Lost my best friend and combat partner this year due to a brain tumor, we used to listen to this as kids and talk about days when we could prove ourselves as men of a new age, compassionate yet ready at a moments notice if the need called for violence. Wise yet able to learn from those old and young, to my dear brother, my left hand, I will continue to listen to this song well into my golden years, carrying your will with me the entire time, two boys, two renegades, two souls of the same kind. Rest easy Lance Corporal Rodney Glasser. I got it from here
This song reminds me of dancing through summers, not a care or a worry in our heads, flip flops, bikes, and pools all a daily part of life, when your only worries were storms that may ruin your plans and what game to play next. When you could get lost in the warm summer woods, dive into deep blue pools, and sit for hours on rocks warmed by the sunshine. It was always on on the radio, and it will forever live rent free in my heart
Why does this remind me of a small country town where a group of friends have a good time playing baseball for the high school and just hanging out in general
I wish the simulation would reset us back to 2015 when we still had this and hope in our hearts - if you are reading this - the world is a better place with you in it, love. Big Hugs - I will squeeze away your worries, feed you, and give you a reason to laugh and love again.
In our country Indonesia it always summer and we used to always ride a bike day or night everyday cruising on the small town me with my friends. miss those days, didn't even recognize it time went by so fast

I discovered this song when I moved towns due to devastating and life threatening circumstances. It's been 3 years since I've left my hometown and a lot has happened, good and bad. However every time I find myself re discovering this song it takes me down a road of nostalgia. It reminds me to never stop chasing my dreams and when you find yourself giving up just remember every tear you've shed, every fear you've felt, every anger and distress you have ever felt that has led up to this moment and remind yourself you will feel those feelings a million times over but never give up no matter how many punches life throws at you. Love from me x
once i went to my grandma's house at 2AM cus i was having a sleepover with my younger sis and she kicked me outta my bed the streets we're pretty clear but there were some cars driving
This song defined the late 2000’s - early 2010’s. For many people the nostalgia is real; walking around during the beginning of summer. School is out, and the only care in the world is what you’re going to do the following day. You walk around the lightly urbanized neighborhood in the late evening, warm and breezy like you’re on the beach. The streetlights you follow illuminate the aged and tarred roads. After you tired of venturing through your neighborhood, you sit on a street corner curb and lay on the grass, staring at the stars. Anxieties and responsibilities melt away into ecstasy, as you look up at the orange-starry sky. This is childhood
No nudity, s3x or drugs. Just talent. This is what this song is made out of. It doesn't need or take much to do something great sometimes. It's only just a little thing to you but for others it changes their day and sometimes their world. Anyway have a nice day/evening and stay safe ;) Edit: I just wanted to put a smile on someones face and not start a war in the replies ;)

I love how this comment section is just as peaceful as the song it’s self. Usually you’d fine people begging for like or just being rude, but I’ve only found people who wish you the best! I want to wish them the best too, just as much as I want to wish this reader the best because they are spending time just to read this comment while listening to an amazing song.
I just got back from traveling down the whole length of Route 66 with my 16yr old daughter. It was life changing for the both of us. She played this song on the radio several times out there. We were definitely renegades. The thing is it wasn't even planned. One day while riding with me she told me how depressed she was and we just kept driving. She's no longer depressed. She needed it. We both did. To whoever is reading this, don't just think about your dreams, live them. Find a way and do it. Peace to you all.
Same but me its with my online friends that i dont have contact with any more cuz my mom found out and nowi dont have social media and it makes me cry cuz i want to runaway from here cuz my life is hell full on hell
X Ambassadors shaped 2015 for me with this outstanding & nostalgic song. Every time I think back to Summer 2015, I always hear their album and ‘Renagades’. They made summer memorable. It’s nice to go down memory lane and relive this.
This is one of those songs that flood you with nostalgia of what you’ve been through and the foresight to expect what’s coming. No one truly knows their fate but this a song that makes you feel like you can tackle it. A down to earth song that is so magical and relatable.

My cousin loved this song. He died almost 2 years ago and everytime I hear this song I think of him. I miss him so much it hurts. He was like a brother to me. I wish he was still here.

