My guy Pye, this is what I’m talking about foundation posing framework with CAMP, with lights, outside, even without lights is fine. This is what I like this is what I enjoy learning and practicing. keep it coming love it and of course thank you
For me, that's a new and interesting twist on mixed lighting and the distance between the subjects and flash units. The resulting images are spectacular. Thanks for sharing this video.
Thanks, Pye, for showing how relatively easy it is to use several flashes set to different control channels for dramatic on-location effects. A big plus for this video is the use of Wossamotta U's (aka, Chapman University) auditorium steps as a location. The winter light there at dusk can be magic. ♥️
Great video!! 2 flashes on different group, group A, group B, got it. What is the difference if both groups A-B, are on a same channel, or different channels?? Thanks!
I would like to learn more about how to photograph with color filters (gels) in various conditions - indoors, on the streets (sunset, night...), concerts.
Good video as always. I can pose people all day long but getting expressions is tough for me. Do you have suggestions or a videos on how to interact to get natural expressions.
Before the session, spend some time talking with your subjects to learn about them. You don't want to make someone smile who generally doesn't smile or doesn't like their smile... or at least big smiles. You see "professionals" all the time ask their subjects to smile but you should NEVER tell them to smile unless they're professional models who can fake a real smile on cue. Use phrases/say things that cause your subjects to smile naturally or engage in other small talk. If the smile is too big, look at your subject with a similar smile on your face and slowly relax your smile to a gentle, closed-lip smile or whatever it is you're wanting based on what you learned from your talks before the session. Then... do some of each, anyway. Telling people to smile usually will get a fake look because, unless we, as humans hear or see something to cause that emotion we - generally speaking - can't create a natural appearing smile on cue. Write a list of short phrases and remember them. Practice with a friend so it feels natural when you're with a subject. Have fun and your subject will have fun.
Fantastic demonstration.
Wonderful video Pye! 👍
So much to absorb in this short video. Not only lighting but how you communicate, plan and confidence in approach. Great to watch

Hi Pye, nice video. I've noticed in your portraits/oics, you always have a lot of headroom. Is that intentional, your style? What's the reason
