You're lucky you don't live in New York.
"14th Street and 23rd Street and 28th Street and 34th Street..."
We dont number our streets though :p
More like: 14th street and 23rd street and uhh... the other 23rd st, and the other one, and the last one.
😂😂
@No this is patrick yup
I suppose this orderly planning of street instead of a mess makes hell of a traffic since everyone now have to commute from residential district to a commercial one instead of literally going downstairs
3:10 " BANK..... " got me 💀
Tom Lehrer only had to remember the names of 102 elements, each comprising just one word. To recall 270 stations, almost all of which comprise more than one word is epic.
And Tom didn't have to worry about rhyming because most elements end in -ium
Thanks to you, I've found the song
It was about 6 years since I've heard that
Thank you
Someone needs to AI update Tom Lehrer’s song as there are now 118 elements … 😄😄😄😄
Not just that, Jay also made gags in various places. That's amazing.
ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS SONG!!
I was in London three years ago and the nearest station was Earl's Court. I still listen to this song to remember London.
I went a few days ago and mine was Archway and when I first listened to the song I was like :) when I heard it.
For me went my family went to London in July 2019 our tube station by the hotel was Southwark
I live in LA but I like watching London Underground videos
We only went on Piccadilly Jubilee , & Victoria lines
Missed a good chance to put a picture of the Stepney locomotive but colored green for Stepney Green
0:50 WHEN YOU SAID PICCADILLY CIRCUS
U POINTED AT CHARING CROSS
BUT CLOSE
LOVE THE SONG
He pointed at Westminster
And he pointed at elephant and castle when he said lambeth north
@@samanthaschnetzler7812 It’s more Denmark Hill/ Brixton than E&C.
And Wembley Central instead of Northwick Park.
U SuS
How can 124 people actually dislike this? It's actually art!
I live in Florida! Why is this in my recommendations?!
It’s a good song
(Junior Eurovision existed before 2014) ... also I'm kinda surprised to see Mirror on here
That Bank at the end 💰
Came to watch again after the new QI
Next challenge: Sing this song but one syllable off.
*That's a f***ing difficult one!*
Some else asked this. He replied No.
He did try during the Nerdcube’s big stream (red nose day charity stream 2017) at the end of the draw full 2 section. He couldn’t do it.
I had the luxury of being your 1000th Upvote. And I gave evidence to prove it xD
And if that's too easy, try singing (a suitably reordered version of) it to the tune of “I am the Very Model of a Modern Major-General”.
This video is sponsored by the Oyster Card
Lol! That is a good one
Thanks paul
Amazing Jay I cannot sing that fast you are so clever.
Brilliant advertisement Paul.
some stations don't work with them
Petition to have this as the UK's Eurovision Song next year.
would really be great
PETITION SIGNED
Got My Support!
Indeed
Need to make it shorter
Now I'm looking forward for another one with all 2563 stations in Great Britain.
Pongsathon Boonrod that’s the equivalent of a 15 storey building
Matthew Dunderdale If stacked one on top of the other or what?
Ed, given this was filmed by geoff marshall, legend and underground know it all... in certain videos he cites the fact that although the number of steps on the emergency staircase may be different to another station, TFL tell you its the equivalent of a 15 storey building... and last year he visited all 2563 stations in Great Britain (england, scotland wales and the isle of wight)... hence yes a 15 storey building
@@matthewdunderdale8685 Ohhhh that's what you meant
exactly...
The song is already really long. If we'd included Overground or DLR it would have been even really longer.
Jay Foreman what about the trams and emirates air line (cable car)
Jay Foreman the underground is mostly Overground. Check your privilege
@@iDk-dp1bi Overground does not mean "above the ground". It means "London Overground". That's an orange thing on the TfL map that is technically part of National Rail.
Having said that, I'd love to hear Jay sing a song about the Goblins on the Overground. :-D
It would be another 250 stations with overground trams DLR tfl rail Emirates airline
Can you make a separate song for overground, dlr, tram?
Jay sang at our wedding, we didn't think he would sing this live but we still asked, he did sing it, amazing talent, super nice guy x
julie Nicholson Lucky ducks. How did you book him?
julie Nicholson must have been a epic wedding 11/10 would try and get him to come to mine if I ever choose to get married

