i havent stopped listening to him..not just daily ... but constantly....all his songs have been added to my playiist and I keep watching reactions...still, even weeks after seeing the 1st reaction, they are like crack. I enjpy watching the awe on peoples faces. He has a wide variety of songs, not just one style. If youve only done 2...thats barely anything....his talent is extreme. And his character is A+. He watches the Reactioners and comments subscribes to you all, if not yet, I am sure soon. He has some more rap, all different styles and flows

Hey little bro's, here's 4 different types of rap styles by Ren. I put a small description of what you can expect. Just so you know Ren gets crazy versatile because he's a Rapper, Singer/Songwriter, Multi-instrumentalist Guitar/Bass/Piano/Drums/Beatboxer, Producer/Poet/Actor. You've got so many sides to Ren it's 🤯🤯
    1) "The Hunger" Ren shows off his Rapping Skills in Beast Mode.
    th-cam.com/video/1T_fLytBFM4/w-d-xo.html 🔥
    2) "Losing It" Ren's remake of a 90's EDM club mix by DJ Fisher
    th-cam.com/video/mLvAGjhDssc/w-d-xo.html 🔥
    3) "The Money Game part 2" commentary on corporate greed and gov corruption
    th-cam.com/video/YonS9_QJbp8/w-d-xo.html 🔥
    4) "What You Want" Ren's tribute to late 80's early 90's rap that has a Beastie Boys vibe.
    th-cam.com/video/jrjp4Du0rEc/w-d-xo.html 🔥
Later You can listen to Ren with his band The Big Push. They've got Original music as well as covers.✌

Bangor is in Wales where he was born, but Ren now lives in Brighton, which is in the south of England on the coast. Very chill, diverse and artsy town, kinda the UK's San Francisco. Most of the videos he's made are filmed there. This one was filmed in an abandoned underground warehouse that's become a homeless squat. The people who hang there have a regular fight club , where they get high and just lay into each other without holding back. Ren and Sam (the film director) wanted to include one of those fights in the film, it's not him under the mask 😅

  • @bpiraeus-p3b
    @bpiraeus-p3b ปีที่แล้ว +21

And just you wait, Animal Flow dropped 3 days ago and it's absolutey MAD
EDIT - Hah, wait until you two learn he does all his own beats and production (with the exception of the obvious when he's rapping over the top of someone else's tune)
EDIT2: Ok, if you two REALLY want to see Ren show off and blow your mind, pop over and watch The Hunger ... you have been warned
EDIT3: Hah, love the enthusiasm, but lads I go back before the Bulldogs made their debut....
EDIT4: Technically Ren is Welsh, Bangor is in Wales, which is part of the United Kingdom, he moved to Brighton some years back
For Bardcore - check out the 3 part Tale of Jenny & Screech
If you want to dive more into the rap side of his catalogue, I'd start with "What You Want" which is a brilliant homage to the Beasties,
followed with "Genesis" followed by "Sick Boy" followed by "Illest of Our Time" (this one goes after the previous one so you have some grasp of the meaning)
and the trail goes from there
For more rock oriented fare follow the breadcrumbs to The Big Push and dive in (I personally suggest Sweet Little Lady, Swan Song, Englishman in New York,
and the cherry on top 'I Shot The Sherriff/Road to Zion/Hip Hop')
Last but not least, don't be afraid to check down the alleys, Ren has built himself a circle of talented musician friends that will surprise you and
make you glad you chose to look for hidden treasure (Hint: *Chinchilla, Eden Nash, Sam Tompkins, and so many more)
(Also Humble w/ Eden Nash is just pure young punk/rude boy heaven)
*Chinchilla: Take 1 part Christina, 1 part Jessie J, 1 part Rhianna, blend well and pour over your own unique style, served ice cold by the baddest bitch in town
(See Fingers (Live), Little Girl Gone (the official video is just *fun*)
*Gorran: I've fallen in love with his tune If (live version)
*Romain: I haven't found one that just ... stabs me in the face and says "LISTEN TO ME ON REPEAT" but all of them are ridiculously good

To completely melt your brain watch the full trilogy of the Tale of Jenny & Screech. Most of his videos are done in one take, and a vast amount of them are also with him live. If there's an artist that you can listen to on a daily basis, then it's Ren. He's so incredibly versatile that you can find music for every mood that you're in - and he is so freakin' good in any genre he touches. And as an independent artist, he also produces his music and the beats (whenever he's using other peoples' beats to rap over them he'll name it a retake), and he directs his own videos that are so creative that you forget that they are actually very low-budget.
You will find a lot of stuff to listen and react to, whether rapping, singing, Raggae, storytelling, EMD, busking with his band "The Big Push", and so much more. His collaborations with Chinchilla, Sam Tompkins, Eden Nash, Bibi, and Venbee are not only amazing, they also introduce you to other great artists that you might never have heard of otherwise.
However, I loved your reaction and looking forward to seeing more Ren reactions!

