Love your new bookshelves and the darker wood. What a wonderful room with natural lighting. Room needs a big rug to subdue the echo from the tall ceiling.
sonder is a lovely concept; the realization that each random passerby is living a life as vivid and complex as your own-populated with their own ambitions, friends, routines, worries and inherited craziness
@@AllTheArtsy I think it's less so of finally having the realisation, and more so the moment of when you look around and become 'aware' of it? Of course you already 'know' it, but it's this moment where everything seems to shift for a moment and you become aware of your own place in these strangers' lifes? I can't explain it well, but for me it feels like slightly shifting outside of my body and looking at everything from above and realising my own insignificance.
I got James when I did the quiz. I had to do a couple guesses because I hadn’t read anything by those authors and I haven’t seen those movies. But it still gave me the one book on the longlist that interested me enough to buy it. I still haven’t read it but intend to by the end of 2024.
If you liked the movie past lifes, you may enjoy perfect days too. The way it's shot, the pacing of the storytelling, his acting... just stunning. It is a rather slow and meditative movie but for me it really captered "the little things", the beauty in being alive, to conect with strangers. It had something peaceful.
love being sooo earlyyyyy!! Jack after i met you at the bokfair in gothenburg my appreciation for you have doubleeeeed and I truly look up to you and how well you are spoken and read(shocker) bahaha no but fr keep going you are GREAT❤️❤️
Yay Jack is back!! Please give your reviews for the Booker prize books you end up reading -- this is the first time I've followed a prize and I'm waiting on your reviews with bated breath ❤
I got Orbital so I might give it a try. My issue is I'm a fantasy reader first and foremost, I've only read (and loved, though) one author on the list (Sarah Waters) and I haven't seen ANY of the movies, so I just picked the one I'd be most interested to see. If this book is sci-fi but still literary it might be a good introduction to lit fic because the genre is huge and terrifies me which might be how other people feel about fantasy but fantasy is my cosy place haha
I was so excited when Held made both the long and short list! I had it pre-ordered, waited impatiently for release, and loved reading it. Watching this, when the book covers question came on I was so confused and didn't even recognize it! I've gotta say, I much prefer the Canadian cover 😅
I don’t have time to watch the video yet but Jack’s hair looks so good in this one and, if he also likes it, I’d like to see him keep his hair like that cause I think it suits him really well:)
I took the quiz before watching the video and ended up with Stone Yard Devotional ... which is the first book for the book club I just joined haha! Guess it's a sign
Normally the question about which movie you like the most is a pretty good gauge, but American Fiction is based Erasure by Percival Everett so it’s feels bias, like of course it’s going to recommend me James.
I really love the new place, but you are way too far away from the books. How am I supposed to read the spines now? Can you scoot back a bit? 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 Also, love the silent background. That backtrack of a repeating music phrase makes it really difficult for folks who are hard of hearing to actually hear you. Can you keep it off? 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Jack, please tell me if you read 'Death with Interruptions' written by José Saramago. I read it, in one go, almost. :D As you helped me with reading more (as virginia woolf that i loooooveee) for a few years, i would love to get feedback on this book. I read it in French, it is dense but really interesting. You are quite the only librarian ;) i love the books videos of, so i hope this will be interesting for you, a nice discovery maybe. MUCH LOVE
there's a book called Hidden Manifestation by Oliver Mercer, and it talks about how using some secret techniques you can attract almost everything in life it's not some bullshit law of attraction, it's the real deal
Am i missing something? Did he show us the new library already because if he didn’t and this is the first time he’s showing it then.. THE AUDACITY!! I need the new library vlog asap
gorgeous library there. i love the typewriter
Is it his new library???
@@sanjaavramovic Yes. He just moved.
the new bookshelves are everything i’m sparing to have in life. so so gorgeous
Room tour, please Jack 🙏 what a gorgeous space. The bookshelf 😍
Love your new bookshelves and the darker wood. What a wonderful room with natural lighting. Room needs a big rug to subdue the echo from the tall ceiling.
The library is beautiful but all i could keep looking at was that beautiful sweater you’re wearing, it looks so so pretty and soft .
sonder is a lovely concept; the realization that each random passerby is living a life as vivid and complex as your own-populated with their own ambitions, friends, routines, worries and inherited craziness
ridiculous that you need to "realize" this
I wish people would be more open about their own inherited craziness. We all have it.

