Freeza having an impeccable memory to recall each random line of numbers to each planet in an entire universe is something I am here for. Forget remembering each line, at a certain point any brain will acknowledge a set of words. But random numbers you come up with? And no doubles? Amazing.
He might associate the numbers with what part of the galaxy the planet is in. Sure, there's a lot of planets in a galaxy, but they seem to portray the collecting of planets to just be the ones they've (Freeza's family) taken from other races and not just claiming any barren or lush world without a sapient species.
For reference, regarding the Freeza clearing his throat bit: Team Four Star debuted this movie at a convention, *before* Freeza had appeared in the series. They'd also kept it hidden that Freeza was going to be played by LittleKuriboh, creator of Yu-Gi-Oh abridged, which was the first real popular series of this format, making him kind of the godfather of anime abridghing. So, when Freeza starts off with a different voice, that's Lanipator doing his Linda Young impression (a voice actress who played Freeza in one of the many DBZ dubs, and someone he already had an impression of for a different anime abridged series), only to then reveal that it would actually be LittleKuriboh. That's also why Dodoria has the line about being an "In the now kinda *guy*", they hadn't come up with the idea to have Dodoria be a woman yet.
@@geicuionut7159 And the Canadian opening. Seriously, I never knew why there was so much hate for the English version of GT until I learned that the U.S.A. and Canada had different dubs with different openings. I fully understood afterwards, though.
The theory that Goku's father is a bald man with a moustache is more or less true - that's exactly what old man Gohan looks like, and he was a true father figure for Goku!
Heck, even if Goku were to ever meet Bardock, I imagine he would still always consider Grandpa Gohan to be his true father. Especially given how much respect he has for his mentors throughout his life. Goku seems the sort who would put actions above bloodline.
I'd love to see an OG dragon ball reaction! It's an integral part of the series and you all should definitely watch it, and while it's goofy starting out, once you get past the 1st arc or so, it's honestly better then actual DBZ in terms of writing and the choreography of fights.
the choreography had to be better back then, because during fighting they still moved at a speed that people could see.... noadays they portray speed with a still image
I'd be down for Dragon Ball/Z reactions. Probably go for Kai though, just to avoid filler because hot damn, there is so much where it doesn't need to be Only downside is that they change some of the OST
Not to mention that the setup for the second one, from one of Bardock's lines to him then plowing effortlessly through Frieza's men, was pretty much a shot-for-shot recreation (or at least as close as they could get with the available footage) of Optimus Prime running down the Decepticons on his way to fight Megatron. It's a shame none of them got the reference, because that's my favorite part of this whole movie.

Yes there is GT aswell but it don't really tie in to anything and I'm not even sure it's considered "canon"

It's really funny how Goku's parents' personalities have changed so much. Before Bardock seemed like a average Saiyan that didn't seem to give a fuck, but later on you see that Bardock wasn't like an average Saiyan. He cared for his wife, and son, Goku. Also, his power level is pretty inconsistent since he's considered a low level Saiyan while his son, Raditz is considered middle class yet when he was blowing past Frieza's elite warriors, his power level is significantly higher than Raditz and is on the level of Nappa yet was always a low level Saiyan. Which also he commanded his own unit yet from everthing I've seen no middle class Saiyan has their own unit they command...
@@mexcore14 Maybe when he was sent to the past since he became a Super Saiyan and maybe when he was facing Frieza's Henchmen before dying, but it's weird because of his low class level while Raditz was considered low in the middle class (while Bardock was considered high in low class) and Nappa in high middle class.

13:17 I believe there's a fan theory that says Freeza is just too lazy to bother remembering the individual names of planet rulers. So he just orders them to all have the same name as the planet.
There is one thing I would like to clarify regarding Bardock and Gokus lore. In recent years, it revealed in the manga that Bardock and his wife (Gine) secretly sent Goku to Earth after Bardock discovered Freizas plan to eradicate the Saiyan race. This was due to Frieza knowing about the Legend of the Super Saiyan, and although it was considered nothing more than a childrens tale adult Saiyans told their young, Friezas constant interest into the matter raised huge red flags to Bardock, leading him to convince his wife of the incoming doomsday. In hopes that he would live a peaceful life, Gine and Bardock loaded up Goku into a ship Bardock obtained, and gave an emotional goodbye to their son, telling him to be happy and meet wonderful people. Bardock still faced Frieza head on and died along with the Planet (or so he was supposed to). Now this was a bit controversial for the Dragonball community, as many who grew up with the series weren't pleased with the erasure of Grandpa Gohan and Gokus first interactions from the timeline, as this had been the truth of Dragonball for almost 30+ years, however it was later proven by many that the memories we saw of Goku and Grandpa Gohan never truly happened, and they were all anime only events. That being said, many to this day prefer the original telling of Gokus story, as opposed to the canon events. I myself prefer the idea of Bardock and Gine having cared deeply about Goku, to the point they wanted him living a better life, away from the violence the Saiyan race experienced and led, as well as the Tyrant and heartless ruler that was Frieza.
Really, the only issue with any of those changes was the age Goku was depicted in those rewritten events. It made him out to be way too old for the age he was sent to Earth. Aside from that, none of the changes are really a problem. Unless we're to consider that maybe when Goku hit his head, he reverted to a much younger mental state for a period of time, so Gohan had to treat and raise him as a baby until he caught back up, so to speak. Also, since Goku didn't even know his age until he learned how to count above 10, it's possible that his conception of the time he was raised by Gohan is also screwy. Resulting in any depictions we see of his age during his time with Gohan possibly being misinterpretations through his own eyes.
The Para Para Bros from GT... Specifically the 4kids dub of GT, is what Bardock dies to. At least the JP version was tolerable. No wonder Bardock accepted the sweet embrace of death.
Someone named after the planet Vegeta? No, it's actually the other way around. Vegeta (the one we know) is the fourth Vegeta in the royal line. His father was the third Vegeta, and so on. Not sure if HIS father was also called Vegeta or that skipped a generation or two of naming, but the first Vegeta named the planet after himself. It was first called Plant, and the Saiyans were not the native species there. They came from another planet Salada (Salad, get it?) after the planet was destroyed. It's why every Saiyan is named after a type of vegetable or even just vegetable itself.

Bardock's Movie is ACTUALLY a canon Dragon Ball Z movie. Basically it is the Story of Bardock's last stand again Frieza attempting to save Planet Vegeta
I still don’t remember why planet Vegeta is called SOL by Frieza
I believe SOL is short for "Sh*t Outta Luck" which is appropriate considering.
DRAGON BALL REACTIONS YES PLEASE!!
I do say that if you guys watch OG Dragon Ball for the begining, it would be really sweet
OG Dragon Ball would be cool to see.
Y’all should watch OG Dragon Ball it’s so fun!
Reaction to the OG Dragonball? I'd like that.
I have seen the original probably more times than DBZ and I have watched DBZ 3 or 4 times xD
i mean it not different then having cities named after historical figures the planet is named after vegeta the first keep in mind our vegeta is vegeta the fourth
Those dancing things were from GT
I would definately watch a Dragon Ball reaction. There is just so much charm to young Goku, they tried to recapture that charm in DB Super, but failed badly.
100% for dragon ball and gt is the most canonically sound part of the dragon ball series
Team Four Star had decided that its perfectly fine to write villains as assholes, that's Vegeta and Bardock are not PC at all lol.
The dancing guys are from DragonBall GT.
I’d love to see Dragon Ball reactions
I'd watch an OG Dragon Ball reaction series
