Let's be real. With 99.9% conviction rate, you have no chance of pleading not guilty in Japan. Plus Ghosn did what no one didnt dare to do; taking charge of a bankrupt company waiting for the bullet of mercy and transform it into one of top veichle companies in the world. It's hard to not believe Ghosn especially for those who watched his news conference in Lebanon after his escape.

Nope this is what happens when Western executives enter in to Eastern markets. The Japanese board simply wanted him out, he was a threat to the board because he cut through all their seniority and honour.

This isn’t western exclusive behavior. You don’t typically hear of this sort of thing in japan cuz it gets swept under the rug, it’s way more common and widespread in places like Singapore, China, and recently Vietnam.

Japan went way overboard in this case. On top of that, you're guilty in Japan until proven guilty - if your case goes to trial you will be found guilty. That's always been the dark side of Japan (and I love the place).

Japanese courts take time to approve an arrest. The rate of non-prosecution is also high. Thieves or murderers go to jail but economic criminals enjoy freedom.
