  • Well, that's what they are! This footage shows many of the traffic bollards in my collection activating as power is applied.
From left to right, the bollards are:
Pearce Gowshall K90, Haldo Springbak (plain aspect), Pearce Gowshall K30, Haldo Springbak (keep left aspect), Triplex Traffic HE 65, Simmonsigns Simbol, Unknown and Road Signs Franco Unknown. All but the Simbol utilise a vertical spine positioned within the bollard shell that accommodates 2 - 4 fluorescent lamps.

Did you work for any of the companies whose bollards appear here?

StreetLightOnline Trans-glas products Ltd. My father owned it

Coincidentally, I happened to pass a Junction Ahead sign made by TGP whilst on a walk earlier today! Is the company no longer in operation? There doesn't seem to be anything online about them these days.

StreetLightOnline sadly not, we designed and manufactured the Grp Bollards that Pearce sold as well as the grp sign faces for internally illuminated traffic signs, for the rest of them

That's a shame, but it's interesting to hear that your products were used by the other manufacturers - thus, I guess that the Pearce K30 (I believe it is) seen third from the left would have been produced by TGP in reality, then? What brought about the demise of the company in the end?

Did i ever tell you that my pearce gowshall k101 metal bollard was the last to be made? It was made from spares just for me as the sales ma ager asked them to do it for me as i was a collector. I got it cheap and it was delivered to county hall notyingham in 1995. It is soooo heavey.
Sadly David Knox who worked for them moved to simmons signs but passed away somehow. He was a great help i kick starting my collection.
    Whats the end bollard?

A "Frankenstein" bollard? I love it! The bollard on the end is a Road Signs Franco with a home-made internal lighting spine consisting of a piece of wood and four 13 W PL-S lamps.

How many bollards do you have? I have 11 all working and factory fresh. I see a pearce gowshall k30 ( produced by trans glass products which is why the tgp30s look similar but not fibre glass), k90 a simbol by simmons signs and 2 haldo dev spring backs not sure about the 2 at the far right

I think that my total stands at eleven too, though not all of them are pristine - the Triplex HE65 has certainly seen life, for example!
