Cool to see you reflect on the last two years and pivot according to what works. I think video / youtube is easier compared to SEO / blogging nowadays. Good luck and best wishes for 2023!
Good that you're on the right track Jasper! Health is always a top priority. Those updates really put a lot of pressure those who work with SEO. I totally get your decision and it might be a good move. It's going to be interesting to see what your next plans will be. Personally (we talked a bit about this in person), I will still continue with my sites, but I try to become less dependent on Google and SEO. So I'm building a community and email list to support my sites. Maybe soon I'll also focus more on video materials on YT or other platforms. Good luck next year! Happy new year.
Happy new year, Jasper. And a good choice of looking at other things, like TH-cam. There are so many interesting ways out there to make some money. And you don't need to make 6 figures a year to live a good life, right? I've been following your journey so far and from what I could notice, you always set goals that are way too high. And there's nothing wrong if you don't achieve them at times, but if you don't do that every single time, then what's the point of setting goals. I'm looking forward to seeing where you're going with this.
I agree with your assessment regarding blogging. It is so much harder than it used to be. It takes twice as much work to get half the traffic. Copy cats, Google updates, Google shopping, AI, etc. I am at 500k page views a year and I'm going to maintain and not invest more time to make content.
It's definitely still doable. And there's success to be had here. But there's no doubt it's more difficult and random than it used to be. Great job, though, getting to 500k pageviews a year!
Good update video, glad to hear you are doing better. I wanted to say that even though you feel like blogging is not for you, you didn't fail at blogging. Your websites are still making what, +1k per month? If you translate that into working hours at 10 dollars per hour, that's more than 100 hours of "free time" per month, even more. That free time allows you to try other things as you mentioned. Can't wait to see what you come up with next year :D good luck!
That's 100% true. I'm fortunate that I still make quite a good sum of money every month. It's definitely not a 'failed project', but just one I don't see much more growth in. Thanks for the nice words :)
Hey Jasper, I have been following your progress. And I must say that I am impressed by your English skills. Your videos are good, but you keep repeating yourself. You need to stick to the point and create short videos. Possibly somewhere between 3 to 5 minutes. You have potential on TH-cam, I can see you having a lot of subscribers. I know that you were not as you wanted to be blogging wise, but I think you should not quite. You have learned so much and you need to go back to the drawing board and apply what you have learned. I wish you the best. I will keep following you so keep us updated :)
Thanks Farris! I'm not quiting entirely, but I'm going to try new things. In the background, I'll keep running some sites, see if they will recover or not. Every now and again, there will be an update on the sites as well :) I'm also studying a lot on how to do better on TH-cam, and being more to-the-point is the #1 thing I'm working on improving.
Did you say you had the goal of 450 articles? In a year? If that was the case it was ambitious but almost two articles a day. Regardless, i hope you can find your stride in something you like even if its not blogging.
DON’T QUIT by John Greenleaf Whittier When things go wrong, as they sometimes will, When the road you’re trudging seems all up hill, When funds are low and the debts are high, And you want to smile, but you have to sigh, When care is pressing you down a bit, Rest if you must - but don’t you quit. Life is queer with its twists and turns, As every one of us sometimes learns, And many a failure turns about, When he might have won had he stuck it out; Don’t give up, though the pace seems slow - You may succeed with another blow. Often the goal is nearer than It seems to a faint and faltering man, Often the struggler has given up When he might have captured the victor’s cup, And he learned too late, when the night slipped down, How close he was to the golden crown. Success is failure turned inside out - The silver tint of the clouds of doubt, And you never can tell how close you are - It may be near when it seems so far; So stick to the fight when you’re hardest hit - It’s when things seem worst, that you must not quit. Glad to hear you are keeping your websites. Perhaps give yourself a short break and let things settle, but don't quit! Keep up the good work Jasper and best wishes for 2023.

Happy New Year, Jasper. What a rollercoaster 2022 was. Glad you're up to more exciting ventures.
It most certainly was. Thanks for watching and a Happy New Year :)
Great update Jasper!! Good to hear you are feeling better and have solid plans going into next year 😎
Thanks! Looking forward to next year!

Thanks Markus. And I think it's a good choice to widen your audience and try to reach them through other platforms.

I'm just here to comment on the kick ass tree and what looks to be like someone/something rock climbing on the wall back there.
Thanks Darin! There are 3 someone's in the background climbing the wall haha :)
TH-cam is ook niet te vertrouwen. Je kunt zo maar in eens zonder goede reden demonize worden. Ik denk dat je meer controle hebt over een website.

Yep, 450 articles. But I had a team of writers when I made that goal, so it was a lot more doable.
I hope so too. Looking forward to it.
I think you should make your videos more concise if you want them to be more interesting
Biaheza is good at being concise
That's what I'm shooting for. Been studying some of his videos lately.
