Charlie Chaplin was just the most adorable man ever. Whether it was dressed as the Little Tramp or just normal. And that smile of his is contagious. ;) I love you Charlie!
from around 1920, I think. he was already, at the point that he, had to dye his hair black, as he was rapidly greying, by then. but still a handsome young man!
Great clips. Not sure who the big man was in the clip before Winston Churchill. Loved Jackie Coogan at the top with his dancing moves. Charlie was a handsome man.
A true genius on so many levels. Charlie wrote and directed all of his films as well as starring in them and composing a great deal of the music for them. I wonder if the US Government will ever apologize to his family for the disgusting way he was treated by our government and by the pathetic pervert, J. Edgar Hoover.
It simply doesn't fit in my mind how he looks so different to The Tramp. Make-up and good acting can do amazing things. Also great to see this ancient videos with Chaplin out of his role!
Amazing. I live only a few blocks away from that Studio where he was hosting all those dignitaries and Financial people. I can walk there in 10 minutes.
Thanks for the clip with Winston Churchill!! I knew that they met in 1930 and I saw pictures. But I never saw this material. I have often wondered about the influence of Churchill on the making of The Great Dictator...
Churchill - on his grand tour of North America - visited Charlie on September 24 1929, at his Hollywood studio on the corner of Sunset Boulevard and La Brea Avenue. Churchill wrote that Charlie was "too sweet for words". At the time, Charlie was making City Lights during the transition from silent film to “talkies.”
charlie was also an architect for a few years, i lived across from a building he designed and had built for employees of his studio to live in still beautiful
@fahrzeit1 it was never ever a commercial publication. Hence.. not available for sale. Sincere apology for that. And thanks for your kind interest. Regards.
GOOD FOR YOU!!!!! =D I started watching him in the very early 1970s, when I was about 2 or so. That's how I discovered silent film in general, thanks to Charlie's films.
Charlie Chaplin always amazed me. All the media was digging up the dirt on this guy to try and bring him down, but the public basically said “We don’t care - we like him anyway!” Kind of reminds me of Donald Trump! 🤣
Charlie chaplin a vécu environ 600 ans. Il faisait du spectacle comique. Il fabriquait tout pour les orphelins et les princesses. Les films de charlie ont été tourné des décennies après l'absorbtion de ma dissociation..comme un jeu de situation.
@romadona11 Check out the "Chaplin Collection" movies from Warner Brothers/MK2. It has all the Chaplin features and some of his shorts, plus bonus DVDs with each movie loaded with extras like these and documentaries. If you want to learn a ton about Chaplin, those DVDs are a great place to start.
well... the lil boy you see in the very start is THE KID (jackie coogen). jackie met charles chaplin when he was invited for the oscar event by the us govt. :-)
That kid dancing looks like Jackie Coogan that plays the little boy in Charlies film "The kid". I mean he really does. He must be Jackie! Correct me if I'm wrong.
Charlie Chaplin was just the most adorable man ever. Whether it was dressed as the Little Tramp or just normal. And that smile of his is contagious. ;) I love you Charlie!
Oh my gosh, he is too cute :') Such a perfect smile.
He looks like he was a great guy. Thanks Charlie for all the laughs and fun.
Well he wasnt
A bloody gorgeous face, I can even feel like I can hear him talking in that british accent! Come back Tramp!
we really miss him
No Tramp. You got Trump !!
He's so handsome, I wish I could have met him in this life, but I was born 7 years too late. Maybe in the afterlife...
Maybe you met his in prelife.
Hopefully you got a life.
ghostlyme

I'm in love with this man. He was so handsome
He's a standard yeshiva boy. Although that WWI German mustache made his face much more palatable.

The kid at the beginning is Jackie Coogan, who later went on to play Uncle Fester in The Addams Family
+Tobaila Gib Interesting info! Thx!
I'd swear that was a little girl.
@Seamus Also, Charlie helped him out when he was in financial difficulty. Chaplin never forgot those who worked for him.
Lived from 1889-1977, aged 88 years, 8 months, 9 days. He had some lucky genes to live that long!!!
wow! i looooooooved this. especially when he is laughing and is all dressed up in character. :)
He was just handsome. He made himself up for creating comedy.🎩🎩
So handsome
He seemed like a nice down to earth guy
Greatest actor ever over and above all.. rip... 😘🙏💐👆😔😥🎉💖🎊😇💔🌍💕
He had a beautiful smile 😍😍😍
if there are any lip reades out there, it would be cool to have some text to go along to find out what he's saying, it would be so cool.
special to see him and Churchill together
Yes T.Bird two remarkable men, really something!
And yet America saw fit to throw Chaplin out. ?
Durins bane. Yes the USA did throw him out, he was very hesitant to go back for the award, the gave him, RIP Sir Charlie.
from around 1920, I think. he was already, at the point that he, had to dye his hair black, as he was rapidly greying, by then. but still a handsome young man!
Handsome at 5.5 height? and never forget his propensity to having sex with minors
that was wonderful. Thanks for posting
So enjoyable to see this. What a legend Charlie was.
Great clips. Not sure who the big man was in the clip before Winston Churchill. Loved Jackie Coogan at the top with his dancing moves. Charlie was a handsome man.
considering the huge number of women he jumped into bed with, I believe he wasn't just handsome, but extremelly charming...
Nessie Green Several, but not a huge number.
Chaplin was more into really young girls.
hahaha yes, you are right
@@spencerfrankclayton4348 I heard over 2,000 though..
@@shhhh5895 False propaganda. Read Charlie's autobiography, and the huge, comprehensive one of him, *Chaplin,* by David Robinson.
World miss u Charlie .
The final scene is epic ... Thank you for the upload: a brilliant combination of image and sound!
Winston is looking relatively young and unpickled there!

No! I agree wholeheartedly! He was beautiful!

it feels weird to see him without the moustache
The little girl in the background ,when Jackie Coogan is dancing , is Lillita Macmurray, who would become Mrs. Charlie Chaplin 5 years later!
its not rare anymore (since the day you posted this!)

well... the lil boy you see in the very start is THE KID (jackie coogen). jackie met charles chaplin when he was invited for the oscar event by the us govt. :-)
The first Oscars was in 1927. "The Kid" starring Charlie Chaplin and Jackie Coogan was released in 1921.
That kid dancing looks like Jackie Coogan that plays the little boy in Charlies film "The kid". I mean he really does. He must be Jackie! Correct me if I'm wrong.
Yes, he is. Later known as ''uncle fester''
that little boy, fifty years later became Uncle Fester on the original Adams Family.
He ill be Royal I mean he is Royal
