    Great review! The instructions do say this is going to be the most detailed Hogwarts ever, so I’m assuming they are referring to the outside. We are definitely getting more, I guess until the Max TV series launches and we get a castle series based on how that one looks.
    As for the price, the troll definitely added to the price, but so did the molded rock pieces for the base. However I will say looking at how big the actual set looks, it definitely deserves the big price tag.

      Oh I didn’t even think about the tv show they want to do, oh lord I can’t imagine starting this process over again LOL!
      You’re right on the price, I think it is deserving it just feels over priced for what you get in the interior, to me at least. Thanks for watching!

    This is undeniably the “most detailed”and accurate minifigure-compatible Hogwarts Great Hall we ever got, at least from the exterior. The interior still has a few mising details like the podium and a fireplace, which would’ve been great to see. As for the individual rooms, I do wish that they had walls just to make them look a bit more substancial. I really like the minifigure selection, even though six of them all use previous minifigure pieces. That means we could see more detail on a few new figures like Dumbledore, Professor Vector, and the Fat Friar. Just to make a correction, Professor Vector was the Arithmancy teacher, and the figure looks really detailed for a character we only see in the background. For a regular set sold on the market, this is quite expensive, but I think it looks like it is worth the price because of how much detail it has and the amount of figures it comes with. Maybe you did not think the set was worth the value, but others may feel different, and that’s fine.

    I agree with your take about the identity crisis. I got into this castle system looking for something more than just a display piece and to have some cool play features. What I've seen so far does not impress. Don't get me wrong, Atticus done a great job on this one and it certainly looks better than those small and cramped Boathouse and the Owlery, but the trend is there. Maybe "most detailed" refers to sheer amount of scenes and areas they're trying to cover here, but level of detail and love to individual parts surely had to be sacrificed to make this happen.

    I think that there is more to come and than we can judge if it is done right or not.
    Because the boot house was also first and didn’t make sense until we could see where it was connected with.
    But I still want to change this nice building, funny isn’t it, because why do I think I can make it better for myself.
    I wan’t to integrate things that wasn’t used here.
    Thank you for your instructions and vision, helps a lot
    Bye Mirjam

    I think my biggest problem with the set is that it is essentially just a big square. And, for only a little effort (and thinking outside the box [somewhat literally]) they could have broken that entirely by placing the great hall at an angle (however slight) to the base. The result of them not doing so is that the set has these very unyielding dimensions that make it look... almost less welcoming than it should, I think? There's something distinctly less 'warm' about this than the last iteration of the great hall.
    Unfortunately, I feel obliged to get this because I'd like to complete the castle as they move forwards, and I am especially interested in what they do with the round keep, since that appears like it's going to be a much more major component to this iteration of Hogwarts than it has ever been before.

      I see what you’re saying… but at the same time making it askew throws off the footprint for people who put things on shelves. But yeah I do think the flat rectangular-ness of it makes it look off

    • @princessofthecape2078
      @princessofthecape2078 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@legomaster7388 The base could still be square. Just offset the keep/courtyard by a few degrees on the top using jumpers and it would fix things. Yeah, it would probably require 100-150 more bricks to do, but it would alleviate the 'rectangle on rectangle' effect at work presently.

    I think the corredor is actually more acurrate to the castle bc if the 2 rooms where bigger and back to back i would not make sense for the characters to change rooms just like that, they need to get out of 1 room and go to the other one just like in real life

    • @legomaster7388
      @legomaster7388  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I mean that’s fair but rooms do back up against each other too and there’s no doors into the corridor which would have been cool actually if there were. Good thoughts, thanks for watching!

    I don't know, beside the mini-figures this set doesn't impress me at all. There is too much light grey in the bottom, the stair is kinda odd, the interior is plane with no fireplace and only 2 House tables and the under rooms are more like GWP sets. I definitely want to see the future of this castle version before spending so much money on the GH.
