    Many thanks, very helpful. Are you able to tell me exactly what Adtran ONT model CF provided? I want to understand dimensions and power requirements - would be great if they used a POE powered ONT!. Finally, your CF splice box is inside as you showed. Is that a requirement with CF or do you know if it can be mounted externally? I am trying to reduce wall clutter as the CF fibre line will enter in a very inconvenient place!

      I'm not sure on the model they provided. I'll have a look when I get back from work.. As for the splice box, it's my understanding they only put them inside the house.

    Good to see that they provide an ONT like BT. Managed to get Openreach to terminate the fibre inside the house in my airing cupboard so it sounds like i could get community fibre to do the same? How have you found the service and do you have a digital phone with them as i currently have my BT number on my fibre service

      It's great. Really fast and imho better value. I did a review on it recently th-cam.com/video/obMzo5I6R1w/w-d-xo.htmlsi=zmWfaVL7RcJVB7ax

    Hi Pete, thanks for this video. I wonder if you can help me. I need to move the modem and router away from the window (the install team just went for the easier and quickest option and the wifi it's not reaching everywhere in my flat). I was planning to buy an extra long fibre cable, the one with the green ends that goes form the wall box to the modem, i checked online but there are too many types out there, not sure which one I should buy, any help would be much appreciated, thank you!! have a lovely day!!

      Hi. You might find it easier to just run a longer ethernet cable and move the router to where you'd like. That way you can leave the CF ONT where it is.

    So you have had a fibre run to your house underground ?

    It's a shame they install even that much. I want Community Fibre in my flat but my sister is a hoarder so there's no space anywhere. 😔 Anyway, thanks for the video

    How would they come Into to a house from over head telephone pole

    • @Builtbypete
      @Builtbypete  22 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      The cable goes from the pole with a support wire to the house. Then routed around the house and through the wall to an internally mounted splice point.

      I like it. Better than BT for sure. Here's my review: th-cam.com/video/obMzo5I6R1w/w-d-xo.htmlsi=Oz0DUNupLSmJFev-