love the new library, the vibes are slaying
THE LIBRARY IS IN A NEW LOCATION?
Oh great I’m not the only one confused🤣
Did he stain his shelves or did they always look like that?
He just moved to a new apartment.
He moved and also bought new bookshelves.
Bro where are you, it looks gorgeous
I got James when I did the quiz. I had to do a couple guesses because I hadn’t read anything by those authors and I haven’t seen those movies. But it still gave me the one book on the longlist that interested me enough to buy it. I still haven’t read it but intend to by the end of 2024.
Love the hairstyle, it looks brilliant!
It blows my mind that no one here is talking about hidden manifestation by oliver mercer
I got Stone Yard Devotional by Charlotte Wood. This quiz knows me deeply, I'm obsessed
I need Jack to make a ‘Which Sally Rooney line are you?’ Or something
YESSS
is it just me or is the sound quality worse than usual
I think maybe Jack forgot to turn on/couldn't use his mic for some reason.
Yeah a bit
He’s in a larger room
And looks a bit further away from the mic, it seems fine though
It really is
Yeah, I found it almost difficult to listen to. Sure he’s already aware from editing. He needs to figure out his new setup in this new location.
YES, read Held by Anne Michaels. Jack, her writing will absolutely draw you in. She's one of my favourite writers.
ARE WE NOT GONNA TALK ABOUT THIS GORGEOUS BOOKSHELVES?
jack the new bookshelves are stunning I don’t get why you were worried
dark academia vibes!!
oooo new filming spot! Love the vibes
Love the new library look!
James has to win the Booker Prize. It is an instant modern classic and I believe one of the best books ever.
Jack beign so shocked he got this book recommended when the blurb sounds like the book that is right up his alley, lol
love being sooo earlyyyyy!! Jack after i met you at the bokfair in gothenburg my appreciation for you have doubleeeeed and I truly look up to you and how well you are spoken and read(shocker) bahaha no but fr keep going you are GREAT❤️❤️
omg jack. i fucking love your book shelves. WOW

I love this library setup
Will have to do the quiz myself.
I really loved Held! There are a few of us out here. 💚
I think you would love Banshees of Inisherin!!
Jack having his Murakami moment with the Cat.
I just met Anne Michaels. She’s amazing. Her novels are so raw and touching!
Jaaack we need you to read and give us your thoughts in these kind of videos 😮💨
i want a decorate my library with me vlog !!!!!!!!!
Please remember to put in the link for the Booker Prize😊 I mean, I found it by myself, but it might just be a bit easier for others that way.
So, no idea what answers I would've picked in, but how come I knew what _your_ answers would be for many of the questions?
jack casually wearing an ami paris sweater
i’m jealous 😭
omg I also got Held! Was also chocked, honestly didn't seem to line up with my impression of the answers i gave
I love how we gave totally different answers and ended up with the same book.
I took the quiz and it gave me one that was already on my tbr I think this quiz is onto sumn
HELD is a*maz*ing*
The quizwriter got it in one.
I got Headshot by Rita Bullwinkel

Your hair looks amazing!

I got Orbital twice, even when I changed my answers completely 😅 but I am interested in reading it now! Ordered it from my library 👌🏻

Thank you for choosing everything I would choose
Waiting for the library update video on the main channel!!!!!! ❤
I took the quiz before watching the video and ended up with Stone Yard Devotional ... which is the first book for the book club I just joined haha! Guess it's a sign
This is an interesting quiz, and I got Wild Houses by Colin Barrett.
When I took the quiz, it recommended Stone Yard Devotional by Charlotte Wood.

The icon that Jack is ❤ I’m sending you all the love (;

I took the quiz and got recommended held too
I did the quiz multiple times with different answers and got the same result: Charlotte Wood's Stoneyard Devotional
I really love the new place, but you are way too far away from the books. How am I supposed to read the spines now? Can you scoot back a bit? 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Also, love the silent background. That backtrack of a repeating music phrase makes it really difficult for folks who are hard of hearing to actually hear you. Can you keep it off? 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

Hell yeah to the Lana Del Rey jamming session!! 🖤
🤣 I just took this quiz and it recommended Wild Houses which I’ve literally just read 😂
I got the only book that I’ve actually read from the longlist which is Orbital
Jack, please tell me if you read 'Death with Interruptions' written by José Saramago. I read it, in one go, almost. :D
As you helped me with reading more (as virginia woolf that i loooooveee) for a few years, i would love to get feedback on this book. I read it in French, it is dense but really interesting.

I got Orbital by Samatha Harvey. Sounds intriguing! The quiz picked up that I’m an Aquarius lmao
I was so excited to do the quiz and then they hit me with the movie question - I haven't seen a single one! I don't watch movies! WHY!
there's a book called Hidden Manifestation by Oliver Mercer, and it talks about how using some secret techniques you can attract almost everything in life it's not some bullshit law of attraction, it's the real deal
Am i missing something? Did he show us the new library already because if he didn’t and this is the first time he’s showing it then.. THE AUDACITY!! I need the new library vlog asap
