I have a date palm tree farm right behind my house and love watching these grow. They hand pollinate the trees.

this video is really well-made and informative, i appreciate the effort put into showcasing date palm cultivation. however, i wonder if relying heavily on desert agriculture might not be sustainable in the long run. given the increasing water scarcity issues, do you think it’s worth investing so much in these farms when we could be exploring more sustainable crops?

Hello. Thank you for your wonderful videos and this one of date farming is special to me. In the video the writing on the screen says the trees are planted 1.5 metres apart. That cannot be right as the trees look to be about 15 to 20 feet apart. Please can you tell me the correct spacing?

this video is really interesting, i appreciate the effort you put into showcasing date palm cultivation! however, i can’t help but wonder if the environmental impact of large-scale farming in arid regions is being fully addressed. it seems like a fine balance between agriculture and preserving natural ecosystems, and i’d love to hear your thoughts on that.

What is the name of the "dwarf" date palm tree shown at the beginning of the video?
These palm trees produce their date clusters very close to the ground.
With such short palm trees, the dates are easily harvested by hand, without the need of tall -- and expensive -- harvesting machinery.
    Does anybody know the...
    ..."Common" name?
    ..."Scientific" name?

It is Barhi for crunchy and fresh. They are same as the others dwarf just
give flower at the 3rd year that s why very close to the ground. Not bonsai dates.
After 10th years you need to use machinery for harvest.

PlantEx plant packing guidelines for shipping long distance:
There are high chances of plant damage and die for long-distance shipping because of 4 reasons in the packing process:
    1. There is a space between the soil level in the cup and the top cover. The soil will fall off while transiting.
    2. The plant is completely covered with plastic and no option for air circulation as plants require a good amount of air.
    3. Outside cardboard box fully covered the plant and no air from outside can enter and hence the heat inside the box will be very high. The plant will be naturally steamed due to this reason.
    4. No option to get light for the transit time.
The plant may not survive for more than 2 days. Leaves will fall due to humidity. Also, the plant may be uprooted due to space.
Suggestions for sending plants for a long distance for 7-8 days:
    1. Fill the space above the soil with water-holding material and paper bubbles
    2. Make air holes in plastic as well as cardboard.
    3. One transparent window should be there in the cardboard box for light.
    4. Utilize PlantEx service for shipping live plants.
PlantEx will come to your home and pack your plants and take them for shipping. PlantEx will safely deliver your plants to the end customer. (Service is available in India and Malaysia now)
