OMG! Thank you!!!! The "girl" represents all struggles one can have: violence, loneliness, addictions, suicidal thoughts, depression, poverty...etc. They want to leave the "girl" but it is not that easy...so bad that they "need the girl". Thank youuuu!!!

Oh I thought girl was meant to be friend because apparently RM wanted it to be “i need you, friend” but girl sounded better so i think it talks about their friendship and the hardship rather than a love relationship.

My rabbit hole started from this song trying to decode their MVs & songs. My journey thru the BU was an emotional roller coaster. And still makes me cry.

the irony of the phrase "the most beautiful moment in life" in the intro yet the mv show loneliness, addiction, suicidal thoughts, being lost, depression and despair etc.

when I was a baby ARMY; and getting in to the music; the ONLY stuff up to this point I had watched were DNA, BS&T, Fake Love. I had ZERO clue about the BU and I stumbled upon this video and was stunned. Gobsmacked, shooketh whatever you want to call it. I had no clue this was one of their songs, or the story behind it. I had to stop watching and find someone to help me piece together what the hell I was watching LOL. Well I did and discovered the BU which was a totally new concept for me. The seriousness behind each story was heartbreaking and beautiful. I hope at some point y'all do take the time to delve in to it. it can make for some fascinating interpretations and discussions. Also, to the haters that rag on you guys about whatever things you might not "get" bc they are perfect and how dare you provide your opinion on something (ha ha), screw them. this is your channel and keep being yourselves. ❤😃

I just know that while you are taking this journey thru the storyline you are gonna cry as i know i did, its so sad yet the way they tell the story thru the MVs and lyrics is just so beautiful.
Also in this version of this song ehich is a bit longer (as you see the member stab the guy with the glass bottle and you see the blood all over his hands it really shows of different mental abuse and its really dark especially as it shows how each member is feeling in the way they portray their characters in the mv (Also you can get the idea of the storyline by reading the comic/ webtoon called ‘save me’. Also ive been an army since 2014 and im still confused till this day and will stay confused lol

In addition to the storyline BU aspect of the MV, each of the boys also represent something that teens may suffer with, Drug addition, depression, suicidal thoughts, homelessness, poverty, and abuse. To me, it's kind of like they're acknowledging that people go through these things and have to deal with them in their lives. They don't really give an answer to those issues, but sometimes just being acknowledged, knowing that someone knows what's going on and cares, can make a huge difference in someone's life.

I'm sure chat told you a lot, but you DEFINITELY need to pay more attention to the visuals of the storyline than the lyrics, but don't completely discount the lyrics either!! Honestly, you guys catch a lot quickly, so you'll enjoy this. It's truly some of the BEST visual storytelling I've ever seen, and I'm 61. The acting is amazing, and the Epilogue and Highlight Reels are absolute masterpieces. It IS a deep dive, though, so be prepared for that....Of course, you can enjoy the songs/visuals without going into the storyline -- if you've already seen some of the related vids, I hope you'll revisit them with the storyline in mind.

someone in the live chat already said it, but yeah, the song originally had 'friend' instead of 'girl' but 'girl' sounded better. at the same time i think bts' mvs and music in general usually isn't about just one thing, it usually has two or more interpretations, so you can still interpret it as being about a romantic relationship if you relate to it, but at the same time the message is more universal towards different kinds of relationship and even stages in life in general (which is shown in the HYYH/BU Notes, where it can be a mental disease, a toxic family, bullying, depression, abandonment, etc etc). what it shows is how with the right people, with the people who make you feel safe, you feel happy in those little moments, even though there are issues that make you hurt inside, those little moments are precious, like rays of light. at the same time, as we see in INU too, it doesn't erase those issues, they still become a part of our youth. those most beautiful moments in life are precious but at the same time we need to recognize the issues that young people face that usually get swept under the rug. to me HYYH series is mostly about portraying our 'most beautiful and fun' age in more realistic way, showing the reality that doesn't erase the happy moments, but make them all the more significant.

As a older women, the fight goes on and on, you try your best but somehow you need something someone, love whether it is a girl, boy, job, family acceptance, love the fight never stops, loneliness and acceptance is always a need, everyone hears a different story listening to this song regardless of how old you are.

Bravo. I'm sure watching it live stream helped but it was the best reaction and sense of understanding the story of this video that i have seen from any reactor.

It’s the more light hearted BTS version of Trainspotting. It’s dark and real issues that you don’t see in kpop with poverty, child abuse, drug overdose, suicide, bullying, anger, loneliness but all centered about friendship and being stronger together. It’s an ambitious story that is told non linear way. Can’t wait for it to resolve finally.

If you really want to experience the awesomeness of the BU skip the explained videos. Don't let someone else's interpretation cloud your thought process. Watch all the videos in order of release, read the webtoon, read The Notes part 1 and 2. If you have the patience play the mobile game.
I don't know who the creative mind behind the BU story line is but they are f-ing brilliant. Supposedly there was supposed to be a TV drama, but up until casting like a year ago I haven't heard anything else. Which is a shame because I was really looking forward to it.

Love your reactions and sense of humor. And I think you guys are smart enough to know that feedback will always be a mixed back of good and bad. Every time you mention getting roasted or people piling on you in your reaction, I go looking for those unkind comments. To be honest, I do not find many of those and majority of the comments are explanations and encouragement. Wondering why you keep making those remarks?
