- Acting is often misconceptualized as being dramatic and overdoing or exaggeration of emotions whereas it is most believable in utter real state. To act is to actually feel the emotion and be real with it. Not be loud and show what your body is not actually feeling.
She played this scene with realism and conviction.
That the first and foremost thing that is taught at The Indian School Of Acting. To be real with acting.
The Founder of The Indian School of Acting, Sagar Kohli, who himself is young but one of the best actors the country, understood the complexities with the field of acting and problems faced by students in the initial days of training and even on the journey.
Sagar Kohli provided acting classes to the students of ISA, and soon it was known that The Indian School of Acting is the best acting classes to train yourself in theatre or camera acting.
As popularised by his students, Sagar Kohli is known the best actors in India right now for his age.
Being the Founder for such a prestigious organisation, Sagar Kohli has discovered a form of acting based on Naturalism, which is called "Realism" and is taught to the students of The Indian School of Acting. Making them the most natural actors out there.
The Indian School of Acting with top faculties from National School of Drama and FTII focuses on a combination of Camera Acting and theatre to make any student a complete package.
If somebody wants to be the best actor of India or wants to know how to get work in Bollywood, then he should join The Indian School of Acting.
If you see one thing common to all our students, that would be an attempt, to look extremely natural on Screen or whenever they are performing.
The best acting school in Delhi - The Indian School of Acting is known for the honest and transparent training that it provides but things like the brutal training, individual attention and Improvement oriented cannot be ignored.
If you also want to perform like this, you should totally learn from The Indian School of Acting.
The Indian School of Acting is the best acting school of Delhi NCR and all India with students coming in from all over the world.
We need your support and love to give The Indian School of Acting the brand value it deserves on TH-cam and social media to make it the best acting school in the world.

depending on the character, one of them could be more emotional and the other could be less emotional
(lots of people are saying it’s not about being less or more emotional and you correct i just worded it wrong. Basically, people show emotion differently and so while one would be more expressive with their emotions another could be less expressive with the SAME emotions)
Yup.
Exactly
mhm
Also if you are on stage you need to be more animated
the 2nd one is wayy too much
Its actually two types of acting, it depends on where are you presenting. The left side focused on micro expressions that are perfect for television or a digital media because we have the hability to stay pretty close to the character and so we can notice minimal changes, while the right one is focused on a more theatrical expression, in a theater we cant reallly see the faces of the actors most of the time because its pretty far away, so this results in the actors expressing the emotions through their bodies so the audience can understand whats happening and what are the characters feeling. Both are beautiful ways of acting and both deserve recognition ❤❤
THISSS they taught me in school that. Is not high knowledge
@@space_in_space firstly the explanation is good secondly it’s for all the people in the comments who CLEARY don’t understand😊
Such a good explanation thanks
Yes, it's depending on people's emotions so they act to it
Omg yes I didn’t know how to word what I wanted to say but you explained it PERFECTLYY ❤

YESSS THIS
I was thinking the same thing
Found my ppl 🎭
They can both be used for acting actually, although more expressive emotions are used for theatrical experiences
I totally agree with that❤
Yeah, in a live theater, it's difficult for people in the far back to see subtle changes in someone's face and mannerisms, so they need to be a lot more expressive with their body language and their tone of voice. In movies and TV, it's a lot easier to see subtle changes in someone's face (even if you're in the back of a large movie theater), so it's a lot more subtle. I think it's important for people to distinguish which type of acting they are doing.
One is invested in the person they're talking to, the other is distancing themselves.
That’s what I was about to say, when we do theatre compared to acting we move around a lot more do to people be father away from stage, while in acting your watching on a screen so movement is less needed but never excluded from a scene
When I act for musicals or plays I like to think about being in the scene as if it were real
It’s really how you say the line with body language. Also, the one on the right is literally just my dad because the amount of talking with his hands he does is actually insane.
nahh both are acting, but usually the tiktoks made it like that so you can tell the context in only 30-40 secs, i actually study theatre and we are used to over-act when we dont have time (sorry for the shitty english, spanish is actually my first language so i try my best!)

But the one in the right doesnt look very natural due to too much gestures. When you act, you want it to be believeable and as natural as possible. I agree with this and one’s stage acting. You have to over exaggerate everything when stage acting, that way the whole theater can see it. But yes- I like to think the one on the left is more calm and introverted.
Yeah like I talk with my hands, so I would be the one on the right
every time i act i just act like how the character would act at my place and if listen to people i'm gud
The thing is you have POV acting that is most of the time very emotional. But then I panic because they respond the same why I would’ve
Tiktok acting reminds me of my time in the theater. In the theater, actors often have to use crazy expressions because of the number of people in the audience. It’s not that they're not capable of doing subtle acting, it’s that they have to allow people, whether in the way back or way front, to see how they feel. That’s obviously not the only reason it happens, but it’s one of the reasons.
Exactly what I was thinking. The other side is definitely still acting, just differnt type for a different circumstance.
Yeah stage vs screen acting is different.
I was thinking the right side looked like theater acting
I’ve only acted in plays and musicals, so I def agree we usually use more expression and such
It’s def different from acting on camera for a tv show/movie
I thought about this a lot. There's this series of stage plays from Japan I've been watching. First time I saw it felt weird cuz of how exaggerated their movements and expressions are. The same storyline then had a movie with the same actors and the way they portray the same characters they've always played are significantly different. Much more subtle. It was fascinating and showed me that these guys are highly skilled.
Both are forms of acting. One looks like acting that would be used in tv shows and movies. Two looks like acting that would be used in plays and live performances. Live performances on stages require big, exaggerated movements while on screen performances are usually closer, so the performance usually relies on facial movements ❤
This. Right is just theatre acting, where you're performing for the back of the room so you need to make everything bigger because people may not be able to clearly see your face and small body movements.
Also in animation references
A bad play then
@@dcwatcher4644 You probably aren’t even a theater kid, so shut up
Why do we have a narrow view of what film acting looks like? They both could totally be in different films. The left - actors in a Bresson film. The right- actors in a Zulawski film

