In April 2021, my friend Owen and I spent 144 hours in Umgede Underground Hide at Antares Bush Camp in the Greater Kruger National Park. Our goal was to see and photograph a breeding herd of elephants during the day, as well as to capture a unique photograph of elephants drinking under the Milky Way.
Umgede Hide is a relatively new and extremely comfortable underground hide located right next to Antares Bush Camp and is an excellent place for wildlife photography in South Africa. The camp sleeps 8 guests and Umgede Hide comfortably seats four photographers.

I use Photo pills for my Milky Way shots using a 20mm f1.8 S lens on the Z7 all taken on various Karoo Farms in my Back Yard of E Cape. I shoot at f 2, ISO 3200 and 20 secs

is there no limitation of "hide-hours" when staying at the camp?
Nope! The hide is yours to use for as long or shot as you want during your stay and it’s walking distance from the lodge 🤩
