Don't bother with the first ladders, sketchy as fk and blocked up the top. Think it would have been the access for where you saw the BIG timbers. That is a big stoped out area with several working platforms and where all the water is coming in. You can get up there but a bit dodgy particularly when that wet. Nice explore though 👌
After a second glance… and looking at the plans, the nearest shaft is further down the valley. So this isn’t a haulage shaft, but what I’m certain of, is it’s an ore shoot allowing material from above to de lowered down into the carts below and onwards along the tracks to the actual haulage shaft. Thanks for the info, the plan was to head up the ladders on a later trip and secure a bolt at the top so it can be roped. Shame it’s blocked at the top. Cheers 😁👍🏼
@@cornishxplora we thought the same as you that the big timber area was a collapse but I'm more inclined to think that area was being used as a ore chute as the tracks run in there and it's a dead end just after the big timbers. If you look again at the big timbers the end ones haven't collapsed but are actually angled down like that for a purpose. You can get up either end of the big timbers but sketchy.
@@paul8365 yeh I looked like you could crawl through the other side but wasn’t risking it on this trip. I’d imagine all above the big timbers is all stoped out… Thinking of heading back soon for a second trip just to dot and cross any bits I missed. Decent explore though. Thanks for the info, means a lot 👍🏼
There are a lot of interesting holes in the area, just be careful you don't end up with a bike landing on you when your walking the tracks ;)
Haha I will keep an eye out for falling bikes 😂😂
