Andre the toughest men are the ones who are not afraid to show their emotions and it shows you have a good heart and soul. Anyone who doesnt get emotional with this song isnt normal. And of course its Floor singing so that makes all the difference. Take care

Andrei - There is NOTHING wrong or “broken” about crying. Imagine how bland life would be if nothing moved us! We have emotions for a reason: They tell us what’s important to us - about loss and joy and beauty and love….It may not feel like it at times, but your connection to your feelings is a blessing.

Crying over a song such as this does not show there is anything wrong with you. It shows there is something RIGHT with you.
It's not so much about the song, but Floor who has the impact. Listen covers of this from other people, not that dramatic.

I heard this song the same week my mother passed away, it chokes me up every time I listen to it. BTW - there is nothing wrong with being emotional, I am a big 61 year old guy and it brings me to tears!
Floor is the only artist that can make me cry like a baby, she has that empathic ability. And this song make me think of my mum, that passed away back in 2012, but I still miss her. You are not broken, Andrei.

Well, that derailed quickly! But... even Floor cried in Antwerp when she sang this song with Nightwish. She could not continue for a few minutes as well. So, there is no shame in this. I cried too and if you ask me why? I could not tell. I lost both my parents a long time ago and I had a reasonably good relationship with them. So, why?
It is a tribute from all the bandmembets to their patents.
This is not very diffetent from the original. Nightwish started to play this dong live on one of the last concers
As far as I know there is no live version of this song with the whole Nightwish band. In a few locations Floor performed it acoustically together with Troy. The reason for this is very simple and has everything to do with André's (beautiful!) emotional reaction: the song was written in honor of their parents and every band member contributed to it. They already had a tough time to record it on the studio album 'Endless Forms Most Beautiful' because without exception everyone had a tough time to keep their eyes dry. For this reason Tuomas thought it to be wise not to put it on the set list. But who knows?
The rest of the band gradually join in at the end of some Nightwish performances after mostly performed by Floor and Troy.
They did it on the last tour i think, instead of hows the heart...but no real live recording about this.

@@clivematthews5296 thanks, i know it, hopefully Floor sings it on her solo concert, i will visit in may 2023. I wonder how many concerts she will do in the next month. I will fly to Stockholm in June as well, hopefully they will have this song on the setlist as in Poland. but thanks for you info.

lost my mom awhile back then my gf of 18yrs last feburary this song hit hard for me😭
Tuomas has been extremely lucky to have been born in a family where both the mother and the father stood by his side from the very beginning. Not everybody is that lucky. Therefore this song can also evoke sadness in those who have been deprived by motherly and fatherly love and acceptance.
When Floor was singing this song in studio, suddenly there became all quiet. Then the recording engineer asked what was happening. After a few seconds Floor's voice heard on the line 😭: "Sorry guys... I'm gathering myself here... Let's take a break. I try again in a moment."
FLOOR even cries when singing this song , AND THIS 70YR OLD MAN CRIES AS WELL.
I don't want to make you jealous, but tomorrow I will jump on my bike together with my wife.. Just 5 kilometers ride to 013 in Tilburg, where Floor will give her new solo show. Looking forward to see and hear the most versatile female singer of our planet in my hometown.
Same for me. This Sunday I will also take my bike to see her in Het Paard in my hometown The Hague and lukely I also saw her twice at Pinkpop, solo and with Nightwish and in the Ziggodome last November
On their recent tour in Europe, Nightwish swapped out Sleeping Sun for this - the first time they had performed it live as Tuomas had previously felt it too personal to perform live. But they did, and it’s a beautiful song, written by Tuomas for all of their parents, not just his. Floor’s supreme empathy makes this an absolute tearjerker in a very good way.
When you hear this song and it makes you cry, I believe it is a reminder to you and others that that loved one is still alive in your heart.
Floor is magic, and she does many of us like that. Her voice with so much feelings radiating from her. Nothing wrong with you at all.
Yep, Floor strikes again. Right there with you Andrei. I am a 70 yr old man with the tears flowing ever time I hear this song. Not a thing wrong with crying. For me it saves on artificial tear eye drops for my dry eye condition.

I lost both my parrents 5 yrs ago, and yes this song got some lyrics, very simple, like waving goodbye eveyday, feel the love the memories, and walk on same paths, so it can bring a tear to m'y chin to, going down that lane, as i did have loving parrents, i miss them a lot, and yes this one takes the feelings right to surface..
No one can match Floor for all the emotion along with great singing.

If there is something wrong with you Andrei, it is an affliction that we all have! In fact I would be much more worried if you were able to watch this without showing any emotion. It is the Nightwish effect, and Floor amplifies it more than anyone else in the world….

Andre daring to show your emotions as a man is difficult but dont be afraid all fans of floor and nightwish have to deal with this and it is beautyfull
Sad news from Nightwish: "After the planned shows for June 2023 we will be 'hanging up our spurs' for an indeterminate time, as far as live concert performances go, and won't be touring the next album.
"The reasons for this decision are personal, but, we all agree, vital to the wellbeing and future of the band. Be assured that we still love working together, and this decision has nothing to do with Floor's pregnancy or our other individual projects.
"However, an album of 12 new songs will see bright daylight in 2024, as will 3 music videos! The band is positively hyped beyond words over this new upcoming musical adventure.
"Stay tuned for updates from our legendary Nightwish band camp & studio this summer!"

Tuomas wrote this for all of the parents of the Nightwish members. I feel sorry for Andrei, just like you Dominika. I am starting to think there are some very deep seated feelings regarding relationships with parents. I feel you big guy! Emotions are a human thing and does not make you less of a MAN! If there is something wrong with you my friend, then there must be something wrong with me and so many of us passionate Floor/Nightwish fans.
You will find that the Nightwish version is very similar. maybe even more emotional. Nightwish actually played this song acoustically a few times on this tour. Love this reaction Andrei. Seeing how hard this hit you validates all of the tears we all shed when we hear Floor's beautiful voice and the way she expresses those wonderful lyrics from Tuomas. Hope to see you again very soon. Hi Andre and Dominica. As a 66 year old Nightwish fan, and Floor's performance brings tears to my eyes every time I hear it. Her magical voice just pulls emotions from us. Nothing is wrong with you, Andre. Every one of us gets broken from time to time. I have watched many reactors break down in tears for this song and several others. I have seen people in the audience of many of their concerts weep openly. Having strong feelings like that is nothing to be ashamed of. You two are absolutely wonderful.
