- Is Pagani Design getting better at the affordable watch game? The PD-1784 is a budget GMT featuring the Seiko NH34A automatic GMT movement. I think you'll get a sense of how crisp this dial looks after watching this in-depth unboxing video.

I love everything about this watch, it's perfect. The watch I bought before arrived yesterday and I was amazed. Pagani Design is a cost-effective watch
She's a beaut! PD definitely has the budget conscious in-mind.
Nice review! I have the actual watch this one is paying homage to - the Longines Spirit Zulu Time, and I do absolutely love it. That said, Pagani Design has done a fantastic job putting out this GMT for about 1/16th the price! I have no problem with PD or homage watches in general- heck, I'm wearing my PD moonwatch as I type this😂.
Great to hear! SO many people have commented over on my PD-1701 v3 review that they own the Omega, but wear a PD as a sort of "beater." I wonder if you'll pickup this one under the same circumstances?!
Great review for a very nice watch! The colour combination and the classic numerals look stunning. Not that fussed about a bi-directional bezel as it's no great hardship, but no date on a GMT is a slight miss if you're crossing the date line. Again, no big deal because that doesn't happen very often! The Pagani logo only... great, less clutter on the dial. The double engraved end links don't look bad to me, I'll think of them as a bit of a feature. And the lume, well... typical Pagani, same same dimness and fadeiness! I've popped one in my Alibasket as I like the look of the watch and I'm sure I'll love it close up. Again, thanks for another great review! And all the very best for 2004 🎉 🕑 🎉
The numerals added with the gold colored surround really does look great. Then the logo is the same color. Nice. Well, if this is traditionally used as an office GMT, you're staying in the same locale, so the date window just becomes a preference of whether you like one or not. I feel that's not a GMT rule break in the case of a NON traveler's GMT. While I was bummed that the bezel isn't "correct," I don't usually use it to track a 3rd time zone....so not a big issue for ME either. It will stay put. But great grip on this bezel knurling! I'd love to see them join the lume party....!
Enjoyed the video Witt thanks. Feels like a missed opportunity to me. Very poor lume, poor match of the end links to the case, date missing on a GMT watch and the wrong bezel used. Pagani make better watches than this for cheaper. Most will be expecting and waiting for a price drop. Thanks again
Thanks for sharing! I agree with your points. While the dial looks fantastic, they cut a lot of other corners. Still a great buy for automatic office GMT, but would be great to touch on those areas for improvement.
I agree. But on reddit they posted the watch and a lot of the feedback was that they liked the no date. Watch nerds are weird.
@@shadiahmad9986I think the majority prefer no date. I'm outside the norm...I like a date, and love a day/date even more!
@@shadiahmad9986 In that case, Pagani have unfortunately listened to feedback too much this time. A GMT watch without a date is a bit like a chrono that only measures seconds elapsed but not minutes. Once you start removing important functionality, it turns a tool watch into a fashion watch.
But this is an office GMT...the thought is that you're staying in the same/home location. So, the date just becomes a preference of whether you like that or not, no? I'm just speculating. Again, I prefer a date on ALL watches, even if it isn't as aesthetically pleasing as a no date version.
Nice ,honest review and nice image and shots. Subed
Much appreciated! I call 'em as I see 'em...
Well I hope your proud of yourself. I just ordered one of these :) Thanks for the discount code.
😂 Wrecking homes since 2020! Was the final price around $153 USD? All the coupons and codes get pretty wonky…glad it worked…it’s limited time.
@@WatchWitt £143 in good old fashioned english pounds sterling (including taxes and delivery).
@@Subcomandante73Good to hear!
I give all the credit for this design to Longines. They did a wonderful job with it. PD did a great job making it a quality affordable and I think there will always be a place for watches like this. Those end links however are horrendous.
Absolutely. I missed the PD1717 too...non GMT version. Homage watches are great for those that want the look, but can't afford the high end piece. Or to have that look as a beater watch. Sometimes it's an introduction to the original, too. I never really had a desire for a Speedy, but after enjoying the PD-1701, the original is definitely on my wish list. Maybe I'll get one someday...???
Very nice review, I like your reaction on the lume 8:44 🤣😂 I'm also disappointed with that lume. It seems Pagani never improve the lume quality.😅 Actually this watch looks much better under your camera, I watched other review videos that it doesn't look as good as in your video. 😁👍👍
They need to take the STEELDIVE approach to lume! Thanks for the compliment…I think it’s the lighting, and I always try to show some closeups. In most cases my videos pretty closely match the appearance of the watch in-person. That’s my goal, at least!
@@WatchWitt yes Steeldive has very strong lume even their price is low. I also bought one Steeldive, the lume is amazing!
This definitely is one of their nicer looking watches. The overall finishing and details also seems to be a step up.
The dial is so crisp! I hope they’ll improve luminescence across the board someday…
That does look very nice. Good review.
It does! Still some areas for improvement, but this dial is spot on!
Nicely done PD ✔️ Great review Witt 👏
It really surprised me. Would love to see some improvements in the lume department, but this one's a looker! 👀
@@WatchWitt 👍🙌
Pagani Design has made some improvement over the years. Hopefully, they'll keep it up
Absolutely. This bracelet is nice, the bezel grip is one of the best I've encountered in a while (even if it isn't bi-directional), and the dial is flawless for a budget watch. They need to start by paying attention to the luminescence. If Steeldive can come in cheap with killer lume, Pagani should be able to as well!
Very interested to see them use the smoother highbeat 9075 GMT movement.
@yankeexpress That would be cool if it were an option to choose. Then you’d have a choice of traveler’s GMT or office GMT. I’m not sure if the movements are compatible case-wise though…just a fun comment.
A comparison with the new san martin would be a great video. Thanks for this review!!