both are acting :) depends on the character and the type of performance you’re in! like how acting for musicals/broadway plays tends to be a lot more animated than acting for a movie or show! or of course depends on the character you’re playing and how animated or dialed down they need to be. both are valid forms of acting
True, they come off more as different personalities. One is just tired and disgusted, and two, is more in disbelief and more dramatic.
Yes , however the second one also really isn’t what we do in musical theatre . Yes musical theatre is way more big , but lots of people mistake musical theatre. Although it’s bigger it still has to be acted out well and yes you could say it’s not for me to judge but you can see even the person that made the video agrees it’s not good.
I said the same thing about character … if you get a serious/uptight character it might be the first if your playing a dramatic/over the top character it’s gone be the right lol.
Uhm yeah, but one is real acting at theater, the other is just exagerated to be on a TikTok o a random video...
Exactly
The goal of television acting specifically is to make it look more natural and realistic! But sometimes for acting in theatre you have to be more passionate and bold to get the message out to the audience but the first one definitely looks more real!
Left: actually feeling emotions/pain
Right: mad
I think it really depends what scenario the character is in and their emotions and personal things.. the first one is a more sad heartbroken almost 'dead inside' version and the second one is more passionate and angry, trying to really make a point.
I think that the first one is more realistic kind of acting like the way people would actually react but the second one is adding more pain and emotion to keep people interested
Edit: omg 160 likes tyy!! never had this much!
It depends on the character and context and type of acting. TV and Movie acting is way different than stage acting and the difference is in the performance.
The point of this clip is to Show that the secret to Acting is actualy to Not “Act” after all! The more Natural you Are, the better
I think it really depends. In real life when I’m angry I’m less dramatic but almost as expressive as the second one.
Definitely gives me musical theatre vibes

Definition of TV acting vs theatre acting
It was actually the opposite for me lol. I thought people would just sit there lifeless with the only emotion being in their voice, but after seeing some behind the scenes, I realised that they actually use a lot of physical expression as well. I guess it helps in portraying the emotion

For theatre acting that isn't always true because you want to be people even at the back of the room to see exactly what your character is doing and feeling, which means bigger exaggerated movements.

neither are “incorrect” but there are many different styles of acting for different types of performances. for instance i am primarily a stage actor and don’t do much film acting but i know for stage acting at least you need to over emphasize EVERYTHING to get the over all point across to the live audience. especially with the distance of audience it’s hard for them to see subtle facial changes like what would be done in film acting. i love seeing videos like this that show the differences between different acting styles.
Real looks raw and emotional, second looks forced and fake

@@snegluf yeah but that's the thing with theater, the version on the left wouldn't be visible past the first few rows of audience. it's also ok to divert from reality a bit in a live performance setting, it's overall a more free form and fantastical concept. that's why stage actors can often get away with playing several roles or characters far out of their age range. it's meant to be more imaginative and less realistic

That's two types of acting actually, people would usually prefer the one with more face expression like in the "What acting actually is" since they feel the emotion that is portrayed more but the "What people think acting is" is used in theaters so people can see it from the back too, theatre acting is more usual on TikTok/TH-cam POV's

Only absolutely phenomenal actors can really feel the emotion that their character is playing and then make you feel like the show that you’re watching is real and it’s absolutely amazing

Also, it depends on the character’s personality, if they seem more out going and are more bold, they might say this like the right side, to where if the character keeps to themselves more or doesn’t express emotions as clearly, they might say this like the left side :3
Also when your on stage you have to emphasize your movements to be seen (like the right) compared to movie or tv acting where the camera is right up in your face
(Sorry this is super long) I do think that there is such a thing as “overacting” because when you over emphasize it, I can become annoying and repetitive.
Both of them are true forms of acting actually. They are just used differently depending on where are they presenting. The one with minimal expressions is used for digital or in television, while the other with much expressive emotions is often used in theatrical plays.

Honestly it depends on the emotion ex: numb or angry. It also depends if it’s theatrical or cinematic
It’s not numb at all. If you pay attention to how people behave when their angry very few people flail their hands around a scream, and it’s a less interesting choice to make as an actor when expressing anger. Watch the dinner scene from A Streetcar Named Desire. Marlon Brando’s character is extremely angry but he speaks softly and his movements are subtle.
