When I was an adolescent and could understand lyrics, I used to wonder why the lyrics all followed the same formula:
Man's lyrics: How beautiful is your body- your zulfein/badan/jhumka/kamar
Women's lyrics: How beautiful is this feeling of being in love
I feel like there should be a Guy version of this. Since as women we do feel uncomfortable listening to such songs but I wonder how men would react.

There are songs like "Ek munda meri umra ka" in karan arjun where Mamta Kulkarni follows him and he looks annoyed. Another was madhuri's song "Tujhe chod sheher me chali jaaoongi" bascially songs where women harassing men.. Dono nahi hona chahiye.

I hated the song from Haseena Maan Jayegi. When I was in middle school there was a guy who asked me out and I said no and it was the same time the song came out. He used to sing this song every time I passed his way. It was so embarrassing I think I am having PTSD even writing about that experience in this comment.
The worst was when I discussed this with my mum she told me to ignore and this is what happens when you are too friendly with boys. My aunt even said that if he likes you so much you should ask him to come home and ask for marriage. Again I was once in grade 9 or something.
I stopped talking about this with my parents because I was scared that they will marry me to this boy. This harassment went on for about a year until we finished 10 grade but I dared not to talk to anyone but my friends.
I'm so sorry to hear all this and I'm sorry that you've had gone through this, more power to you. You're strong and you can fight everything.

She said right...that when we watch a movie..the song goes along with it...and we don't really pay much attention to it as it somewhat fits the movie ..but when we actually listen to the song...we realise how wrong the song is....

he played psycho there😂
But in darr, he had a mental issue. More like a mental shock for which he was never treated. His mother died tragically when he was small and never was treated so even talked to his dead mother on the phone. His dad didn't give much attention I think that he decided to stalk Kiran instead of directly asking her out. Therefore song fits in context of story else it would count as bad.

I remember a person asking me out and I said no. But he kept at it. To the point that it almost felt manipulative. It felt bad for me to reject him. It made me feel like there is something wrong with me that I cannot give that person a chance.
He wasn't bad but he was pushy and it almost made me feel like that maybe it's just some sort of fear inside me and I am unable to trust him.
Thing is, whether it was my fear of my disinterest, it was a big NO and I shouldn't have felt bad about being up front about it. And yet his words were so manipulative and felt just like these songs. "If she is saying no, it's yes"
It made me feel like he had that vibe around him too and was influenced by it as well.
At first, I was very polite in pushing him away but when I couldn't be polite anymore, I decided to put my foot down and just outright say that "I am rejecting" him properly and want nothing to do with him anymore.
He was heart broken I guess but I realised I am not responsible for mending his heart in any way if I am not interested. Hopefully, he found someone that is really interested in him now but I have decided to not feel guilty about it anymore.

There is a reason why songs are there. They express, they help u emote in a different way, it would be so meaningful if words were as meaningful as to bring the audience closer to comprehending the feelings. Songs are originally poems put into music. I am infact more happy to hear lot of English- movie songs ... Like that Notting hill.... ain't no sunshine...
My husband once said he hated the innate vulgarity of that song "daddy mummy ho nahi ghar pe... Pichhle kamre main"... N then I realised how the music was wasted on bad lyrics so often.
What we learned to day was consent does not matter in bollywood, consent gaya tel lene, who cares if it's considered rape is you don't have consent, not bollywood for sure
