Hadelich's attack and form may have evolved, but his meticulous musicality and phrasing is ingrained into the very soul/DNA of his music. This grounded, soulful sound is why I prefer his recordings over other accomplished soloists.
i love seeing augustins recordings from 10+ years ago, the improvement is astonishing! he was already SO GOOD, but it's like the man gets better and better as the days go by. my favorite 🙏🏼
I always enjoy his playing certainly influenced by past greats.. absolutely he keeps growing as an artist, as one can see by some of his piano accompaniments playing together..a big talent and seems like a very fine person as well. Eric Shumsky
As always (even back in 2006) - a mix of a perfect technique and a perfect musicality. Thank you so much for sharing. I assume you would be playing this differently today, so it would be a different "perfect" version 😀
I've been so wanting to watch the entire video ever since I watched it partially from your interview with Ray Chen. I'd love to listen to more of your recordings from the competitions, please keep posting!
Holy mackerel... I can recognize his playing from way back then! He has a distinctive 'voice'.. even without the Giuseppe Guarneri del Gesù he plays now. I heard him in Vail several times on a Stradivarius. I'm pretty sure he could make a ukelele sing.
OMG I just listened to Vengerov, Heifetz, Stern, Milstein and Ida Haendel before this one, and I can say that I just love the way you played this! This was great!
Yes! I saw part of this video in Ray Chen interview you did in the middle of the pandemic. This was in one of your early competition when you where around 22 or so!
I love the famous recordings of Jascha Heifetz performing Wieniawski but Augustin doesn´t stand behind him and, to my opinion, performs this even more nuanced. Thank you Augustin for sharing!
He is a very fine artist and he gets better all the time! That is a sign of players with real talent. Very enjoyable. It is a difficult work to play and to have the Polonaisse style. I was raised hearing my great father Oscar Shumsky play it so magnificently-I think my father would have very much enjoyed this brilliant and stylistically excellent performance. Eric Shumsky
What a fantastic way to conclude this dead cold winter day. It is really interesting to see how a virtuoso has evolved over the years, with an always intuitive yet more delicate interpretation, an always exquisite yet finer taste, and always flawless yet more impressive techniques, besides the same heartening passion for music. Could we have the privilege of enjoying a recent rendition of this piece, Augustin? I know this might be too much a request but hey, you've got fans :)
Augustin has " elan, panache and great elegance" in his interpretation of the Polonaise. Everything he touches becomes a miracle. For me, he is with Ehnes and Jansen among the 3 top players of the world actually. Some come and go because in the long run, they are deceptive and never reach maturity, like Oistrach or Kreisler. Augustin, you are a wonderful player and truly a great musician. Thank you.
In the meaning of "lightkeeper" and "messenger", Mr. Hadelich is a real teacher of all musicians and other people. To be humble doesn't mean to just serve. I'm saying this because of my own disunderstanding of your text in German language. Or perhaps the translator of TH-cam made an translating error (Ger-Fin)? 😊🎶
Interesting to see not only how good Hadelich’s playing was, but also to notice how much it’s improved! Lovely interpretation!
Indeed
More like evolution at this level- I see a great deal of consistency in Augustin then and now.

0:34 the harmonic and then a hard note....! First time I've seen it performed that way and I love it !
Brilliant Polonaise and also the piano is great!
I think that Rohan De Silva is the best accompanist in the world.
De Silva is outstanding

Absolutely incredible! Greatest young virtuoso, Augustin!
Oh, my. It sounds like a sparkling sea on a hot summer day. Thank you so much.
Wow young Augustin 🤩 🤩. Please upload more of your younger self if you have any!

Selbst ein Schuhkarton mit 4 Saiten würden toll klingen bei ihm :)
Sick!! I didn't remember this performance when I listened through all the 2006 Indianapolis recordings way back in 2008 or so. This is amazing!
Wonderful as always, thank you Master Hadelich! Love it.

Finally someone does the octave runs at the end right!!!

Thanks a lot for the recording! Gold medalist 2006 :-) :-) :-)

👏Bravo. Have already seen it in Ray Chen's video with you, but couldn't find the separate video. Thank you for posting it.

Augustin, don't apologise for the video quality. Your musical quality only counts, which is of the highest standard!

Brilliant. I hope to hear you live one day.
If you do you will be amazed. He will put you under a spell.
@@Ciaccona255 Agreed. I catch myself holding my breath so I can hear every nuance.

Sich als Diener der Musik zu verstehen und an zweiter Stelle der Musiker, ist Hadelichs größte Stärke.