"BANK."
Yasssssss
now you need to add in battersea power station and nine elms
@@fafacreate1236terminals 4 and 5 are two stations
As someone who doesn't live in London, I'm still laughing at the name Cockfosters
Nicholas Courtney from Doctor Who said posh people call it Coasters. I'm still not sure if he was joking or not.
@ToyTime That was my year 8..
As someone who lived years in London, I never got over it and still chuckle
DaringD5 really Year 8!! That must have been a dark year
st johns wood as well hehe
All the way through, I kept thinking, "He's not said 'Bank' yet." And right near the end, I thought, "Aha! I can join the hordes and say, 'Hey, I'm from up North and I know you missed Bank!'" And then you said it, right at the end. Bollocks.
You know someone's British when they say 'bollocks' instead of swearing.
He said Kensington twice
@@veryinactiveukmapping ow i thought it was spelled Pollock.
@@glassyxanderplaysminecraft8340 No he didn't. There's 4 Kensington stations: South Kensington, West Kensington, High Street Kensington, Kensington (Olympia)

No, but the guy who filmed it, Geoff Marshall certainly has. He's the Guinness World Record holder for visiting every station in the shortest time.

Will the song be updated to include "Battersea Power Station" and "Nine Elms" ? The Northern Line deserves it ...

Now I'm going to have to watch that again. Thanks a bunch.
Skóggangr - no, because I have known this one for a longer time than the Animaniac's thing and the country-song is like really bad because some country names are wrong and instead of saying Indonesia they just named some of the islands and they called the island of Crete a country, which it maybe was 2500 years ago under King Minos but not in 1990

Jay Foreman I've listened to your song enough times to know my way around and I like it very much. I don't know how else to prove it other than by admitting to the fact that I sing it to myself in bed before going to sleep because it's more entertaining and exhausting than counting sheep, and that is a statement that's so embarrassing that one wouldn't admit to it unless it were true.
Still though, I do trip over the bit from Golders Green to Bethnal Green a lot. Either way though, love the song.

Easiest Tube Challenge ever
"Deptford Bridge" is a deliberate error in the website's song lyrics to prevent you from copying them directly. It's not a Tube station, nor does Foreman say it in the song. Similarly, "Perivale" is not mentioned in the song lyrics from the site, but is a Tube station and is said in the song.

They would have to throw 99 percent of British people out of the country, if they did that.
(Most of us don't even know the words to our own National Anthem.)
@@DavidShepheard Isn't that the point of the citizenship test?
@@Lucaazade the point of a citizenship test is to test how familiar and well-integrated you are with uk culture and values. But it's already a mess of a test: a weird mix of obscure medieval history, random british oscar winners, and patently obvious answers about "british values" so why not throw in the tube stations as well at this point
Funny you should mention that bc i just added it to my British citizenship study guide haha
plenty of British people have never even been to London though :P
Girl: what's your favourite song
Me: it's complicated
Just imagine - this is all in the same city
it's a big city
@@gazriley624 Yup
well yes but actually no
Amersham, Chesham and Chalfont Latimer are in high wycombe and Epping is in essex but yes we can say that
@@s_r-d2n not just Epping. Every station north of Woodford and Hainult is in essex
@@s_r-d2n also all stations north of Northwood aswell is in buckinghamshire
Congrats on one million views! Feels like a good time to tell a story of how this song got me a head's award at my school.
My and my friend, unbeknownst to eachother, had learnt this song. We were both singing it quietly to ourselves when we found out, and as we walked into our drama class we had, our teacher picked up on our singing and asked us to sing it at full volume. After a bit of me being really cowardly (of course) we sang the song. Our teacher then proceeded to TELL THE HEAD OF YEAR for some reason that we could sing a song. We then were asked "nicely" to sing the song at the end of year assembly. In front of the entire year. Which is around 120 people. I was given a KitKat as not a bribe but "motivation" and I did it. I then got called exemplary and was used as a reason why people shouldn't forget things, even though I am a paragon of forgetting homework.
Haha, thanks for sharing mate!
Haha great story!

... I didn’t notice you did it...
Just saw this Nadiem. Thanks for doing it!
Can we talk about how entertaining he made the visuals, and how impressive that is with what the subject was?
I actually used this song for my singing test and I got a 9/10.
honestly shouldve deserved a 10

Why are people angry?

You should have left Mornington Crescent for last, because then at the end of the song you would have won

But isn't oakwood 1 word?
2:58 Did you write "St. Jame's Park" on purpose to mock the dispute over the 's at St. James's Park or was that just a typo?

I am almost certain I heard this wonderful tune as a buzzer on QI. I heard your voice Jay and thought “hand on a tick, that’s Jay Foreman.” I hope you got paid royalties.
He would have been. They'd have had to get his permission to use it.
What episode was that?