This song reminds me of when me and my brother used to sneak out at night and go nowhere in particular. We would just go hang around places or break into abandoned buildings and search around for anything cool. Reminds me of when we would go night fishing with our friends without permission. Reminds me of when he ran away from home, and how sad it made me. I hope we meet again someday, brother.
the intro feels like getting farther and farther from home. straying from your comfort zone. always remember every morning or night i go away from home, seeking to both achieve for and comfort myself.
I remember setting in prison a few years ago listening to this. It strangely gave me hope to continue another day, now I'm working towards starting my own business, and then chasing my dream to be a musician one day. Music has unimaginable power *Update* I officially opened my business, I'm officially registered on google maps, have a website started and much more. Unfortunately my business is now temporarily closed due to a lovely driver totaling my truck 🙃. So now I have to save for a while before I can open back up....baby steps though...right?
@@anonymouspumpkin8296 thank you! And yes, music has kept me going when life wanted me to stop and crumble. Who knows, maybe one day my music can keep someone going like this song did me
I was aboard a 70 foot sailboat damaged by a sudden storm. We were two days out at sea with busted rigging. After fighting the strom for 10 hours we were exhausted. I was given permission to go below and get some sleep. The storm was still rocking the boat hard in every direction. I crawled into my bunk, turned on my Satelite radio and this song came on. It was the first time hearing it, I loved it. Everytime I hear this song, In my mind, I am back on that boat rocking and rolling, pitching up and down with danger in all directions just feet away from me. I slept like a baby, this song is time travel for me. Welcome aboard mates, all is well.

After they get to know you and you get to know them they would ask me if I wanted to sail we with them to wherever they were going. When I got old enough, I started going! It wasn't a full time job, I worked with Federal Express and I would transfer to diffrent Costal towns, ( in Florida.) From there I would find a nice sailboat hauled out of the water and volunteer to work on it for free. The owners LOVE free experienced help. They do NOT want to lose you. Now you travel on a nice Yacht, they pay for everything and have a good time. So long as you keep your job with Federal Express, you will be just fine. Get a job with Federal Express. @@alejandrorivas4585 Hoy, I thought I answered you a while back, I dont know why my answer to you was not posted. To put it as simple as I can, get a job with Fed Ex. Then transfer to the East Coast of Florida, from Melbourne south. Find some boat yards and help some one working on their boat and volunteer to help them. That's the fastest way to learn about Yachts. Eventually you will find a nice yacht that needs crew. Meanwhile you have a nice job with Federal Express. I hope this answer gets to you.

