If you chaos you might never get what you want, if you alt it first, and get 2 mods that you want, then regal to get a third that you want/scour if you don't, you have much higher control which is worth it in the very high level maps where you are looking for very specific mods
I agree completely on what you have said. I wasnt pointing out which game is better, its different for everybody, I just feel like the playerbase of POE will be too small in few months to keep Kripps interests, but we will see.

Start doing maps at level 70, because up to that point you get full xp for farming docks. If you want to rise in map levels, attempt as many as possible, but overall it doesn't actually matter. You need at least 75% all resist, except chaos, just get as much chaos as you can. At least 4k hp imo, depending on what class you play. Lower level maps can be done with 3k, but it's definitely not recommended for melee. I'm running out of characters, hope this helps though.
I don't mind it at all. Trying to complete/perfect my build, trying out new maps, seeing what the bosses are. Trying to better myself to get to that next level of maps. I like the challenge. Anyway, if you get bored then you always have the option to roll another character and possibly have the resources to make it kick ass :)

try running the legde in merciless a couple of times. Then try any other map. The trick is to know what to look for. For example Imbued wands, or Thicket bow. Even if they're white, they're maybe worth 2-3GCP with the right ilvl
If you can do the docks comfortably and the last WP in act 3, then I'd say you're good to do at least easier maps like lvl 66 magic ones. Have good resists, play cautiously at first, and if you're finding it easy then try a 67 or rare 66. I like mods that affect the map rather than me, such as map is a maze, it's larger, magic/rare mobs, etc. I don't like curses applied to me so much or monsters do lots of extra dmg. Good luck!

You also have to take into consideration that one just made a "big" announcement and is a blizzard game and the other is a indie company which this is there first game and its still in beta. One is built for casual to mid range players. While the other is for the hardcore gamer. PoE doesn't need a bigger audience overall GGG has said they have almost zero overhead costs. They will do fine with a small amount of consistent players. Hype doesn't =/= a better game.
Another dude I met online just has absolute loads of stuff without playing as much as Kripp I'm sure. He claims he farms equivalent to an exalted an hour. I wouldn't believe this however I see how wealthy he is as well as having almost all the uniques in the game. Knowing this makes me sad with my petty farm speed so, I agree with you. If Kripp could pass on some of his wisdom to us on how to acculmulate wealth quickly I would oh so greatly appreciate it.

Just go to xfire and check the current state of the two games. Also you can use google trends and compare D3 with POE searches within the last 90 days. D3 has continous interest, while POE interest is dropping drastically. Numbers dont lie
Well yah he has stream viewers to sell to, but he also does nearly all content in the game so just playin alot and knowing what to grab in high end maps adds up alot of things to sell

hi kripp...I think I'm fucking up and you're going to have to stop me...my first and only character is on act 3 hardcore merciless, I'm fairly happy with my gear (2h mara), so I used what I had left over and bought a 5L terror maul (ilvl 69, lvl req 67), anyways I gambled away on this white item hoping it would be 1337 good, I spent everything I had, 1 alch followed by 33 chaos, then scouring followed by 130 alts.....nothing good came out of it (wanted 170%+ phys dmg). Am I crazy?

He only plays games that challenge him to think. Games like Battlefield and Call of Duty don't do that. As a matter of fact, not many games these days do.

its not rocket science... I have a job i do all day for which i get currency for. Kripp does the same with PoE so hence he has lots of currency, He just can't by tofu with it. :P

Once you hit level 75 the XP you get from docks is very minimal, so I'd say that's when you'll want to start maps.
Doesn't the game become very lonely at high levels in hardcore? I mean how many players are lv 88 in there xD

I played very rare map yesterday the "Golden forest" that freaking hard!!!
Im 73 now and started maps at 70. I bought my first map for a chaos orb and since then u have to be lucky to find mapq
