Yeah usually I'd agree with this point 100%. However, I find the vocals from Swae Lee are pretty intoxicating and set a really unique mood. But, saying that the beat is fire and has many different elements that make it it's own masterpiece
Pen Griffey : well you have to figure out a ton of different stuff. Then the challenge in it is all the potential, possibilities, and combinations in creating a straight banger
Pen Griffey Producing is much than just adding notes in a computer program, you have to actually learn the purpose and sound of every instrument so you can basically do each "band member's" part, more than the techincal stuff you gotta have a good musical sense and a unique style cause no artist wanna sound like everybody else (unless it sales)
Lucky enough for me all the artists that I've worked with have given me credit but know that's not the case for most producers anymore. It's said asf. We do all the work
+lil boat every song made before your comment wouldn't exist without the producers. kodak black would be nothing without the producer for tunnel vision. it wouldn't be the same. future , drake wouldn't be the same without metro boomin. they wouldn't have the producers touch, their mixing technique, production technique. at the end of the day, the artist is just providing the vocal, the producer provides the beat which comprises of so much more, kick , snare , vocal fx , synths etc. producing takes years to perfect and these artists would be working in sainsburys before they can produce something 50% as good
Oliver Fredlund ya fr that's how you SHOULD feel after that kinda success. Still can't believe that 🎸 came from a pack, now it's on top of the charts. Sik
Forreal. When the other dude talks for the first time at 2:25 he be like: "Yeah, Yeah go play in the other room. Here's some money go get you an ice cream"
Every time I listen to "Unforgettable" it brings me back to summer 2017. Every time I hit the club and this song started playing, the whole crowd would go crazy. It just gives me that nostalgia that I felt two years ago. Shit even when I traveled to Japan, Hong Kong, and Australia this was the song everyone was listening to. It was world wide!
always strive and prosper what the heck is afrotrap? Dafuq these drum patterns are and have been in Latino music called reggeton. Ever heard of daddy Yankee? These drum patterns have been found on Latin music forever. Also the drum pattern is called dembow
We have the economy to make the technology for making music accessible on a large scale. Plus in the US there are so many different kinds of music, combining one with another to make a song even better is inevitable
The production is dope...Swae Lee killed it...the video was wonderful and French's verses were like someone pissing on a nice rug that really tied the room together.
I’ve seen this a couple months ago and I remember this guy saying “we’ve put the shit that sells” talking about the drums. Genius has edited this for sure
It’s makin a comeback for sure. Reason was THE shit before Ableton took over. Unfortunately at that time it just wasnt as flexible because they had their own format, Refills, for samples. They also didnt support VST plugins back then either so when Ableton came along and offered those two features along side the Live aspect, Reason took a huge hit. Propellerhead is trying really hard to add the features but the iLok system is going to prevent it from being pirated, which will only damage it’s success. Most people pirate software until they start making money from their beats, then they become loyal customers because that’s the software that helped them make it.
Man casually graduates at Yale, gets a C- in electronic music class, then has the biggest song in the world near graduation. Bless.
Source?
@mccullareid on instagram he's got pics up on there of him at Yale graduation over in New Haven CT
fuck the grades, not the music. Grades are just a letter.
ECO that determine ur future and how far u get in life
straight like that lmao. "On The Way" is my shit btw, man. Great song
Producers deserve more credit, they made this song great
Sid I
the culture deserve's more credit , it made this song great.
Swae lee did
Yeah usually I'd agree with this point 100%. However, I find the vocals from Swae Lee are pretty intoxicating and set a really unique mood. But, saying that the beat is fire and has many different elements that make it it's own masterpiece
Sid I very true. Very accurate
U can't discount Swae's vocals like that. They're both equally important.
In general producers deserve more credit tho
Not talking bout this song specifically, but producers stay saving rapper's careers nowadays
without rappers, there is no rap - without beat - the rappers got nothing
This is how hiphop beathes.
Ryan Brachamonte that's with any genre of music
Fr
True metro saved alot of artists
Ryan Brachamonte Factz

Pen Griffey : well you have to figure out a ton of different stuff. Then the challenge in it is all the potential, possibilities, and combinations in creating a straight banger

Think gnius this segment deserve be in tv show
This guy got one of those voices where he stops trying to talk at the end of sentences and just drags it to the end
PicturesJester lol what
PicturesJester i was wondering how to describe his voice and .....you said it perfect lol i thought i was the only one that thought that.
PicturesJester 😂😃😂
I just can't pay attention to him
5:50 he talks just like how you described it
Song wouldnt have been as popular without Swae Lee
Dat don't you think we ALL know tht
You right.
Dat i give 45% credit to swae, 45% credit to the producers, and 10% to french for this song being a smash
Dat french Montanas entire career is built off collabs. Without them he wouldnt be shit...
Dat facts
Producers need more credit
Jhardwork Pays off thank you
Too true
Lucky enough for me all the artists that I've worked with have given me credit but know that's not the case for most producers anymore. It's said asf. We do all the work
+lil boat without producers, artists songs wouldn't exist.