The pig at the beginning is in a lot of his videos. He's referencing George Orwell's cult classic book, Animal Farm . In thr book, animals take over the farm from the abusive farmer. The pigs then take charge & abuse their power too. They write their manifesto on the wall, the most memorable line being "Some animals are more equal than others". The books writing on the wall theme is also in the Animal Flow video too.

They dropped him after he became ill. It took 8 years to get a proper diagnosis of Lyme disease. In the mean time his body / mind were ravage by misdiagnosis and the wrong treatments. He has had a stem cell transplant a few years ago and is now in Canada getting treatment for an autoimmune disorder that involve demylenating of the nerves.

For me, when it comes to Ren, it took me a minute because after Hi Ren, I appreciated the originality, theatrical quality, and message, but I thought that he wasn't someone I would listen to regularly. Now, after finding almost all of his stuff, I have like 4 different Ren Playlists, and that's the only thing I've listened to for a few months now, which NEVER happens to me. There is no box that he fits in and no genre that really defines him. You've got to find his other stuff, I have not heard a single song I don't like. To recognize his diversity fully, I recommend first:
Ren/The Big Push: (reggae style) Live Busking mash-up "Bob Marley/Damian Marley/Dead Prez
(Different rap styles and flows): The Hunger, Genesis, Losing It, Power, What you Want
(Storytelling, guitar, and creativity): Jenny, Screech, and Violet's Tale trilogy
(Great cover and singing voice): Ren/Sam Tompkins Live busking mash-up "Earned it/ Man's World/ Falling", and Ren/Sam "Blind Eyed Live" (angry car park attendant version is my favorite)

Check out Ren and Chinchilla: "Chalk Outlines" and "How to Be Me" and Chinchilla "Fingers - Live" and "Little Girl Gone". She's got some major pipes and the 2 of them together... Mind blowing. And everything by Ren is amazing. His street band is called The Big Push.

I’d suggest trying ‘Genesis’ by Ren, very Kendrick-esque, or maybe ‘The Hunger’.

You 2 are my new favorite reactors! 😆 You hella make me laugh, you guys are hilarious and fuckn smart too. You guys catch bars faster than so many others! Im here for it! ... Quick answer to your questions, I do listen to Ren on the daily. The more you discover the rest of his music, the more you'll see why. From rap, to reggae, to reggae infused rap, to heart wrenching ballads about loss and mental health, to songs with his band, The Big Push, and of course his storytelling songs like The Tale of Jenny & Screech, Ren honestly can do it all. I got 3 Spotify playlists for Ren and I def listen to him every day.
Side note: Ren produces all his music, so all those beats are his creation. He likes One Take Videos, so if you keep reacting to Ren, you'll start to see more of these type of videos. My suggestion would be to always choose the LIVE versions of his songs, if available, as those are almost always One Continuous Take Videos, tho his newest release, Animal Flow isn't live but it's another One Take Video, proving again that Ren refuses to be predictable LOL. I really love your reactions, guys! Keep em coming! And trust me, you've BARELY scratched the surface of the versatility of what Ren can do musically. I hope you enjoy the ride down the Ren Rabbit Hole, and thanks so much for this one. Absolutely killing it with your reactions! 🥰🙏🏽❤️

Personally there are many different songs of Ren that I listen to often, his deep stuff is a once in a while thing but then you play "walking on the moon" with Sam, or "losing it" my 6 year old loves his "children of the moon" ... There is no certain genre for Ren, if he vibes to it then he does it! Nice for you to personally rate it as well. Want to trip listen to the 3 part tale of Jenny and Screech non stop full version! Do that with a premier and react live! You will definitely get an audience!

"Losing It" should be your next reaction... Then, when you have recovered from that one ... "The Hunger" will blow your mind.... To see his true versatility, check out "Chalk Outlines" with him and Chinchilla.... Then listen to his older band stuff, The Big Push, highly recommend Their cover of "I Shot The Sheriff" from Bob Marley...
