It’s funny you mention “has anyone made an o-ring mounted wooden board” because I realized I actually have lol. Handmade a wooden case and used Bakeneko internals.
I just got one and I'm rocking it! With the CF plate and HMX deep navy switches! Loving the clackiness of it! Not a typical thocky thing you see in a wooden keyboard! The only downside for me is as what Alex said, the finish is so delicate and the wood is as soft as it got a dent when the container of my switches fell on the top side of the keyboard.. It dented right away.
i wonder how this keeb would look when som1 did treat the wood with iron acetate. it goes into the wood and scratches wouldn't be visible, and i think it would yurn the wood very dark, near black
I build guitars out of wood all the time. I'm interested in using my guitar skills for a keyboard. I feel like keyboard manufacturers probably don't have the same skill set as me with woodworking and would use different techniques. But with guitars, stability is the name of the game.
Yep I have thought about this, one thing that really has improved guitars is the roasting of the material for necks, it helps with stability and reduces warping, cracking and other problems. I would think roasting and drying the wood would also help with keyboards.
Hot avoid this keyboard. They screwed up the daughter board alignment for the installation. I ordered one and had to return it. Their solution was to dremel the keyboard to fix it. Divinikey is working with the vendor to come to a solution because it affected their entire board shipment.
Do you know if that is that wide spread issue? I've spoken to a few people who've owned them and they've had no issues. Even someone who owned one watched the stream and loved it.
If anyone is concerned about this, I checked in and looks like this was a small batch and the issue has been addressed with the manufacturer. You can check in with your local vendor as most of them should be getting replacements sent to them if they had that issue.
@@alexotos divinikeys was told it was a problem with the 1st batch of keyboards. They were told the recent batches have been corrected. Last I checked they were working on a solution for the affected boards.

Thank you for info.
Real ones remember the original KBDFans wooden 60 case.
I still have mine, the standoffs are removable so you can very easily gummy oring mount it
that's my daily driver 😜
I am interested in a wooden one and this looks currently the most vfm choice. Thanks for review, pretty useful and I will probably wait for some time.
Great video! Have you heard of the Tess65? I’ve been wanting to build a budget keyboard and was looking at it
This is such a fun looking board fr. I legit may get one just for fun.
Omg it has iso support alright thats cool!
Does anyone know what the keyboard above it is? That layout looks super interesting
The age of wood is upon us!!!

Anyone knows which yc8 cable being used In video ?
Teak would be a great material for a wooden keyboard but i'd imagine the cost would be an issue

@@oscarsanchez298 I was thinking of using a roasted maple for that reason. Also it stains well.
would like to see akko's Bun Wonderland keycap set in this lol
carbon fiber or alu half would slap
i really hate the 7 degree angle of it
Just last week i was missing my tofu60 walnut. The only good one out there is the akko one but the design is meh.
If you take Botanical out of this board i will certainly haunt you at night
What a pretty board, but not as pretty as that smile on your face Alex! Yet another fantastic video
Thank you SO MUCH!
still think the AKKO MU01 sounds better and you are not forced to use the silicon.
I saw that one! It's an interesting looking board, I prefer the looks of this one from KBDFans, but I'll see if I can check it out.
@@alexotos I tried foamless build with that board and it definitely can rocks it. Highly recommend you try it out
@@alexotos I hope you get your hands on one! I've been thinking of picking one up and would love to hear your opinion on it.
Kbdfans with their use of silicone... Again!!!

I have one (typing on it now) and although it was a little tricky to get the daughter board installed, it works fine.
Works fine for me had no issues I love it.

I had a wood 60% keyboard warp and then it cracked and broke. $300 wasted
You should definitely check out the mu01. Interms of sound profile i think it has more potential