This guy's producer spirit is on point🔥
He's happy with the result and just glad to see people jumping on it, production wise or vocally.
Big up👍
Oliver Fredlund but simps care more about his lips not being chapped lol
Oliver Fredlund ya fr that's how you SHOULD feel after that kinda success. Still can't believe that 🎸 came from a pack, now it's on top of the charts. Sik
We still need "The making of Travis Scott's Goosebumps".
With CuBeatz
tom cubeatz didn’t do the drums
Aiden Mc something has a remake, and I don't know why I'm responding a 3 year old comment

Thank you, Brother! May God give you everything you desire!

Red guy can't wait to go solo
Forreal. When the other dude talks for the first time at 2:25 he be like: "Yeah, Yeah go play in the other room. Here's some money go get you an ice cream"
Federico Grosso that part was mad disrespectful
Federico Grosso lol he said yeah before the maroon shirt dude even said anything xd
I feel like the dude in the white shirt was planned his answers in advance too lol
Dude already gone 6:02
If Dave Franco and Matthew Mcconaughey had a baby it would be the dude in the maroon sweatshirt
max kraidelman how tf did you even think of that

We need to pay producers more and pay crappy ass rappers less
Brandon Joo he got $700,000 for a beat he never has to perform
Jazz Belarde how you know?
Unknown P google bro google
Jazz Belarde where the sources
Brandon Joo my bad 300k for video 300k for this
Swae lee kinda made the song what it is
not kinda. he DID make the song what it is.
Eric Arias i like french in it, he has the club banger hints
Forreal.
Kinda? Lol. It's his song practically
It was his song, French recognized it was a banger and bought it off him.
Lmao crazy how the best takes you to the vibes of Africa. In reality you're at a Frat Party in Indiana 😂😂
CokeBoiiMontana most producers are jews
They are definitely humble dudes, im shocked by this as well. Totally expected someone else behind the board
the guy in the white shirt sound like chris from family guy. 💀
I cant stand people who speak like this
Haha so true man
whoiskrow lol
No he doesn't lol
Like if his voice were chopped or something
Every time I listen to "Unforgettable" it brings me back to summer 2017. Every time I hit the club and this song started playing, the whole crowd would go crazy. It just gives me that nostalgia that I felt two years ago. Shit even when I traveled to Japan, Hong Kong, and Australia this was the song everyone was listening to. It was world wide!
Wasn't expecting a bunch of nerds from Indianapolis to make this beat...
Altay
Yeah but Ricky Rubin has been in the game for more than 30 years
haha lol me neither but u know what hey say...who run the world (nerds!) haha
Im pretty sure no dumbass high school drop out is smart enough to a make a beat this good so of course they had to be "nerds".
Kanye started producing when he tried made video games so production is for nerds
Andrea Education level has nothing to do with talent idiot. This beat isn't anything special. It's decent.
Deconstructed is the best; producers don't get enough credit.
they actually mentioned ramriddlz holy
Zampys wordddddd 🍍
modmon
Zampys Ikr!
Nanaaaa
Yea, the king of this sound.
I like that they give the producers a chance to show their part because it's not always about the artist!
I've liked this song even before it was a summer hit
TFA congrats bro wanna 🍪
Me too
I've been listening to this since last year November
Ikr
Good to see producers are recognized more and more through this channel
02:15 That reverse guitar chords are heckin' Genius!
Producers should be appreciated as much as the singers ❤
Why does he look like the guy who never made it into a fraternity and goes hiking in Yellowstone over summer with his parents?
LOOOOOOOOOOLLLL this is accurate affff
loooooooooool ffsake ahahaahahahahahh faaaacts
B L lmao
The video part too.......as a Ugandan I believe the hospitality we gave them during the video shoot boosted the song
3:06 TRINIDAD & TOBAGO STAND UP! :D
Jason D. Marajh i thought it was Trinidad and Tobacco and its where Tobacco came from
🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹
TRINII POSSSE