This feels like the song that you'd listen to when the decade ends, while during the entire decade you have grown into a child, Adult, Senior, whatever. Don't know why. It just does...maybe the lyrics is why. I mean, just listen. The first line: "Run away with me" can be a message to very early 2010's people that, even if they''re official adults, They're still young. They've got new paths to take and a new journey to venture through. It's almost the same with teens, everything is a new journey to their once fragile minded lives. And that's where the phrase "Lost souls in revelry" Comes in. Those lost souls were your child selves. You've grown. But you aren't done yet. That one phrase is a message to the new adolescents of the coming decade. "Running Wild, Running Free.". That means that for those new stages you're in, the soul of your previous stage still lies within you! "Two kids, you and me", another adolescent message, but for best friends to know if they still are. To look back on your best moments of the ten years you were there together. Bonding. Then there's the chorus. It speaks for everyone. You're living the life with the new abilities you can use to your advantage. The next Phrase is to those who hadn't lived to survive the decade through. "Long live the pioneers, rebels and mutineers". "Go fourth and have no fear" means that they went on through the best they can, never aware of when death will strike, so they just went without fear. Come close, lend an ear" Is usually a phrase meaning a story is about to be told, Those who lived the decade will be told stories and traditions of they're once alive relatives possibly. Then there's the phrase: "All hail the Underdogs, all hail the new kids, all hail the outlaws. Spielbergs, Kubriks". its in the millennial's honor of existence. "Its our Turn to make a move. its our turn to make amends. its our time to break the rules. Lets begin" would mean the present is looking up for everyone. They get to live every moment, and be free. and yeah. thats basically it. Yeesh this is a long paragraph I wrote Edit: HOLY S* SO MANYLIKES XD
it makes me want to skateboard down the street on a warm night listening to this song just because of the video. Edit:well I did it, i drove to an old street and just skated for a couple miles at around 1 o clock in the morning blasting this song on loop. I have no life...
from what I know of life so far, is that you give so much up and sacrifice for that mythical life, your time, energy, passion, hopes, values, ideals, and it did not fill me up but drained me. besides taking care of your health, there's no better advice that I could give to anybody than learn that those quiet moments are some of the best of life you'll ever experience. that place where your not ambitious or insecure or envious or wanting to achieve or scared of what others say or needing to prove yourself, or anything at all because you're already there. that feeling of smooth flow is the end unto itself. and if you get that from skating, man, I wouldn't give that up, even if I was 80 years old. I get that from biking, and I live for when the weather's nice enough to go. TLDR: whatever floats your boat.
@@Aidancordellthank you. i don't mean to be a fortune cookie here, but after visiting the hospital for a while, it put a lot of things into perspective. that a lot of what you see, isn't what you hear, and that we get so caught up in what others want us to be, or what we'd like to be, that we miss what actually makes life so sublime. jeez, I been listening to too much Alan watts.
I thought maybe I should write something. To all those missing the easier times. When the world wasn't in a constant panic. I understand you. I miss everything. I wanted to make memories with my friends out in the world, discovering; exploring. Definitely not through a computer screen trying to hold back tears with laughs and dark jokes. The only advice I have, is to make the most of it. Do things you want to do, just tweak them. I start to hyperventilate whenever I think of everything I'm missing out on. I want to live a full life, and I will. I'll stop being sad and pessimistic, and do what I can. I'll do it, so I won't have any regrets. I hope you do too because regrets are the worst. Do what you can now before you waste your time worrying about what you can't. I don't know you, but I know we're all going through this one, big, common problem together. So get out there, you downer :)

Reminds me of elementary school with all my friends, despite being lonely I enjoyed parts of it and I dream of going back to sitting at the playground on Friday while this plays and I'm with a book.
I am 52 years old. I have been to over 500+ concerts in my life and have seen just about everybody in the last 35 years. I went to see their opening act, had no interest in X-Ambassadors, but decided to stick around. HOLY F%CK THEY ARE THEY GOOD LIVE! Only time I have ever had to pick up my jaw off the floor at a concert. As people pointed out the energy they radiate is palatable. I honestly don't know if I have seen a better showman for a band. Sam Harris IMHO is on the same level as Freddie Mercury. Absolutely amazing and no question I am going to see them again at any cost when they come back around.
Since the band is from Ithaca, NY and I grew up there they have been a big influence for me. They recorded this on the Main Street of Ithaca, Cayuga st and they skate into the high school that I'm currently enrolled in. Which is weird because Ithaca is such a small town and people only know about it for Cornell. It's just so exciting to see my house and my school in this video.
An interesting thing about my state that my dad told me was that both Chirs Pratt and Anna Faris(who're currently married) both come from Washington, and currently live in Washington. And I'm Washingtonian myself. Darran Norris, the current voice for Cosmo in The Fairly Odd Parents is from Ferndale, WA; and Ryan Stiles from Whose Line Is It Anyway? is from Seattle.
Mikaela Nielsen I've met Ryan Styles twice. Once at the upfront theater that he owns in Bellingham, WA. Once walking through old fairhaven on the way to Village books. He is beyond awesomely genuine, and really funny even when he is just out being human like the rest of us! 😎
Life is a sorrow, overcome it Life is a song sing it. Life is a struggle, accept it. Life is a tragedy, confront it. Life is luck, make it. Life is too precious, do not destroy it. Life is life, fight for it. - Mother Teresa
The love of my life mentioned this song and I can't help but think of her laugh. Her smile. Her touch. Her eyes. Her EVERYTHING. She is the most amazing in the world and makes anyone else seem simple
for whoever is listening, find where you belong in this world, don't stay stuck in one spot, explore your infinite possibilities, this is your life, live it!
One of my most favourite songs by X - Ambassadors as it represents what it means to be free and to enjoy life for what it is and not for what it is not. This message is captured perfectly by the teen or adolescence riding his skateboard which is something I often imagine myself doing. I love the title Renegades as well as while it has a negative conation associated with it as it means "a person who deserts a party or cause for another." here it's meaning is more positive where it's less about deserting a particular party or cause and more about not living by the standards of others or in other words living life on your own terms. All in all "Renegades" is a marvelous banger which was made by an incredible band and thankfully they would continue to receive more support and attention for their music.
I'm not someone who does this, but I have had this song on repeat for the past 4 days. No joke this is the only song I have listened to in the time. And no regrets this is the best thing I have heard in a looooonnnnnggggg time. Can't wait for these guys to go big. Good luck friends!
This song just has a peace to it. A vibe that makes an outcast or different person feel seen just for a few minutes. Such a nostalgic and amazing song 😊
The most dangerous thing about our generation is that we were all told that we can’t change the world. Now each and every one of us has that hunger deep inside of us. And when all of us work together, the world will be a better place.
There's something calming with the background video. Someone who's just skating along who's just doing it for fun, not to do mad tricks or get huge air. Just casually skating in the middle of the night. Somewhat nostalgic.
@@__Daisy__ the hardest thing done in the video is an Ollie. Just casually skating along the street isn't very difficult if you know what can be done with a skateboard.

