it is to achieve this level. Shit is not popular because its good. its popular because it is on beat has a simple melody and has a character attached to it that people can idolize or be interested in.
What laptop is he using ?
I'M THE GODDAMN REASON U GOT THAT RING
Amazing how the simplest things can make the biggest impact! Zaytoven even said that was one of the main things he discovered... coming from a church background, he was able to pick up on the keys, which is why trap beats are effortless for him and keeps him in his own lane; he found that the artists these days, especially the rappers prefer simple but shit that knocks! It is what it is... but Zaytoven is a real musician as well. Technology is a mf...--- easy $$$ these days
Copper Mile Arts then show us your work.
Drinking game: take a shot every time he says "you know what I'm sayin"
Alan Rodriguez i passed out in 2mins
Every time he says 'just fuckin' around with it'

We got one for you. Check us out and I'll make it worth your while
is it the one from the intro that has a little percussion added to it?? im looking for the sound
Knowing how the beat kinda got made and how it all came together makes me appreciate this song a lot more actually.
Mike "you know what I'm sayin" Will Made It
lmao
JDG-XYZ LMAO my chest hurt from laughing so hard
JDG-XYZ lmfao
mike always come hard with the beats so ill yet so simple
Chris Frazier i
Chris Frazier yeah presets are a huge live saver
Mike will played a lot of gta V heist. 😂 this sound like when you are waiting.
i have to agree, it's like they chopped that part from the loading screen, made it in a loop to create the arp and mixed it a little bit
He just held down the letter g on his keyboard using secret missions preset on the dune 2 plug in lol
@@thomdotexe He used E lmao
Oh mann you reminded me of alot of memories
@@Darknight-zk6ky Yeah man remember playing this game on the old gen(ps3 and xbox 360), waiting times where tremendous long.
XD
"And I was like how can I make this shit sound weird"
Orbit Taviare fucking filter that's all
TrippyTripper what? Can you elaborate a lil more please
"You know what I'm saying?"

I don't need to see how black Beatles was made...... Mike Will Made-It
ohoh just go away niqqh
Ethan Cryder then why are you here
Then why watch the video then ?
r/wooosh
😂😂😂
Swae Lee really knows how to write them catchy hooks. But Mike Will did his thing here
Love what producers like Mike Will are doing for the game. Always bringing something different. And I think IamProfessorO is bringing something different to the table too. Wont be long until hes known cuz his stuff is crazy. Think he has some stuff up on youtube for those who don't know him
A lot of the time, the most genius (no pun intended) musical pieces and most successful songs are based on simplicity and what you can do with it. I struggle with this, but I’ve gotten better. Very educational to watch others write/produce. Thanks for this, all!
That girl is a real crowd pleaser
She really is..
Albert Williams
ah la la..
Albert Williams the hook just as good as the beat
Small world, all her friends know me.
Young bull livin like a old geezer release the cash watch it fall slowly
like......you know what im sayin right.....like
Actual Dweeb hahahahaha
Yo
that's the national dropout language
He used Secret Mission KS on Dune 2
Actual Dweeb I knew it! I knew someone was gon comment this lmao
"Hew noh-ei sai'n," means "May my thoughts be upon you" in his native language. Fascinating; you learn something new every day.
Specter Ranger w
Specter Ranger lmfao I laughed so fucking hard
LMFAO
This guy has a good ear for music. The melody's he writes combine the minor and major scales tones together perfectly.
The studio he is in is dope af. Wrote a bunch of songs there the past couple years. Everyone is cool af
When it sounds super complex and you think it took the producer months to make it but it was just a fuckin ARP (no hate)
†ropicAcidulous yep lol.
†ropicAcidulous dead ass or if not it's a sample 😂
SNKRHEADLOU978 true
***** ye ye i know i myself produce beats a lot and get completely what you're saying, I'm just fucking around
shitty dune 2 preset
After all these years he still hasn't worn out his sound
That's why co-producers are so important
FaceClef Yirist h
David Versace unlike dj mustard with his template beats lol
He doesn't do the same beats
TheMusic24Seven Mustards beats straight trash bruh ..