Make a beat like one dance and ur song will blow up guarantee
Legal Cake tru
always strive and prosper what the heck is afrotrap? Dafuq these drum patterns are and have been in Latino music called reggeton. Ever heard of daddy Yankee? These drum patterns have been found on Latin music forever. Also the drum pattern is called dembow
Creek Vermillion Not even Reggaeton. It started with Dancehall and eventually Reggaeton borrowed that.
always strive and prosper it can't be Afrotrap because there's no hi-hats that flutter rapidly.
@@mxxxw4529 it's reggaeton lol
I love these, very inspiring for up and coming producers
med sas : hell ya. One of my career ideas but I'm not sure in myself
We played this song after my brothers funeral til 4am n all the neighbors never complained once 😂🙅🏽♂️
Damn Suarez left Barca? Damn he let himself go.
Barca kicked him out mate lol
Genius please don't EVER stop making this "making of" video serie....
Where's Jaegen????
The steel pans make this song have the carribean vibe too it💯
Swae Lee was the one who carried this song, it’s not even about the beat, he just gave a godly performance and hook
The beat was great and it wouldn't have been as big if the beat was different
lol the whole song is the beat. Swae def killed it but you listen to the instrumental alone it's fire and people comment how sick the vibe is on it
I love watching these. It gives me idea's on how to improve and how to lay out beats.
The slow down in the end is fuckin incredible
Can't lie when Rae Sremmurd first came out I thought they were one and done. But this dude Swae Lees got star power, dude knows how to make a hit
What sample did French paid to clear
I was waiting sooo long for this !
Amazing how our national instrument of Trinidad and Tobago make music sound so beautiful #thesteelpan♥
And then they combined it with a dancehall drumbeat 🇯🇲🇹🇹
can't believe this dude made a beat for french montana & swae lee in the same city where i was getting lit
Bottoms up every time the guy says ‘like’.
Which vst is using for the steel pan?
Clearly they didn't get the proper royalties from the track. Shout out my fellow producers. They sleep on us.
That slowed down part was fucking amazing. How didn't make it on the final cut????
This is a masterpiece. Well done guys.
Bro the beat make me wanna dance fr💫
Man all the popular dance hall and carribean vibe records are being made by people outside the culture. Just a observation
Yea but dance hall and carribean people get some of their hits from our culture too so its a even trade
T2Thunder 2 I dont care as long they are respectful of the culture
We have the economy to make the technology for making music accessible on a large scale. Plus in the US there are so many different kinds of music, combining one with another to make a song even better is inevitable
Cultures have to mix and mash to progress
So what. There's a demand for it. Who cares where the beats come from or from who.
dope work
Good seeing Reasons being used for this
Delaino Barris reasons?
Dry Boy Eazy that's the DAW used
Dry Boy Eazy reason
What software is used for creating beats like this?
Scarr10813 reason
This is the shit I've been waiting for, goddamn.
Glad to see somebody using Reason!
Hi Genius. If you're reading this, please keep these types of videos coming. They're so interesting, it's like deconstructing the music!
I love how they didnt talk about the vocal atmospheric stuff in the beat that actually made it pop
An actual hit song made in Reason
g.co/kgs/jkCNzC
This one too :)
Plenty of producers made hits with Reason
Drake's "Passionfruit" was made on Reason
I wish we could hear the unreleased Swae part at the end
Where is the 300k sample?
They're like characters from a movie about nerd friends that don't want to lose their friendship
i like the slow pan of the board at 2:04 to show its only purpose is to keep the room warm
Shout out all my Reason producers!
WHERE'S JAEGAN??
Thanks to GENIUS for giving the producers some recognition
im glad they mentioned jaegen
upload this series more often
Where's jaegen
JaycenJoshua mixed this right? Them kicks hits
neva been this early... damn, feels greattt
Producers are so damn smart and deserve a lot of credit❤❤
The production is dope...Swae Lee killed it...the video was wonderful and French's verses were like someone pissing on a nice rug that really tied the room together.
THIS is my fav series on TH-cam by far
beat it up like jaegan
I’ve seen this a couple months ago and I remember this guy saying “we’ve put the shit that sells” talking about the drums. Genius has edited this for sure
Songs of the summer
1: unforgettable
2: I'm the one
3: slide
4: Xo tour lif3
Summer full of hits
Gotta love that Spanish style rhythm 😍 tryna channel my roots and incorporate that vibe into my beats more
Finally something good came out of Minneapolis
it feels like his voice is a note that never goes up or down
Damn reason is making moves! I see more and more producers using it!
Brian Daniels reason gang!
Most people pirate software until they start making money from their beats, then they become loyal customers because that’s the software that helped them make it.
What software did they use to make the beat
Reason. Used to be called Propellerhead Reason but now it's called Reason Studios
Do knxledge, key wane, wondagurl, or pierre bourne
Farquan they should do more Travis Scott.
This is why artists should be crediting the producer/producers.
One of the best beats ever made
I kinda wanted to see how he brought the snares to life. Still a great video! Amazing job on the beat
Those guys are gold
omg where did u get the steel pan combinator from???
This Beat & Tune is LIT🔥🔥🔥🔥.. for sure one of my best song for the summer!.. almost feel like a Dancehall tune.
Aye ik u typed this 6yrs ago but if you look up the song on wikipedia it says the composition is a mix between dancehall and hip hop🔥
Thank you 🙌🏾🔥🔥🔥
This beat came out so epic! 🔥🔥👏🏾👏🏾🙏🏾
TRINIDAD & TOBAGO !
good to see someone using Reason
PLEASE DO DECONSTRUCTED OF "LOVE GALORE" BY SZA. THAT BIG FACTS
My grandfather made steel pans back in Trinidad a long time ago 😂
shout out to the producers! the people that work behind the scenes.
Yessir This will forever be unfogattable, Loud from Uganda
French stole this and in interviews he can't even tell you who produced his number one track so sad
