Perhaps it this shows how she started to like technology - the other being the Rave area, these two being the only positive sights in her dreams. Like how you said, before her disease, she may have lived in an old-style industrial city, where it always snowed in winter, and where she wasn't such an outcast, but still had time to be alone. But the music suggest that perhaps it was this environment that caused her disease to manifest - the smokestacks polluting the winter snow.
Theory time go! The dress effect you get in the snow world reminds me of a dress you would wear to a funeral; how this world is related to the plant world with the "rusting" little children which is also related to the hospital area with more of those sick children but also child Sabitsuki and her "mother" (womb area, her black hair covering her face) stands out to me. There's also two places of this mother figure where she seems to have her internal organs spill (viscera effect).
@hornsune (continued) I see that pretty much Sabii's mother died while giving birth to her (in one certain event, little black haired girls combust, with the mother opening her stomach) and could show that Sabi's disease was transmitted from her mother. In order to get to the plant area, you have to touch a white flower, meaning purity and is a common color of flowers to give for funerals.
What I think about this is, before Sabi got this disease, she lived in an industrial city that snowed during winter. Maybe her parents got her that pretty dress or something.
Marika :3, I spy a picture of Ellen! Lol! I wonder who would have died... I personally think The Apartments was her old home! I mean, in consideration, The Apartments was right next to the Alleyway/Children's Hospital...
The Apartments connect to the Industrial Snow World, so it wouldn't surprise me if the apartment complex she lived in was actually inside that cold industrial area. Why the Industrial Snow World connects to the Plant Labyrinth? Beats me.
This is actually a good theory, if you use the whistle then little Sab will come to greet you. But maybe this is how she met smile or her other friend.
@SuperFlameRing I approve of your theory. As it happens, it probably affected others, too. I'm thinking of the Kaibutsu. But then there are the meathooks, hospital and oreko, the scientist.. this doesn't look like a natural disease after all. Of course, she is "dreaming" in flow, rendering the events only partially real.
@SuperFlameRing With "outfit", do you mean the black hood effect? If so, my theory on that one (and the steel pipe and tattoo effect) are fairly simple, she was part of a school/street gang, smile being the leader of said gang. They invaded the school at some point, probably because they realized something bad was going on? The kaibutsu sometimes have steel pipes themselves, smile has a hammer. They equipped themselves on a scrapyard and went to the corrupted school.
For some reason, the bass of this track creates vibrations in my headset that makes it near impossible to hear the rest of the song. I didn't came across the same problem with the other songs. Any idea?
@LapisLaser ,,,Maybe they used to meet up or chat online and share the contents of their diaries. Its almost like she's shared an experience with Madotsuki. The music particularly gives this impression.
Now then, let's just change that youtube.com to listenonrepeat.com and we're good to go! Waaait a minute, did youtube comments always allow links like this?
My pc died a few months back and I don't have the money to do anything about it, so I'm stuck with the shitty mobile youtube, so no, I didn't know that. That's actually real nice.
@nomyek200 Now that explains a lot. Namely, why her balcony is in such a poor condition. :) On a side note, believe it or not, but NES clone, popular in the Russia in the early 90s, looked *exactly* like the original Famicom. That's a hell of coincidence…or not?

This song makes me feel safe, but also extremely lonely. Like I'm reading through comments of an old, obscure video that I favorited many years ago.
This is probs my fave area and fave track from .flow. something about a snowy industrial place combined with this track just makes me feel...things.
I adore the Yume Nikki reference in this. It took me a while to realize it, but those two notes... snow world~~~
FEELS.

It's in the game too. I'd imagine it was deliberately mixed in to the actual track, however youtube's compression just makes it worse.
This is my favorite music because the piano sounds too high and sound good
the low hum of the machine calls to me
Peaceful 😊
one of my favorites from this game ^~^
I haven't even played this game but i always come back to this ost
play it it's worth it if you're really into the game's genre
Yes! I love this song in the game! Absolute favorite area in the whole game.

I am bleeding

Sounds like yume nikki's snow area.
But emptier...
The song is actually the song from Yume Nikki's snow area, just slowed down and at a lower pitch.
Why does this track somewhat remind me of Chernobyl?
@Silverinet so THAT'S how you find the little Sabitsuki! THANKS!
@LapisLaser ,,,Maybe they used to meet up or chat online and share the contents of their diaries. Its almost like she's shared an experience with Madotsuki. The music particularly gives this impression.
This place and its music are so similar to Snow World in Yume Nikki I can't even

Or just rightclick and select loop
actually it's exactly like Snow Area from Yume Nikki, give a look, Yume Nikki-Snow Area!
Great idea, To give that sense of coincidence. :D
