Yum! I think you could add some cashews and pecans to make it even more rich and decadent!! Also, I’m thinking you could use your instant pot and make the caramel and stir in the Corn Pops all in the non stick pot before transferring to the oven to save yourself from cleaning an extra bowl (lazy cook here).
Oh heavenly days! This is in my oven right now permeating the entire house with buttery maple sweetness. My husband's coworkers will rejoice tomorrow as they crunch this with their coffee. ❤ thank you!
Hey Jeff, loved the episode...this is pretty much exactly the caramel corn recipe that my mom used to make for us. For our birthdays she would make a big batch and send it to school with us to share.
A good number of years ago now, I dropped by the smaller Waller location on our way to Houston and the cashier asked if I had Beaver Nuggets as a bowl of cereal. Really!? Um...yes...try it. As a Gen X'er, it will punch you square in the nostalgia for our old/original Sugar Pops!
Jeff, I must protest the publishing of this recipe. I’m now going to have to make this on a regular basis! Just kidding, these things are *AWESOME* Thanks!
Cool idea, and it looks tasty. Seems worth a try to make it. There are brittle recipes that don't use corn syrup, but are made in a similar way. Love being able to make a snack treat instead of buying one with ingredients that are a mystery (natural flavoring) or petroleum derivatives that might be harmful to kidney function.
We just got a Buceee's a few weeks ago in Springfield, Missouri. I've yet to go. I just don't see why everyone is so crazy about it. But everyone was talking about these beaver nuggets and they reminded me of the cereal corn pops. So I thought I'd see how to make them. *** Omg you used corn pops.😂😂😂😂😂
We have a Buc-ees near us in St.Augustine, FL....since 2021. I've yet to go.😅 Ive watched a few TH-camrs and as much as I love beef jerky ( they have TONS of it! ) Im not paying $3--$8 for just one thin long strip of flavored beef jerky, or $13.00 for a beef brisket sandwich. Being Florida..off I-95, I can imagine its a mad house 24--7.😅 Im glad I saw this recipe. I just bought Corn Pops the other day.
We just went to the Springfield, MO location. I wasn't all that thrilled to go to a glorified gas station, so I wasn't looking forward to it. I was wrong. The store is awesome. Lots of people on a Saturday afternoon, but their BBQ brisket is really good. I highly recommend you go at least once.
We usually add unsalted roasted peanuts or pecans in ours, make sure it's unsalted or your brittle won't set properly. Anyway, loved the video, take care and stay safe ❤️.
I have subscribed, Sir! Your simple, yet complete and easy to follow instructions are greatly appreciated. This looks and sounds (that crunch!) yummy 😋
I made something similar 2 weeks ago I added lightly salted peanuts and a 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper and it was delightful. BTW Virginia should be getting 2.
Wow!!!!!!!! I wish I could eat this as is but it's too sweet for me. I could reduce the sugars by using a recipe I found for Keto corn syrup but I'd still have to sub shortening for the butter. I'd use the original cereal, what I know of as Sugar Corn Pops, but once done I couldn't eat much of it at a time. I would certainly find out how long it keeps in the icebox! I'll print it out and make it before too long!!!!
Add in what you like, I do peanut brittle and add in some cayenne, chipotle or chili powder and I use salted peanuts. So you could add a bit of salt and your flavors.
hmm… A kitnyot version of matzah caramel crunch without the chocolate. I wonder if adding KLP baking soda would do the same for the caramel I make for that.
That looks great. Wouldn't it be quicker and easier to pour your corn pops from the bowl or directly out of the box into the caramel sauce and stir them instead of pouring and scraping the sauce out of the skillet into the bowl of corn pops? And would it work to use more maple syrup and less corn syrup, or would that make it not thicken properly? Definitely looks like a snack I want to experiment with. I live in northern New York so there's no Buckee's near me
Hey Jeff if you spray the measuring cup with cooking spray the corn syrup will come out easier.
Awesome tip!
Spray the spatula too 😉
For sticky stuff, those adjustable, sliding, measuring cups work good too.
Or just rub some of that melting butter in it
You just made my grandma's peanut brittle only instead of peanut you used corn pops. Brilliant. She always told me the baking soda is the key.❤
The loss of Bed Bath & Beyond is devastating to anyone who enjoys cooking. It was a great resource.
I'll be making this but adding some Spanish peanuts to it......reminds me of Cracker Jacks!!!!!!

My mother would have a heart attack if she saw you leave the oven door open that long to stir lmao .. definitely going to try this looks great 👍😊
lol! I’m that Mother 😂

I was thinking the same thing except peanuts!

Buc-ees got approved for N.C. can’t wait
Mebane right?

I have also seen where you can use Oyster Crackers instead of the Corn Pops. But either way, it sounds yummy!

I LOVE BUC-EES. I named my orange Maine coone mix after that beloved beaver.
If you have dust left over from this or in your Beaver Nugget bag, save that and mix it into a vanilla ice cream base.
Love your version of how to do it, going to try yours, thank you!!!
Kentucky has a few now. One open and a couple still being built or maybe 2nd opened already.
This looks delicious! I am definitely taking this to my next family function. Thank you!
They're Corn Pops from the 90s.
In a few weeks a Buc-ees will be opening in Colorado. We are very excited.
Lucky you!
I wish we had a Buc-ee's in Chattanooga!
Dude!!!! Looks awesome!! I'm making this for the next family gathering!

They're in Kentucky & South Carolina also.

This great - so easy and I'm sure delicious! Perfect party food - even if it's a party of one. Thanks, Jeff!

This is awesome. I've been looking for snack ideas. Thank you 🙂
You could add a dash of cayenne pepper to make it spicy & sweet!
I live next to a HUGE Buc-cee's. I love their fresh fried chips.
That would also be good with some mixed nuts or even just peanuts added to the mix. Yum.
Try it!
I have subscribed, Sir!

