Brooks Caldera 6 Trail Running Shoe Review - Max Cushion and Max Confidence!

  • I admit that when I first received the Brooks Caldera 6, I didn't think it would be the trail running shoe for me, but after putting close to 50 miles in the shoes I can definitely say that my mind has been changed! If you've watched my reviews, you know that I'm a fan of high-cushion shoes, but some of the trail running shoes I was most excited to run in this year have delivered on cushion but left me feeling a little unstable. The Brooks Caldera 6 is the exception with a cushioned but responsive DNA LOFT v3 midsole that wraps up the side of the upper, cradling your foot for a stable ride. Pair that with an extra-wide outsole, and the Caldera 6 inspires confidence on pretty much all the terrain I've thrown at it. If you're looking for a confidence-inspiring, ultra-distance shoe, the Brooks Caldera 6 is at the top of my list of recommendations!
    But what about y'all? Have you tried the Caldera series? Do you have a recommendation for another max cushion ultra-distance shoe I should try? Let me know in the comments!

    It’s one of the most underrated trail shoes of 2022. Absolutely ❤ it. Can blast the trails, or any surface to be honest, every day withe these and my feet’s never get tiered.

    This old goat just plain simply loves Caldera 6, never had any luck with Speedgoat or other Hokas. By the way I love the album cover in the background my dad painted 55 years ago!

    Now considering different trail running shoes from Brooks. After viewing your great review, I think I would pick Caldera 6. Just wonder how to compare with others with ballistic rock shield?

    Hello, thank you for posting this video on Caldera 6. I have flat feet and looking for the perfect shoe to wear for Camino de Santiago. Would you recommend this shoe for that purpose? I intend to walk for 18 to 20 kms a day for 35-40 days. Thank you.

    Anyone got advice on whether Cascadia or Caldera would be best for someone moving to a trail shoe from Andrenalin GTS and prone to injury tendon / arch pain?

    Great review 😁 Im thinking about buying, do you think can I use this shoes in mixed conditions, like, street, forest, rain? I mix the environment in my training, but the competition it's 80% trail...., Thanks 👍

      Hey Jorge, thanks for the question! Here's what Alan says about using the Caldera on multiple terrains: "You can definitely use the the Caldera in mixed terrain! I've used it to run on the road before I get to my local trail a bit because it's so cushy and the lugs aren't so aggressive that it feels like it really smooth transition. I've used it to run on trail a lot and definitely in some rainy conditions up here in the North West. I might be a little more cautious if you're using the Caldera for multiple exclusive or longer stretches of road running on a weekly basis, and would suggest road specific shoes. Rotating footwear also helps in preventing injury and increasing strength and reaction in your foot!"

    Caldera vs NB More v2 Trail? Love the NB Chonks. Caldera still a lil tight in the toebox.

      Great question, Eric! Here's what Alan thinks: "The NB More v2 are rad! I haven't spent as much time in them as the Caldera's but can definitely see the difference in toe box a bit. I'm really loving the DNA Loft midsole and the Trail Tac outsole on the Calderas, but the lugs aren't as aggressive as on the Vibram outsole of the NB More v2. Offset difference is pretty minimal with 6mm in the Caldera and 4mm in the More v2. I think if the shoe fits... so I'd encourage you to try some Caldera's at your local Co-Op and see what your feet think!"

    wish they made the Caldera in a wide!!!!!

    • @BufanMuayThai
      @BufanMuayThai ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Hey. They are quite wide. I run a 2E in other models but the Caldera 6 fits like a glove as “normal” wide.

      @@BufanMuayThai really? I always buy a wide. I wear a wide in the Ghost, Cascadia, and Glycerine. Maybe I’ll give it a shot! I pretty much exclusively run in Brooks. I’ve tried leaving and always come back. Something about Brooks plays nice with my feet.

      @@Barry-Sweaty My own Brooks experience is with Transcend 5 and 7 Before I moved to the Glycerin. This is my first trail Brooks. I tried Asics and Nike, but always go back to Brooks.
