  • Welcome to August's reading recap where I go over all the books I read in August! This was such a full month with such a wide variety of different genres from Italian WWII, to contemporary, to Medieval-style fantasy.
And I've got so much more going on behind the scenes! I'd love to share more of those details with you in my newsletter:

    Eternal by Lisa Scottline
Elisabetta, Marco, and Sandro grow up as the best of friends despite their differences. Elisabetta is a feisty beauty who dreams of becoming a novelist; Marco the brash and athletic son in a family of professional cyclists; and Sandro a Jewish mathematics prodigy, kind-hearted and thoughtful, the son of a lawyer and a doctor. Their friendship blossoms to love, with both Sandro and Marco hoping to win Elisabetta's heart. But in the autumn of 1937, all of that begins to change as Mussolini asserts his power, aligning Italy's Fascists with Hitler's Nazis and altering the very laws that govern Rome. In time, everything that the three hold dear--their families, their homes, and their connection to one another--is tested in ways they never could have imagined.
Before I Let You Go by Kelly Rimmer
When Lexie Vidler gets a 2 a.m. call from her estranged sister Annie, it’s a familiar nightmare. Annie, a drug addict, is in premature labor, and the consequences of going to the hospital could be disastrous. As Lexie steps in to care for her newborn niece, her own life begins to unravel. With Annie in court-ordered rehab, both sisters are forced to confront buried childhood secrets-secrets that could either heal them or push them further into darkness.
The Ambassador's Daughter by Pam Jenoff
Margot Rosenthal, reluctantly attending a peace conference in post-war Paris with her diplomat father, finds herself torn between duty and freedom. Dreading her return to Berlin and an estranged fiancé, Margot embraces the vibrant, conflicted city. She forms unexpected friendships with Krysia, a musician with dangerous secrets, and Georg, a wounded naval officer who challenges her beliefs. As Margot navigates these complex relationships, she begins to question her loyalties, her future, and her heart.
A Cast of Stones by Patrick W. Carr
In the quiet village of Callowford, Errol Stone takes on what seems like an easy task-delivering a message to a reclusive priest. But when deadly assassins target him, he’s thrust into a perilous journey with a band of unlikely companions. As they flee, Errol discovers he’s part of a secret quest to determine the fate of the kingdom. With danger closing in, he must confront his past and uncover the deadly forces trying to stop them.