Looks wonderful. I make my Carmel popcorn a lot like that. So good.
Mebane, NC City Council just approved a Buc-ee's. Welcome to North Carolina. About 45 minutes from Raleigh, the capitol city.
Yaaaa! I'm in Charlotte. Cant wait! Day Trip!!
KY also!
"Beaver Nuggets" was my stripper name when I worked the Lumber Jack Conventions.
WOW!!!! Sounds super easy to make!!!! Gonna have to make some!!!!! Thank you cutie!!!! George
I love this going to make right now I am from Nebraska but live in Minnesota I am thinking what a fun nosh for the day
I hope you enjoy it!
Enjoy it!!
Buc-ee Lucky! 😂❣️
I think I would make the candy in my wok, and just add the cereal to the wok. One fewer bowl to wash.
To me Beaver Nuggets are like Corn Pops meets Cracker Jacks.
Great description! These are also very much like that!
The Beaver is coming to Mebane, NC…
Love you Jeff !!! Keep the recipes 11:51 going ❤❤❤🎉
If you spray your measuring cup with cooking spray, the corn syrup will come out easily.
Looks yummy!
This is a must try! Have you tried this recipe with adding a cup of cashew pieces to it? Love your recipes!!
That's what I was thinking. Cashews or pecans would be great.
Getting one in a month or so in Johnstown Colorado. Wooooweeee
Wow!!!!!!!! I wish I could eat this as is but it's too sweet for me. I could reduce the sugars by using a recipe I found for Keto corn syrup but I'd still have to sub shortening for the butter. I transcribed your instructions for myself before I realized there is a link.
I'm going to try this.
That’s Cracker Jack without popcorn! Been good stuff for years!
That looks outrageously good and i will make some but my son will have to hide and dole out in decent size servings.
Add some roasted peanuts, and you'll have a spin on Cracker Jacks, and, to take it a step farther, coat it in chocolate.
I would LOVE for you to write a keto cookbook! ❤
This recipe fits in perfectly with that!
Bed Bath and Beyond is back.
Love Corn Pops🤣🤣🤣 Being From Wisconsin Doesn’t Hurt🤣🤣🤣
Good job 👏
I’ve never been to a Bucees ibut the is one in South Missouri now.
Yep, in Springfield. I beleive they just opened a couple of weeks ago.
Kellog’s Corn Pops are the ‘lite’ version.
Damn you! Us t1's/2's are all in I'm sure. Thanks
This looks amazing! Do you think you could do a version of this that is also savory and sweet? You are brilliant, so I know you’re the person to ask.
Add in what you like, I do peanut brittle and add in some cayenne, chipotle or chili powder and I use salted peanuts. So you could add a bit of salt and your flavors.
I bet it would be good with Fritos if you wanted a savory sweet type thing.
Looks delish, how about some peanuts added in? Maybe at that 20 min stir time. Reminds me of cracker jacks!
We got one being built here in south Mississippi on I 10 ..
Literally looks like the golden nuggets cereal
I needed a shot of insulin just watching this. 😂
Corn pops a bad dude
could you add peanuts into the liquid mixture?
Springfield Missouri just got 1
I was thinking cashews too. Great minds think alike 😂
Add peanuts!
You can!
Just brilliant Thank you
hmm…
A kitnyot version of matzah caramel crunch without the chocolate. I wonder if adding KLP baking soda would do the same for the caramel I make for that.
Soon to be Colorado yeah.
This is my caramel corn recipe!
Could you use honey instead of corn syrup?
That looks great. Wouldn't it be quicker and easier to pour your corn pops from the bowl or directly out of the box into the caramel sauce and stir them instead of pouring and scraping the sauce out of the skillet into the bowl of corn pops? And would it work to use more maple syrup and less corn syrup, or would that make it not thicken properly? Definitely looks like a snack I want to experiment with. How would it taste if you added roasted nuts to the mixture... or mini M&Ms?
Chocolate would melt while baking in the oven. The nuts sound good though!
Ill bet that'd be great on ice cream!
Will Bucc-ees be opening in Northampton, England? 🙂
Looks delicious and easy. Have you thought of adding peanuts?
Was that a teaspoon or tablespoon of baking soda? You said teaspoon but that looked like maybe a tablespoon worth.
South Carolina and soon North Carolina!
Puff corn is best.
I don't care for cereal. Would this process work with popcorn?
The difference between light and dark brown sugar is the amount of molasses in it
Hey Jeff for another one to try is with PUFF CORN. Not popcorn. My son-in-law calls it mamas crack. Be my friend and call it something different, lol.
And now Colorado
Since I can not eat brittle because of nuts, I have a way of eating brittle. Thank you.
Carmel corn puffs. I’d probably just make a butter sugar cream of tater pour over corn puffs and let set.
Hey Jeff, great video. Thanks. Gonna make some Mississippi pot roast later and this for dessert! What kind of oven do you have? It looks interesting.
Nonstick spray as mentioned or a bit of vegetable oil for any sticky syrupy liquids-
first:) I made your beef stew and chili this week!
Hope you enjoy
My stomach hurts just looking at that -- lol.
Peanuts!!!!
Add a small prize and you have Cracker Jack
I wonder if you could skip the maple syrup. I don't like maple. I'm weird, I know.
Sub in corn syrup.
Hard crack stage?
260 is soft ball stage of candy
That looks like a whole lot of inches on my hips! 😂
How bout drizzling chocolate over it before breaking up🤔
Does it hurt your teeth like peanut brittle?
Not my teeth personally but it will depend on the person and their set of chompers.