This nigga Mike Will lowkey rich as fuck and can make anything a hit
Expletion "know what I'm saying"
Expletion better then dj kahled who doesn’t even produce
Mike Will : Gucci like how you want the beat like you knoimsayenn
Gucci : Light but excessive
Mike Will : * plays beat *
Gucci : Mind Blowing
Yo we need more videos like this. All music enthusiasts are going crazy rn
this is the golden age of producers. so much talent out there
hahahahaha okay kid
TRIGGERED meat beater
this is false
Daniel K All of them changed the sound of hip hop
Every age, someone says that, and there's 10 others who will say nah the previous age was better. Good on you for having an opinion tho.
What's amazing about Mike is how down to earth he is. He is by far the best producer out right now!!
Nah nah. You sleeping on Zaytoven then.
Not really...I went through his catalog. Not as diverse in my opinion.
+Omar Gonzalez you goofy
Southside has been my favorite producer for a while, but I can't ignore the sheer creativity that goes into Mike Will's beats.
He's like TM88 but more chill/"pop" nowadays.
Mike's stuff with Future was lit though, Sh!t will always be one of my favorite beats.
Nah metro Boomin is killing it
that hook is crazy!!
Facts
Smoke in the air......Binge drinking
ASUS ROG, yea that's beat
It's quite common for creators to use gaming focused laptops, as they usually are optimized for performance and low latency.
Org indo
Waduh
Mike Will is awesome. He makes beats that sound like video game music. Black Beatles and Powerglide both have awesome beats in them and this man made Rae Sremmurd blow up.
he literally just held that shit down... just goes to show your melodies dont always need to be complex
Stony Tark its an arp what should he have done different
lol someone still had to decide the note changes at some point
Stony Tark cause it was an arpegiator -_- all arpegiators is holding the key it's not really for making melodies but more for background music like syns
perhaps it was the default preset and he didnt change anything
U know what I'm sayin
Mocg ? I read the comment and he said that
Mocg ? Same
Nasiking 113 yeessssss
dude he keeps saying that for whole 3 mins
just watch his interview with breakfast club
I really think beat makers should make more money than artist what they do is so complicated there so talented.
Ryan Beckham Let's hear your beats player.
***** just bc i said beats are easy to make doesn't mean i'm saying rapping is easy. anyone can lay the foundation for the track. it's creating the melody that's difficult. But as you can see from Mike, he literally is just HOLDING DOWN ONE ARPEGGIO NOTE down for the entire melody. He then layers ontop with a simple piano
***** love you boo boo. have a goodnight bae
zarbon back rappers were lyrical yes but for these new guys shit they saying what ever and getting away with it
Eddie Lopez And thats ok. Rap isn't always about lyricism. And even if is it, then stop calling them rappers. Its more about the sound now, Plus there are plenty great lyrical rappers out now. Stop
For a song so focused on the "rhythm and melody" it looks like most people are getting pretty good at standing completely still while it's bumping 😂😂
That arpeggiator and the melody reminds me of something from an 80s SI-FI movie. Love this beat
What's so cool about this is that he just goes with the flow. He's talking like "Look I really don't have this down to a Science, it just comes to me."
mike will made comes out of no were and makes a hit, one of my favorite producer's.
Hes had hits almost every year tf?
lmao out of nowhere?
man you sleep
A.J Gonzalez He been had hits lmao
i think what he's tryna say is that mike will makes a hit then stays quiet for a bit and then comes back and makes another hit, and the cycle continues.
Please more of these!!
IamTheSecretary Can you guys too Sonny Digital making of Back To L.A.?
was I the only one who was jamming to this beat the whole time
Creed 1710 nope me too lmao
This guys using an Asus Republic of Gamers Laptop
*what a legend*
He's a genius - you know what I'm sayin'? 😂
Mike Will need to give some beats to Max B when he gets home.
Claude Corleone fareal!! that would be dope af!
Claude Corleone OK I see somebody loves boss don
Fuck yeah

Producer of the year. That H.G.T.V. by Push goes in. Mike having a great year rn
Ahjee Parker producer of the year most def is metro boomin
TheRandomwizard Metro year was definitely last year
HGTV is one of the worst beats of all time
Shoutout FL Studio
Kame that Omnisphere. Kontakt, and Nexus
i need it bad but cant afford it
idk how to i wish i knew how
is there anyway you can link me it?
