I wonder if Ian Anthony Rhett and link all understand how much they've impacted their audience and how many dark times they got us through just by being themselves.
Rhett and link are two amazing people. They believed in those two good friends and their content and when they were going down helped them. Its crazy to think that most conent creators would have found that opportunity to make money but instead they didnt give a duck about that. They purly believed in the worm that went into smosh and nothing else. Beautiful humans that people should look up to more cause they are a good example of the life we should want

Rhett and Link saved Smosh when it was VERY easy for the oldest TH-cam duo/channel to just be absolutely done for, thanks to Defy Media. R&L are beloved by the Smosh community even more now because they treated the whole thing with respect and decency. We love you Rhett and Link! ❤

I’ve known about them for a loooong time I just know that their content in its long form isnt for me because that level of wholesomeness isn’t what I look for but in small doses through shorts, their mentions, and roles in other videos they’re pretty great. My brothers disabled and in bed most of the time and I know these guys have kept him entertained for years now so I’m massively thankful to them for that, they’ve made caring for him WAY easier on me and my mum.

Yes! It makes me think of those stories of how a farmer loses his farm to the bank but when they try to auction off his equipment and such nobody else bids so the farmer is able to get everything back and start to rebuild.
It was a huge moment for a lot of people who care deeply about either or both channels. It’s just so incredibly kind and amazing that they did that for Ian. Smosh very easily could’ve died that day when Defy shut down. But their friends didn’t let that happen, and gave Ian the creative freedom he (and everyone else there) had wanted for a while. And then Anthony came back and there was zero hesitation. They just said yes, of course, obviously you can buy it back. We love you guys. There’s a noticeable new energy at Smosh since Anthony came back and they both own Smosh again. Everyone in the cast has fresh, bright energy, and Ian looks genuinely happier and creatively fulfilled. I’m so happy that my favorite childhood channel helped out one of my other favorite childhood channels 🥹❤️
I've loved Rhett and Link since I first saw their content as a teenager. It's amazing to see them doing well, expanding their company, and helping out fellow TH-camrs who could have otherwise been screwed over.
Rhett and Link invested very good in buying Smosh and letting Ian keep control of it. Smosh forever. Rhett and Link didnt fall for the greed and profit, they helped Smosh grow by doing this.

Whatever company owned Smosh before was abysmal because their content just didn't reach me. When GMM bought them all of a sudden I was interested in watching Smosh again. I started getting pop-ups and recommendations and I've been watching them ever since. I like to think it was the same for a lot of people and that's why they were able to regain ownership again. GMM gave them an actual platform and the spotlight instead of hiding them away in a dark corner of the internet.
I liked alot of the content coming from the Defy days. Defy was just run badly as a company and part of that was not promoting them well. The videos are out there on TH-cam of the stuff from the Defy Era. Some to look up: Summer and Winter games, spelling bikini wax, cell outs, Mari-craft, what R those, Netflix and chill.

People don’t realize that they didn’t sell ALL of smosh, they diluted their shares enough to give a piece of the pie and control to Ian and Anthony. They did this because they will make way more money with the less shares and having Anthony coming back.
If I had to guess, by diluting shares you mean they functionally sold a majority of the total shares to Ian and Anthony thus giving them majority ownership of smosh while retaining a stake in the company
Rhett and Link are genuine angels. I don’t think any other content creator has been doing it for as long (save like… some of the cockbite mfs, aka RoosterTeeth) without controversy. It is almost unimaginable that they are just genuinely good people💀
