  • We built a custom truck camper on a Ford 6.3L Diesel F350. Much time, love, and tears have gone into it both building it, improving it and repairs. After living it it several months at a time over 3 years, we have been stuck in it for over 6 months.
    Stuck in one place to see our dream and final home / shop build get underway. Most projects we do 100% on our own but for this size, we are self general contractors and have contracted out both the concrete work and the framing.
    This video is an overview and walk through tour of the dried in building which we just left before Christmas 2023. We will return in early spring to start up heatpump install, hydronic setup, plumbing, electrical, roofing, siding, metal, wood work and on and on.

    Outstanding! I did things a bit differently. I designed and built my house myself in the 80's. I like to say it is a balanced homestead, 3,000 SF of house AND 3,000 SF shop. Now I'm building my small camper. Please keep updating us.

    This is so awesome! There is nothing you two can’t do. I love the entire layout. What a great dream/retirement home. 😊

      We can’t seem to get back on the road is one thing we haven’t accomplished much over the last 12 months! Hope we see you again at TCA rally.

    Can't wait to swing by once the welding shop is set up.

      I’d not wait that long ;). We did get one welder onsite already and will bring another one back with us in the spring and there’ll be so much “fun” stuff to work on this spring and summer.

      (S) Cheryl is confused. 2 MIG welders and an oxyacetylene torch are already there...because of the need to get railings done on the deck or inside the residence, welding operations will be set up sometime in April or May at the latest...

    Well done. Looks amazing - the view will be great. Might be a little large, you will need lots of visitors.

      We have lots of room to spread out and I blame the shop😮

    • @WorkingOnExploring
      @WorkingOnExploring  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Girl logic...the pool is really to blame....the pool is a linear object that loses value faster than it loses length...the shop is about square footage (length and width) so can be a multitude of shapes at the same area (and value). The pool is what set the minimum depth of the house...we started with a 60ft long pool in a 70ft deep house and only shrunk it 6ft because it's perceived value dropped rapidly...lol.

    Very interesting video! Wow, you two deserve a medal for even thinking about doing this project. For doing it, you deserve a basket full! Love the view of the “creek”. Looking forward to seeing a video of it finished. BTW, the video mentions the rocks under the soil and text reads Arco, Idaho. Been through there many times going from CA to Dillon, Montana to visit my cousin or on the reverse trip. Happy New Year!

      Thank you! We travel that same route to Red Lodge Montana. Not much for boondocking between us and Arco, so it was nice to discover that trailhead. Besides the trailhead parking where we stayed overnight, there’s a big dirt driving loop with pull offs too. If you ever need a Southern Idaho parking spot, drop us a message.

    Great job! Yes, I watch RVing to Alaska channel formerly Pal Hanna travels (sp?), they did the same thing. Loved watching the build and the a finished walk thru. Still want to see travel and how to vids, but I know life gets in the way sometimes.