J3r3m1ah ight
Just two synth sounds! Producers, you don't need a million sounds in your beats to make it hot! Simplicity is key here! Mike Will also used that DUNE VST on Future's "Itchin." The main melody in that song was an arpegiator.
audiodopebeats you don't need tons of layers to make trap .
Yea but you gotta know how to make a beat catchy. Everybody can't do that
Very true. Simplicity is an artform in itself. That's why I think DJ Mustard, especially during his run, didn't get enough credit.
Marlon Hall exactly. Nowadays people like catchy shit so either the beat gotta be catchy, or the nigga rhyming gotta have a mean ass flow that make everybody boo they heads
I miss having this on replay when it came out
0:41 that 808 goes so hard 🔥 🔥 🔥
ID LOVE TO SEE MORE BEAT MAKING VIDEOS
DoubleD 613 definitely!
DoubleD 613 go to zaytovens cook ups
Man this guy is talented. Just the vision and the skills
Mike Will is the best producer out here right now
and metro boomin
tm88
Cardo
facts
damn i guess you just started listening to modern rap then
Damn this really was the time I started falling in love with music and making it myself, takes me back, take me back.
mike will really understands the art of simple hits. It really does take talent to not over produce but add just enough.
Just realized the other day I been sleeping on this track, very interesting video!
You crazy
TheRealBeatMaster facts
i love these so much
It's crazy seeing him blow up I remember when I would only hear him on Gucci Mane mixtapes!!
That shit goes even harder now... After seeing how it was made and how quickly it can turn into a hit just from that initial start out vibe.
If you're in a party with your friends, tell 'em to drink a shot every time this man says "like"
Thank you for not using a macbook. That Asus ROG is hella dope
Stephen McAllister but why is he using a gaming laptop to make music
because they have the most processing power and capabilities.
***** cause maybe he rather have a bomb ass gaming laptop to go with a bomb ass recording studio and still be able to produce dope ass beats? it's sad how apple creates their stories and makes everyone believe what they say is true.
+Stephen McAllister gaming while making beats lol
I have the exact same model. Kills the game.
Notice how this successful music producer doesn't use a MacBook
yes. Shit is overrated af
PCtechenthusiast yeah. that look like a gaming PC. let me find out mikewillmadeit is a gamer! 👀
PCtechenthusiast hes not successful hes a nobody
101712s shut the fuck up you fuck ass boii
notice how hes using a iphone
Arpeggios are maaaaad underrated
Vulgarus I use em all the time
Vulgarus i feel like im cheating with arps unless i change the patterns and melody myself.
Jonny Ray that's how I felt too .. felt like a short cut
Arps are boring to me, I did rather make my own melody.
Not if you’re a guitar
Player
To all the hip hop haters who thinks its a talentless genre, this video proves that a lot work work is actually put into production of instrumentals and sound editing.
Actually, this probably isn't the best example considering he just laid 5 elements on the track. I'm sure (at least I hope) he did tons more to the beat that simply wasn't shown, but what was shown was something that anyone with a copy of FLS can do with minimal effort/training. Really hope you were being sarcastic.
DezzmanX lol yeah I know im just in general that there is a lot of technology that also goes into hip hop production than just one computer. Yeah this song was simple another better example would be maybe kanye's late registration where a lot more was added than just drum machines
I love how chill and hesitant he sounds. He's like "ya know, I sorta feel like da hi hats gives some character to it ya know?" And he makes a hit.
Makes producing look so fun
It's hard asf fam
Simply Dope facts. They didn't show him adjusting the tuning, "snap to grid", filters, compression, distortion and many other steps taken to polish the beat.
FIRSTNAMEMARKO yeah this makes production look wayyy easier. People don't even understand the skill and detail it takes to be good
J Savage fr! There's so much small technical shit that you have to do in order to make the beat internet/radio ready.
