in their last performances in Europe they performed this live, this is exceptional, as they had never performed this live, simply because it is too emotional and that is why they never sang it live, until now. Just beautiful.🎶🎶🤟🏻🤟🏻

I'll tell you a little story Laura.
My son who was taken away from me by his mother at age 10, decided last year that he wanted to live with me.
When there were bus problems getting him to school, I started driving him in and collecting him. On the way home I played music in the car - specifically am MP3 disc of all 9 studio albums of Nightwish. Not that I expected him to like it - he was into rap for some reason.
A few weeks later he came downstairs to tell me he had got his Spotify stats. He had one artist ahead of everything else and the second, Spotify told him was "close". When I asked what the numbers were, top was 400+ streams, the close second was 57 (I don't recall the exact figures but they were in this sort of range).
Turned out this 16yo rap-lover had steamed Nightwish 10 times as much as the next on his list.
I asked him what his favourite was and he said he wasn't sure because there were so many, but possibly Our Decades! A 16yo boy!
    I was surprised.
This is about all the band and their longing for family when away on tour. It's much better than the Floor solo.
It came onto the set list live in place of acoustic How's the Heart in late November last year and though there is no official live yet (hopefully Amsterdam Ziggo will be released on bluRay later this year) there is a pretty decent audience shot video in Zurich that's worth watching. Our Decades acoustic live - magical
Thank you, as ever, for your thoughts

At least you recruited your son into Nightwish. Both my sons aren't there yet. They are more into Linkin Park, Metallica, and alot of 80s metal. Appreciate those moments with him bonding into the music it's definitely worth the experience. Thank you for sharing your story! ☺️

@@lauraa.musiccorner1 As you were talking about Tuomas' and Emppu too, here's an extract from a conversation with Floor recently about "the soundtrack of her life", during which she was asked about her favourite singer, songwriter and guitar player:
      "The guitar hero
"I play in a band with him: that’s Emppu [Vuorinen, Nightwish guitarist]. He is an amazing guitar player, but he doesn’t need to fill every gap in the song with meaningless notes. He really keeps the atmosphere [of the songs]. What he plays in Sleeping Sun is beautiful."
      The singer
"She falls completely out of the spectrum of rock and metal, but if there’s one singer that endlessly amazes me with her sound it’s Celine Dion. I find her music absolutely cheese-bombs, but that’s too bad, because I love her voice. You can feel what she’s singing."
      The songwriter
"Tuomas [Holopainen, Nightwish]. I don’t know anybody who can write like him. He has been writing music for twenty-five years, had three different singers in his band, and still Nightwish is one of the biggest bands out there. That says something about how good the songs are. I have a special love for Ghost Love Score which is a super-weird song, it’s ten minutes long, but for some reason, it speaks to so many people."

This is one of the songs that makes me cry when I try to sing along, but I'm OK when I just listen to it (which is a good thing, given how often I listen to the EFMB album, which is my favourite). I reckon it'll touch the heart of anyone who had a good relationship with their parents (I lost my dad in 1982 and my mum in 2005). They are both forever in me.

I'm so sorry for your loss. I completely understand those hard moments of loss. You should sing no matter how difficult it may get for you. Singing is good for the soul. I do it all the time and it does help. ☺️
