Plymouth Grand Fury police car was one of my favourites as a kid as I loved watching those 70s/80s American car chase movies and you just didn't see cars like that in real life in the UK.
2:23 I remember having that "Swing Wing" jet when I was a kid, but at the time I didn't know what it was. Later on as I got older I became a fan of the F-14 Tomcat. Seeing it now after all this time I realise I had a Tomcat back then!
@@PaulRestorer Btw I thought of you the other day when I found a new Matchbox Release it’s an AutoZam AZ-1. I was pretty excited to see it along with new release of the Hot Wheels Fiat 131 which from what I’ve seen looks pretty close to the model produced in Poland? I really want to do a diorama with a polonaise because I’m Polish and was born in the states so I’ve never seen one in person. 😞
Baw się dobrze, mój przyjacielu. Ale widać różnice w stosunku do broszur z lat 70-tych. Dziękuję za podzielenie się i pozdrowienia z Cuxhaven. Paul 😁👍🏼 A very nice timetravel again, mate. But you can see the differences to the brochures of the 70s. Thanks for sharing and greetings from Cuxhaven. Paul 😁👍🏼 Wiedermal eine schöne Zeitreise mein Freund. Aber man sieht doch die Unterschiede zu den Prospekten der 70er Jahre. Vielen Dank für's teilen und Grüße aus Cuxhaven. Paul 😁👍🏼
Wow.. I must have had about 20 of them. Lots in different colors tho. This video brought back great warm feelings. My parents made sure I had enough toys to go around even tho they didnt have a lot of money.
I have almost all of the Models of Yesteryear shown here. I bought them when I was a child, and never realised that I had bought such a high proportion of them.
Every half crown - 2/6 or twelve and a half pence I would get on a friday teatime (pocketmoney) - from my old Dad -I have fond memeries of him getting out of the Landrover - He'd be black bright - His hands, his face -Ihis boiler suit & on a friday night all that would be offset by a bright yellow Melon he would be carrying - once I got my pocket would run down to the local News agents/ Toyshop i would either get a dicast car match box • Corgi rocket • Corgi junior -Series 1 Airfix kit - Packet 1/72 Airfix soldiers - Latest models would go into the shop windows - oor look for adverts put in childrens comics - Lookin was good ! God I still dream now about that shop that the Dewhirst brothers ran back then !
It's like a book. In spite of other countries, I empathized with your role and saw you in the open imagination. Therefore, thank you very much for this amazing comment
HOLA !!! GRACIAS POR ACEPTAR MI SOLICITUD... QUIERO MENCIONAR QUE SOY DE LOS POCOS QUE TIENEN AUTOS MATCHBOX DE LA DÉCADA DE LOS 70´s !!! Y ESTOY FELIZ DE TENER AUTOS DE ESA GRAN EMPRESA !!! EN ESOS AÑOS INGLESA. Y LAMENTO MUCHO QUE NO HAYA CONTINUADO EN LAS SIGUIENTES DÉCADAS HACIENDO FELICES A CHICOS Y GRANDES !!! I LOVE MATCHBOX.
A walk down memory lane...I had several of these but don’t even remember many others. Glad that I have a few of the ones I had as a kid...even at my age. I still buy them...but many lack their appeal! What’s happened? 🧐
this the one I had as a kid I recently got it again but it came from the Netherlands! the 2 things I need in here is the caboose page 17 & the dump car on page 16 I DO want the Texaco gas station too!
I’m a bit confused with this catalogue , in 81 I was 17. I didn’t buy or play with toy cars as I working & had my out car, but I had a good few of the cars & trucks in the catalogue which i had for years. Does anyone else think matchbox lost its way with most of the cars in this catalogue? The cars weren’t realistic, a bit futuristic.
Scotia Jinker 🇺🇸 I agree with you. They had some nice ones in the 70-80s...then I quit buying them for a while due to lack of interest on my part. I continued to look but just didn’t like much. I still buy them for myself and my boys when they have cool stuff. They seem to change their direction every few years. I’m glad to have some of the ones I grew up with. 🥰
the play tracks i have those well i had the later 90's one but wow well i say i still have might of thrown them out or broken them ages ago but woe good luck trying to find that stuff now! DUDE I HAVE THAT SET 4:36 though its the one they bought out later in yellow and white with the chevy stock car on the front, it just shows how they were competing with hotwheels back in the day as these were more basic but hotwheels were just cooler though now sadly its samey same or slightly differant, huh popeye in matchbox, guess ERTL gave up the rights mind you they went after corgi as corgi got the rights to the james bond and warner brothers/hanana bararea stuff, wow i have not seen any of those! guess disney came down hard on them? but wow i thought or if i see these now i'm going to be checking the bases as i thought it aws tomica or ERTL that made these, oh man super kings the matchbox toys that were over sized! i sadly don't collect these as i don't have room i have a few, oh the super kings london bus/the londoner i have a few of those, and the bank! sadly munis the gold and guy but it still locks, no that is not my one it has the organe roof also the hover craft i have but in blue, I HAVE TWO OF THOSE! the t-bucket hot rod sadly missing the roof, and the green dragster minus the car and trailer i thought that was one model?! oh the police jag car i had one of those not sure though what the decals were but it had the spinning syron on the top, O.O I HAVE THAT CARAVAN! sadly missing the car and the tow part but for 50p/£1 i brought it as how often do you see that, i think i have the classic lotas black f1 car and another not sure not those two i can safely say, ooh models of yester year i'm tempted to get these but ugh condition there either beaten up or the ppl want silly money for them out of the box 5 pounds each far too much also were's marty matchbox make over? he'd love to see those models, awww it was just getting good, still 5p for a lil booket i'd love to have these re-printed or just very pixaled so i could mark down which models i have and don't have
I am now 46.....in my loft I still have the Bridge Transporter truck set.....all complete in the inner packaging....sadly no outer box, but it's in really good condition !!!!
This brings back memories of when I used to collect Matchbox Cars and Catalogs...
Thank you very much
Those double tracks with loops were hours of fun. The Alfa Carabo was my fastest car.
Cool. Best wishes
That was amazing, brought back so many memories of stuff I forgot I once had. Awesome, thanks for uploading it.

Great video, thanks. The offerings there are proof that the golden and even silver and bronze days of Matchbox cars were well and truly over in 1981.
Thank you very much
