I think it's worth noting that the "fire jump rope" is worth avoiding unless you like burns on yourself. This activity is more enjoyable as a spectator than a participant... trust me.

Do some research. I love Thailand, but it's just a lie, if you say, that those elephants (like seen in the video) are getting a well treatment. An elephant is a wild animal and does not exist for doing tricks for tourist, so that his owners can make money with it. What do you think, it needs, that an elephant starts to act like that? They totally break his spirit with torture and cruel stuff until he learns to do, what they want from them. That is cruelty.

Very touristy.
Instead, some more like Koh Kood (paradise, shhhh), the mellow parties in Koh Chang (Lonely Beach), the islands of Trang (Emerald Cave), the tea plantations in Mae Salong, The Festival of Lights in Sukhotai, far and away in Nan and so many more things.

I'm travelling around Thailand at the moment and my favorite spot so far has been Prachuap Khiri Khan. It's a small fishing village 5hrs south of Bangkok. It's cheap, it's not a tourist hotspot like all the places you mentioned and it's beautiful. If you're after a more authentic cultural experience then I'd go to Prachuap. I vlogged some of my time there if you want to see the place for yourself.
I went to Koh Tao because you say it was you´re favourite island. Now it is my favourite to. Was planning to stay there 1 week, then go to Koh phi phi. I met a beautiful woman there on day 3, and I ended up staying 4 weeks instead. Thank you for awesome videos and thank you for the tip :)

Totally agree. These are the kind of people I can not stand. The typical disrespectful tourists who only go to places to drink, and to get rid of. Also very reprehensible to get on elephants and enjoy them as if they were clowning entertainers.

hahahahahaha hahahahahaha hahahahahaha hahahaha you are an idiot if you think that when a human sits a an elephant it hurts the elephant, the thai people are using elephants for over 600 years, they can easily carry trees over 600 kilo's so a 70 kilo person they wont feel anything
+Thijs Wezenberg it's not because we sit on the elephants that's going to hurt them. It's the training process. Most of the elephants are trained since they were really young and was seperated from their mamas. The trainers are harsh..not as 'kind' as you thought they might be to the poor animals. Riding the elephant is only going keep this cycle going. trust me I'm a Thai

i am now an old traveller 58 years. I have travelled through southeast asia over 30 years. But one thing i must tell you-leave Thailand and look Philippines, Myanmar ,Malaysia, Vietnam and Indonesia. Thailand is for beginner, the real stunning places are in other countries, one of the favourite places for me is Palawan on the Philippines and off course Myanmar and Borneo. Thrust an old Asian traveller.