GENIUS!! Keep this up. i love this sooo much get all the producers you can to talk to you about the latest stuff they made. please this is out of this world amazing because of the little stuff. its so dope
Always thinks its crazy how I can go over the same patches as him and not think any of em, but then songs like black Beatles come out
I have to come back to this video BC the drums alone is amazing AF.
most legendary beat ever
anytime you hear EAR DRUMMERS MIKE WILL MADE IT you know it's a straight banger facts
Best beat ive heard in the longest time.
It's like he only speaks music lol. Know what I'm saying?
Rayndom Nayme no not really, he's just mentioning pretty basic terms
Nobody
Mike will made it : i just created a beat and i was just fucking with it
Also mike will made it : creates a masterpiece
Met him in person this dude is the coolest most humble producer
So much love for him, he's always working and staying out of trouble. Mike, lemme hold a dolla
We need a swae lee and Mike will solo tape
He'll go solo soon. Slim is trash asf
Lil Reese Cup they're brothers they gone always rock together
King E So? Clipse were also brothers and they were making good ass music but even then they still went solo. It always happens no matter what
Lil Reese Cup malice wanted to go gospel at least thats what I heard they were on 2 different paths... These 2 have a winning formula no need to go solo... If it ain't broke don't fix it
King E FACTS
i hope im not the only one that opened fl studio after watching this video but miserably failed at making a good beat
mustafa ali you not the only one
mustafa ali Everyone with FL Studio did the same bro
mine fl already was open lol
I opened that mufucka up and made a dope ass beat
is FL studio an online music maker
Legendary beat!!!! Still listen to Black Beatles in 2023
So simple to make iconic stuff
Nail on the head he said he was after a 90s r&b sound. And that's exactly what a feel from the song Boss
Nissan Mechanic yes the video was also seemed 1990
MegaMetinMetin yup
That studio is fucking insane. Goals.
Hate to say it but Swae Lee would really blow up if he went solo, thats fucked up tho lol Dude has a talent for hooks and writing melodies
He announced a solo album..
Ben Hurst didnt know that, i don't keep up with their music that often. I bet it does good though i'll give it a listen when it drops
franchisejr15 I heard they're thinking of doing solo projects. Sway could easily write for some of the best
His brother his holdin him back
franchisejr15 so would quavo but that's not the smartest move
Literally mike will every beat that he makes is so good that i cant stop listening to it , Legend
What is the plugin that mike uses in the second 0:40? Where he placed the claps, kicks, 808's and hit hats
I struggle to make the hi hats sound like that
sample.
invest in better samples.
not really
just fuck with the timing, 1/8th 1/16th 1/32nd 1/16th etc..
Practice with what Mr. B said. Its not hard!!
The beat made that song a hit tbh
If ppl chat shit about fl studio to me again ill send them this vid.
RickReezi most music is made on fl studio these days.. but it really dont matter what you use.
JRLM No it's not look at Zaytoven.
i mean im a logic pro user, but im quite intrested to moving to ableton or fl after this video.
I'd much rather use Logic Pro than FL Studio but that's just me. Logic Pro actually comes with good plugins unlike FL which is mainly just clutter (other than Harmor which is actually really good for fucking around with resampling).
Most people who care about which DAW you should use are starting producers or people who only use the preinstalled stuff. eventually it's more about the instruments/vst/plugins, and (as cliché as it may sound) even MORE about the person who's composing it. Eventually most producers just use the software that they're most familiar with. it's like saying a book writer can only use a specific pen in order to write great novels. There are enough shitty producers using expensive software as there are legendary producers who still record and edit on tape.
THE 808 IS AMAZING
Appreciate the quality and descriptions. Way better the. The old videos on beat making. Use to bore me out. But this makes sense.
Genius should make a segment just for producers!
u know what I'm sayin?
Nilsson Producer's favorit phrase 😂
Nilsson just fuckin wit it
finally good to see the man who made those killar beats #respect
Zayneyboy Buscette perhaps you mean #Respec
+Cane Sugar tru
Zayneyboy Buscette well we hear his stupid ass tag in every single beat he makes. God forbid you sell a beat that doesn't have your name tagged all over it.
Zayneyboy Buscette "Killer beats" is debatable
KosherKru are you jelly?
Y'all can thank these guys for this song, it got me back into producing. Sremm life, yep!!! 🔥🔥🔥
He says "you know what i'm saying?" one million times a second.
