Thank god for Lombardi so we can get real insight into how Bill thinks, this interview told me a lot. Bill was clearly salty about Billy O coming in here and replacing Patricia. As a result, Bill did nothing to help him on the personnel side. He knew they needed help, and Bill essentially said F you to Kraft for forcing Billy O on him. Thank GOD Belichick is out, I can’t even imagine the toxicity in the building over the last couple years.

Yep only confirms how much bill is to blame. When people speak honestly, there are truths on both sides even if one more than the other. When you dig your heels in this hard against everything people have seen with their own eyes, it reeks of defensiveness. His performance on F&M was a childish display .

Lombardi: Look at Zappe, he is a really good QB who elevates the guys around him. Also Lombardi: Zappe isn't a starting QB in the NFL.

when your winning 8 games by one score, no one ever says "ya know alot of these games were close and could have gone the other way" "we have a good record but we're not a good team"
but when you lose 8 games by 1 score....then its all "well were close, lotta those games, a play here a play there" "bad record but not a bad team"

I think Bill had a big role in the Pats success. But when I think about SB36. Bill's D gave up 14 4th quarter points, then Brady leads a 1:28 drive for a game winning field goal. Does that sound like more coach or more QB?

@ElChema0719 Literally every superbowl except the 2nd rams sb had our defense crumble especially in the 4th quarter and required a Brady comeback
It also gave up 3 points until the 4th quarter with a pick six. Keep in mind, this was the greatest show on turf

As a pats fan bill os the goat coach, but it’s ALWAYS about the players. Coaches help and play a role, but as someone who coaches sports it’s always about the players. They win, they do it. We try to help them and it’s those who can not play who try to make it about coaches. It’s always 70-30/80-20 in the advantage of the players

It may have looked better, but it would not benefit the situation. If you suck, you might as well get something for the suckage in terms of draft pick. None of us would have been happier with seven wins. 😃

Mac is responsible for his own bad play overall. Towards the end of the season many players on the offense were injured and unavailable Zappe looked better. Zappe is just a little bt better than Mac imo.

Well Parker and juju and the oline sucked. We were last in wr separation and been last in pass block for awhile now give us waddle and hill and a better tackle the offense would have been way better. Now we at the point where we need 3 peices wr, line and qb . We need to spend and draft right this year it will be the best year to do the rebuild fast. Especially while we have a great defense. Resign dugger and Onwenu that's priority #1 since Fa is first.

Lombardi mentioned this week that he was wearing his 49ers Super Bowl Ring as a tribute to Walsh.

Lombardi likes to bring up the first Superbowl and throwing for 140yards but doesn't mention the 2nd Superbowl and 350+ passing yards or Belichick's genius defense getting torched by nick fricken foles or Jake delome. Not to mention the teddy bruschi, ty law, Willie mcginest, troy Brown even Adam venetari were all drafted by bill PARCELS not Belichick. Was always 80% Brady.

The correct way to build a team is build out the weapons and make sure you have a working offense first then add the QB. AS history has taught us, its year 4 of Mac and his duck throws and people still defend him because of the offensive pieces currently. Add MVH, Pittman, Trade for Fields and Draft a 2nd Round tackle and you have yourself a revampled and functional offense. Your welcome

@@lewisalba7825 I believe burrow was setting records for most sacked qb and don’t think they were winning much. Also blew out his knee and on the fast track to Andrew luck territory in terms of retiring early due to injuries. Stroud had decent pieces in place already…. And for the 2 good qbs I can call out a dozen bad or bust qbs in the same breath.

Lombardi destroys his credibility when he blasts BOB for the worse performance of the O during his run. He was given a damaged QB to try to fix, terrible O-line personnel, and hamstrung in hiring his own assistants. O'Brien was set up to fail - just more of BB's poor management at the end...
No fair fan who understands how sports and coaching works is saying that it was all BB or all TB12. It's just that this clown Lombardi who is BB mouthpiece telling anyone who would listen while TB12 was in his prime that BB could win at that level with any of the top 15 QB. This is the NFL. Most games end by 1 score. You are what your record says you are. We were horrible on offense, special teams and half the season middle of the pack on defense.