Time For Another Watch just did it yesterday! Great comparison...watch here: th-cam.com/video/qLVQQL0g324/w-d-xo.htmlsi=zwvMrN0PNFMUmVOq
The end links dont fit the case. Looks like PD just used a bracelet they already had.
Yes, looks like they recycled the bracelet from the PD1717. Poor match of the end links to the case.
Yeah, I mentioned the brushing mis-match on the top side, and completely missed the fitment. It's very awkward looking! It's not just that they're too long for the case, but the angle is weird too. Shame...it's a nice bracelet!
That bezel is a dream 😮
One of the easiest to grip bezels I've experienced in a while! Just wish it was 24 or 48 click bi-directional...just for functionality. I usually don't track a 3rd time zone, though.
I like how PD sometimes spoils you with a free, good-quality NATO strap. Just wish they’d steal a leaf from Steeldive and go nuts on the lume.
They've GOT to get in the lume game!
Looks nice! Vaer destroyed it on lume. My Vaer C5 is awesome! I also have the Vaer G5 Meridian GMT. The GMT hand is a bit distracting....as always, great review Witt!
Right on! I think my worst lumed watch could destroy this one. It's really weak. Pagani needs to hire the STEELDIVE lume painter! 😂
That's a BEAUTIFUL watch
Well, they have Longines to thank for that, but they did a nice job on the dial!
As a newb collector, I have already purchased 4 Pagani's and I just ordered this brand new super crazy sexy PD YS014 PAGANI DESIGN .
That looks nice! I love the case...
@@WatchWitt The lum is crazy as well. You have a great channel Witt!
Thanks for the compliment!
Really should have a smoother highbeat 9075 movement. Looks good.
That changes it to a traveler’s GMT, though. Some people prefer an office GMT. I’d love to see them do both, so you choose the movement option! (Not sure about case compatibility…I’m just spoutin’ pie in the sky ideas!)
No unnecessary date is fantastic. Lume is the least important feature of most non dive watches so that's not an issue whatsoever. The only issues I have is that bracelet and the unidirectional bezel.
I figured a "no date preference" guy would chime in soon enough! The bracelet looks good and wears well. I have trained myself to unsee the poor fitting end links, but I realize some can't do that. I haven't even tried it on an aftermarket strap yet. The bezel DOES bug me, but I don't often track a 3rd time zone, so I can live with that too.
This is a fitting use of fauxtina😎👍🏾. Really nice design
Looks great with the gold colored surrounds, right?!
@@WatchWitt sure does. It looks intentional as opposed to forced like some watches.
@SpaceG95 The matched color logo helps tie it all together, too.
Looks great i have to say.
Would look amazing on a nice leather strap.
Clasp lets it down for sure.
They did a great job on this dial and crystal clarity. Man, this thing will take on ALL kinds of straps! If I do a full review soon I'll be sure to show it off on a variety of straps!
I have a PG 1765. VH31 -.1 spd. 37 dollars. Great beater. Love it.
I have the PD-1701 with VK63...0.0spd! Definitely a great beater as well...
@@WatchWitt I wish the movement had a regulator screw. I want the 0.0!
Quartz..........but -.1 spd is phenomenal. And quartz will still fluctuate. A lot of it is also on how we time it. There's no way we can accurately "push the button" precisely when timing, no matter the method.
I’m getting the moon watch pagani design this week
Solid watch!
I hope they well release the spirit variant with multiple dial colours. Not everyone likes GMT and sports bezel
They did! The PD-1717 is a non GMT with NH35 (but no date) in 38mm and four colors…
Yes found it
This appears to be a quality piece but GMT watches have bi-directional bezels with a maximum 60 clicks. And GMT watches should have at least a date window but preferably both a day and date window. San Martin and Zellos have a combination of these options in their offerings. I just wish that Seiko would do a travellers GMT movement the same as Miyota does.
The VanBanner GMT I show in the video has a 48 click bi-directional bezel. That's perfect...you can easily click twice for an hour, and once for a half hour.....for some of those funky countries with the half hour offset! I wonder if Seiko will do as you say? Not sure why Pagani omitted the date here...movement has it, so it must have been a choice.
I’m only buying paganidesign from now because it’s good replicas and good watch love your reviews because when I look at other people requests I get bored instantly but your vids are at least entertaining
They definitely offer some great looks and specs for the price point. Thanks so much for the compliment on my videos...I try not to babble too much, but it comes naturally to me when I'm excited or explaining something. You should see how time I cut OUT of the videos! 😂
I think they are improving.
Definitely. Great build on this one, with the exception of the bits I mentioned.
Im going to buy this tdy buy or not
Cool...enjoy!
I wanted to buy this watch, but the code isn't working
May have expired by now, sorry. It was a limited offer. But prices will typically go down a little over time, or with other upcoming sales.
wow , it actually looks really good....looks like it should cost a lot more....
Yes, they did a nice job! The crystal really makes this dial pop!
Can you get this in a jubilee?
Not that I know of. This bracelet is nice, if the end links don’t bug you…
Damn, that's sharp. Real sharp. Might get this now too. Haha 😅
The crystal improvement really made a difference. But this dial is CLEAN too...that helps!
@WatchWitt Yea its amazing. Maybe the nicest dial and bezel they've put together imo. Plus FINALLY they are just using the symbol and getting rid of the text. Good stuff..
@MrKevin486 I think a lot of people are diggin' the logo only dial! It's a decent logo, too.
@@MrKevin486they also have the pd1717 the non gmt version of this pretty much
@Unlucky1776 Ahh yea I looked that one up, also nice but it's the bezel that makes this one pop imo. Plus for me, at least, the GMT aspect is the main selling point.
When it comes down to under $100 I'll get one...
Has anything with an NH34 gone down that low yet? Definitely a steal at that price!
