Just scarified my lawns other day & aerated using garden pitch fork n took a while…few breaks in between but the soil was so soft with all the recent rains we’ve had. Thx for the vdo as usual great info!!😉😎👍🏼
Well done, that does look like hard work. Wish I could rent a decent manual aerator for my lawn, not sure I can justify the cost at the moment. Did my fescue/bent renovation today so hoping for germination in a week or so.
Hey, is there a way I can show you the state of my lawn and what you would recommend? I’ve tried adding photos to this message, but no joy. It looks like meadow grass as it’s clumpy & stuff. Long story short I think we were stung by cowboys. But I’d like your in put as I’m thinking of doing the seeding and compost and top soil like you did in a previous video
I just bought this exact same thing and a lawn lute from a German made brand for €160 for the pair of them (did have to still get a handle for the lute), so there's definitely very solid and more reasonably priced version out there.
I've just bought a JNJ aerator off Amazon and it's really good....works exactly like this one but cheaper (still £130 though)...quality heavy duty product
Ive just bought he same one, and i am so pleased with it. I have compacted clay soil full of stones and it still did a great job. The cores are also quite long compared to others, i would highly recommend it.
Cheers 👍🏻 So far, this one has been great, but I know you can get some cheaper alternatives with 2 tines. May just take a bit longer, but no problem doing it that way 👍🏻
Aerated 50 square metres today, already have a big blister on both hands, I have one of the cheapo ones with two tines, it works okay. I have the front lawn to do still at 30 square metres 😨

Nice one - hope things start germinating soon 🤞

Brilliant nate,I actually aerate mine yesterday with a Halloween tine aerator and took so long but hopefully the results will be worth it
Cheers 👍🏻
Back breaking work isn’t it! 😅
@NoviceGardener back breaking is an understatement 😆😆😆,but it will be worth it I hope,
Scary work 👻

That’s brilliant!
What's the best thing to do for a water logged lawn where in places the water actually pools?
French drains

That’s class - I still think they’re crazy expensive for what they are!

Great video as per usual!
Would you recommend that particular hollow tine aerator with 3 tines or after using it would you recommend a something else?
Cheers 👍🏻

The blisters are a nightmare! Good luck with the front! 🙏
How often did the aerator get clogged?
Not at all with this 👍🏻
@@NoviceGardener that's a major plus point
You know you're doing your back lawn fescue.... I just got a1 platinum pro which I thought you were using and that's largely fescue it seems
That’s what I’ve used on the grass verge at the front so far. I’m still debating whether to go with a fescue over seed on this lawn or a rye over seed
Never used one in 35 years , it’s a tool for greens not for aesthetic grass. Unless you use very heavy roller mowers and cut at 10 mil or lower .