Man i remember years ago laying on the bed stoned AF on a Monday morning and letting You tube play out then this strange song came on, again was too stoned to change it so i let it be, Surprisingly the instrumentals and the vocals enchanted me through the entire song as it was not my go to genre till when it ended it was like my high ended as well i even had to replay it twice after😌.
Many of us grew up with parents who didn't care. Thank you so much for caring for her. She's going to lead a great life with you as her role model.

@@alejandrorivas4585 Hoy, I grew up on the east coast near boat yards. I would volunteer to help people work on their boats. Yeesh this is a long paragraph I wrote
Edit: HOLY S* SO MANYLIKES XD

from what I know of life so far, is that you give so much up and sacrifice for that mythical life, your time, energy, passion, hopes, values, ideals, and it did not fill me up but drained me. besides taking care of your health, there's no better advice that I could give to anybody than learn that those quiet moments are some of the best of life you'll ever experience. that place where your not ambitious or insecure or envious or wanting to achieve or scared of what others say or needing to prove yourself, or anything at all because you're already there. that feeling of smooth flow is the end unto itself. and if you get that from skating, man, I wouldn't give that up, even if I was 80 years old.

That is the life
I still remember when my 7th grade teacher played this song on the projector. I miss that feeling of being a kid again

There's something calming with the background video. Someone who's just skating along who's just doing it for fun, not to do mad tricks or get huge air. Just casually skating in the middle of the night. Somewhat nostalgic.
Yes. Having the open street to himself and leaving the sidewalk behind.
I don't know if you know this but just skating like that is extremely difficult....
@@__Daisy__ the hardest thing done in the video is an Ollie. Just casually skating along the street isn't very difficult if you know what can be done with a skateboard.
@@__Daisy__ Using a skateboard isn't that hard it just takes some practice, not to brag or anything but it took me a day to learn how to control and ride a skateboard
Slayer S just skating about the street is, tricks aren’t
No importa cuando leas esto... ¡Tú puedes lograrlo!
It's strange how the background video matches the tone of the song exactly. I love it
Alexandra Kathro there would be no point in a background video if it didn't relate at all
So true
sameee can't stop listening!
This song makes me feel free in the nature at night, amazing piece!
This is the best song for late night drives when it’s raining and you can see the street lights reflecting off the rain, and it’s calm, because the roads are clear and you’re just relaxed.
Has a place in my heart ever since.
It reminds of days without masks without 6 feet distancing. The parties, the life, the friends. Looking through comments is like living your old life. May everyone of you have a happy life.
Yeah I love listening to these song and remember my middle school dances and all that, times where the only thing I worried about was getting a girl to dance with, the good times
dang, idk why this resonated with me thank you
Yeah
And now imagine that you just started middle school but its quarantine
what are friends?? or parties?? sounds cool. kappa
Ahh.. to everyone who is reading this... let me do something for you... let me promise you everything will go back to normal. Maybe you’ve lost things, or poeple on the way... but hey... that’s life right? Let’s all push forward together alright? Summers coming where I live :) good chill days yall
