Today I am presenting a very extensive catalog presenting the production of Matchbox models. The publication contains 64 pages. This year, in addition to standard models, the company decided to expand its truck department by introducing the Convoy series. Fairy tale cars also appeared. Niestety, wielu katalogów Matchboxa nie posiadam, bo za tzw. komuny były raczej trudne do zdobycia (czasami były w Pewexie albo na bazarach). Najstarszy, jaki mam, to 1969 rok i trochę ,,używany". A później nastała era internetu i tam jest prawie wszystko jest. No, prawie.... Pozdrawiam.

Any idea if the motorcycles are 1/43rd scale as well? K-95 and K-84 are awesome, great wheels from factory.

Yep, the bikes look better than most of the other stuff.

@@2H80vids I suspect that is due to the size, i don't think they are in scale to the K car series, it is probably in 1/24 or 1/18 scale. Pretty much like the Hot wheels 1/64 series bikes are a perfect match for 1/43rd scale as they are 1/43 to 1/39.

@@projectman-thor229 I sometimes wonder if Jack O'Dell and the guys at Lesney quite grasped the concept of scale. Models were made to fit the standard sizes of box, rather than to any particular scale, hence buses, bin lorries and Jaguars, all the same length. The King-Size commercial vehicles 𝑗𝑢𝑠𝑡 𝑎𝑏𝑜𝑢𝑡 match up with the 1:64 cars but you couldn't rely on it.
The bikes? Well, they seem to be a law unto themselves. 😁
Unfortunately, by the time this catalogue was released, the quality of most of their models had fallen so dramatically that, I would think, 𝑠𝑐𝑎𝑙𝑒 was the least of their worries. As long as they were brightly coloured, half-plastic and went as fast as possible on a track, they were good enough.😢

@@2H80vids For some of it, for example i got that K-39 Fire engine, and it is fairly to scale when compared to the K-24 Miura i just restored. But that fact also contributed to the birth of many auto model companies that do care about scale and do it quite well. They should however make them with less plastic.

Start of the end for Matchbox for me they were terrible they looked nothing like the earlier models they looked more like some of the no names made in China.
