Whoever the Florence lady is, she has something special in her vocal cords. That vibrato is no joke.
She is Florence Welch of Florence + the Machine, she's the frontwoman of a band. She is a rockstar, modern legend in her field.
She MOSTLY does music right now that is . . . comparable to 70's rock? But she is insanely versatile and not afraid to blend genres.
Her most recent album has a folk song with spoken word and is a performance piece, has a disco track and very cinematic contemporary rock and baroque pop elements. Yet it's somehow still very cohesive.
IF you'd like to hear more " Soulful " music from her I recommend " Lover to Lover " and her cover of " Oh Darling " by The Beatles
I love how Christina was fanning Jennifer while singing Respect. She caught the spirit. I love how Yolanda and Jennifer are signaling each other on how to end it. I love how Yolanda, Jennifer and Christina reacted toward each other and feeding off of each other energy.

Interesting that, this was her latest performance (and appearance) at the Grammys. Until this years she just showed up to present the award.

But Martina just sang there, it’s like she didn’t embody the soul and vibe in Aretha’s songs.

Never heard of Florence b4 seeing this but that lady can absolutely BLOW. She killed her part. Her mannerism and stage presence was fitting for the song she did. And she never missed a note which is kinda hard when doing a fast song with spontaneous high notes and no room to a breath but she tore it up. Plus I like when singers have that "ringing" affect in their vibrato as she does.

Christina was having the time of her life up there. Her smile lit up whenever Yolanda and Jennifer sang, this is the kind of stage she loves. She was robbed of her Divas Live era, since VH1 made her go to the Men Strike Back show instead.
Dang at Aguilera’s runs… The amount of emotion, passion, and pain in a single run gave me chills… All of them are powerhouses, but Aguilera stood out.
Shes a virtuossa, one of a Kind. They are all masters at their craft, but xtina is a unique wonder. There's a few like her: Ella, Aretha, Whitney, Mariah, Céline and her.

I think that this video just shows how different female voices can be. Every single one of the performers brought a piece of aretha to the stage. And after watching all of them, I feel like they are really presenting a tribute to the queen of soul here. who cares which one hit the highes notes? Arethas music was about feeling it. And that is what they did.
