So I'm assuming u have the Aisin 5spd A650E - that is what my GS 300 runs. My Manual states that the full Capacity is 8.3 quarts - so when you dump the pan and filter your lucky to drain 3.5 to 4 quarts - leaving an approximate 4 to 4.3 qts. in the torque converter, cooling lines and misc interworkings of the trans. So once you refill you need to run the transmission with a disconnected cooling line and allow it to pump the remaining dirty fluid out always measuring what is taken out and replacing the exact amount and repeating until your fluid is clean. Otherwise you just put in a clean filter and mixed your new fluid with 4 quarts of filthy fluid. Just some food for thought... There are plenty of vids that show how to do this - when fluids this dirty you need to do a complete flush.
My is300 has 127,000 miles and no records of a transmission fluid change. Still shifts very smooth do you think it’s safe to change all the A/T fluid? Without messing anything up
If u r not planning on selling it any time soon I would but it’s me… I always do all the fluids on cars with over 100k, even if selling is saying he/she did it, ppl always say that just to sell cars, plus some use cheap oil and fluids…
tony arcely guerra you can, you don’t even have to use fully synthetic its all personal preference on this cars, I personally use fully synthetic and still do oil change every 3k miles so...
